As soon as Johnny Nelson picked Riakporhe, you just knew he was doomed. The scoring was scandalous, by the way. Billam Smith won 9-10 rounds of that fight.

A lesson in exactly what not to do in challenging for a world title. Lazy, unambitious, scared to engage, stiff and listening to nothing your corner is telling you. Awful performance
That was a joke of a performance from Riakpore considering he was fighting on a night set up for him. He held and head butted all night, never gave himself space, never executed what his trainer was telling him. CBS was levels above, had the right tactics and is clearly the better fighter to when they last fought.

Completely agree. Ref needed to get on top of it much quicker than he did. Never thought of him as a dirty fighter before this.

Billam-Smith clearly won in at least 8 rounds, possibly 10, and Riakphore even had a point deducted in one round. It's surprising that two judges scored it so closely at 115-112. Great tactical fight by Billam-Smith, plus showed toughness and grit.
If I’m being honest I gave Richard maybe 2 rounds out the 12

CBS boxed well and was disciplined in there and didn't get involved in a tear up, but The Midnight train never left the station! Riakphore was Awful, why did he try produce a carbon copy of the CBS- Okolie fight!?

@@saifhussain9701 Opetaia is the only Cruiserweight I'd say is top draw. Zurdo has only had 1 fight in Cruiserweight and only moved up because he doesn't have the ability to beat Bivol or Beterbiev. Breidis is far past his best and is only in contention because the competition is not that strong especially compared to previous eras of the cruiserweight division.

Stayed up based on the hype and thought it was the Strictly preview. 🕺 I wondered how sapping it was for Richard to make that weight with a 6’ 5” frame.
He's never had head movement, foot work, and barely throws his only weapon. This result was obvious tbh.

I don’t think riakporhe prepared for the fight right and I also don’t think it was that one sided. I think the judges got it right but I do think riskporhe damaged him more than Chris damaged him.I felt liked he landed more power punches that’s why I feel like the judges scored the way they did. but he is not that agile Chris be getting to close to him which makes him hold and he don’t know how to fight at his distance.

Not one for the history books, but CBS won that fight wide, 115-112 didn't happen, i had him losing 2 rounds, if im CBS im loooking at my contract when its up for renewal, sky tried to cash him in against riakporhe and maybe even Okolie.
Sky still trying to hype up Riakporhe even after his loss. Nothing against the guy, he's okay. But we can see through the hype train. He's not as good as Sky wants us to believe.
I don't understand all this noise for a boxer who's always hugging and just looking for a KO. Really deserved for CBS, who adapted to the situation like a champion. I hope he defends his belt outside the UK!
I knew Chris was gonna win as soon as I saw Shane McGuigan in his corner. This Riakporhe guy was confident because of the thugs who he trained with like Dillian Whyte and Joshua. Boxing is a gentleman's sport. It's not a sport for thugs.
Terrible fight. Richard should stick to modelling. Alot of young guys jumped on to boxing scenes because of joshua not realising how hard this craft really is.
Why does it take so long to announce the winner?? After each round there should be a person (John) who collects the score cards from each judge, and John then adds up the totals after each round. So at the end he has to add just 3 figures and add them to the running total - takes max 1 minute. Better still each judge should have his own electronic gadget that submits the scores. Why not even show the scores to the public after each round??

The fight was over before it started. Riakporhe looked so vervous in the ring during Smiths ring walk, whereas Smith looked focused and determined. Riakpohre lacks experience, at 34 and 18 fights....

Scores were closer than they should’ve been , RR won 2/maybe 3 rounds max .. CBS just out worked out landed and out smarted him , there was a couple times where it got reckless and I thought “oh Chris don’t do that “ but he bounced back well to keep winning those rounds …quality showing
This fight was all down to range domination…Smith kept moving forward and taking the range away from the taller man …
