Sweet bro. I’m an old beginner mechanic. In Oz. South African missus so loving your style. Thanks for the run down. Doing new head and timing chain replacement on the Pajero. Scary but less so with your vids. Cheers.
Will this procedure be much the same with the later 4M41 mechanical injection motors? Do you perhaps have a video on how to adjust the diesel pump timing on the 3.2 engine?
As far as I know yes , the 4m41 is basically identical , so the process will be very similar , do yourself a favour and download the 4m41 workshop manual . It explains everything 👌🏼
Good day, just wanted to find out whether it's possible to remove the 4m40tdi timing gear cover without having to remove the cylinder head and messing up the head bolts torque settings.? Kindly assist please. Thanks
Hey there my harmonic balancer pulley has started to wobble abit if I replace the pulley and put new belts on would it just be a straight install I wouldn’t have to do anything with timing right?
Hey man it depends on which one you are wanting to change because there are 2 but basically if you take a photo of the balancer, take it out and replace the tensioner in the same position you will be fine 👌
did you have to remove the head in order to remove the timing cover? I thought the other day when watching your video I thought I may have heard you say the head needed to come off in order to get the top of the timing cover off is that right?

Good day, yes it is possible. You will just need to take the front timing chain cover off of the motor 💪🏻
But then what happens to the gasket on that section where the timing chain cover is

Hi Joey, no you don’t have to remove the head to do the timing chain. Just timing covers and valve cover

Haha, would love a delica. But there might be a newer paj coming to the fleet some time soon 😅 not being home doesn’t help
Is the cam sprocket bolt reverse thread?
Yes it is indeed 👌🏼
Does the head have to be off to remove the timing cover?
No it doesn’t 👍🏻
