For those who are wondering what happened with Geno Whirl, it's easy. When you use it, you press Y as it's leaving the screen. The screen flashes blue, and you get 9999 damage every time. It works on all monsters and Exor's hilt. It doesn't affect bosses, though.

Mario, Bowser and Geno is the worst possible trio. Outside of Geno Boost, there are no good things. Mallow has good magic attacks, as well nice magic defenses and HP Rain. Toadstool has Group Hug and Come Back.
Gabriel Decidueye That’s why people use that trio because it’s considered hard mode. I used Mario, Geno, and Bowser to fight Culex and still won, but it just took longer than usual. Mario, Geno, and Peach is just too easy and even considered the easy mode of SMRPG. Mario, Geno, and Mallow are a good team to use since it’s just casual. The problem is Peach’s group hug is so broken, but her revive is fine. To make it more balanced, they should’ve made her group hug about 10 or 12 FP, because 4 FP is very cheap for a special move like that. Hard - Mario, Geno and Bowser Normal - Mario, Mallow and Geno Easy - Mario, Geno and Peach
With REALLY good timing, you can get 9999 damage using Geno Whirl by pressing Y at a certain time during the attack. This doesn't work on any boss except for Exor (the one you just saw here).
Nintendo was kind of stupid and only released this game in North America and Japan. If you're not from this area, you would have missed out (It was released in Europe on WiiWare).
I don't know why ppl bitch about Exor. I mean yes he's viewed as the ultimate enemy from the beginning of the game but you gotta fight a boss right before him and then afterward you find out he's not the last guy so his difficulty (except the fact you can geno whirl him AFTER the eyes are gone) is spot on IMO. He uses enough damn status effecting stuff and if your magic defense isn't up to par your gonna get owned.
I hate to double post but also the first attack on Exor's main point was a poor move. Each time you take down an eye, mouth or whatever, the top point weakens. Always weaken the other points first is the best thing to do. Using Geno Whirl is also a waste of magic. Geno's better attacks are actually his regular ones and not his specials.
What, I never knew you could use the Geno Whirl for 9,999 damage on Exor. I beat him the old fashioned way. I thought you couldn't get 9,999 damage with the Geno Whirl on Bosses. That's cool to know.
I guess i just suck then lol my peach hits like 20's. when im just fighting i always do mario bowser and geno, but when i fight bosses i replace geno with peach cuz i need her for healing n stuff and what is the most powerful weapon in the game, is it the war fan?
2. Bring the fertilizer and the seed you got from fighting Megasmilax to the man in Rose Town with a giant planter. Grow the vine and climb up to a hidden platform with a lazy shell weapon for Mario and a lazy shell armor for Bowser.

cuz peach has horrible attack. I would use her for healing, but if you have enough mid shrooms and pick me ups, you can use geno. you especially want to have him beacuse of geno whirl and geno boost

Cool, but you should of used peach instead of bowser. If you put the lazy shell armor on her, she really cant die. You can use her to heal/revive mario and geno.
I'm at the "THE END" picture at the end of the game but when I reset the game, I end up with only six stars and it says I haven't beaten Smithy! How do I continue the game with seven stars?

yes it is. the only time u get 9999 is during a normal battle. whenever i try to do it on a boss, it never works. or do we have to time it carefully?

i only used peach in 2 battles this and smithy
in here gave her the lazy shell armor and she just group hugd away all the status aliments
Mario+Bowser+Peach.
A rare item+Peach=Near Invincibility. Only is hurt by physical attacks, and those arn't used much late in the game.
and also one of geno's flower ataks,geno whirl, can do 9999 damage if u do a timed atak wit it.(pressing A button right befor da atak ends)
