A Day Trip to Camden, South Carolina

In this video, my wife and I take a day trip to Camden, South Carolina. Camden is the oldest inland city in the state of South Carolina and saw substantial action during the revolutionary war. While there we stopped by the site of the Battle of Camden, toured the old Quaker Burying Grounds, browsed through the Camden Archives and Museum, wondered through several antique stores, and had a fabulous dinner at Sam Kendall’s. Camden is the birthplace of Bernard Baruch, financier and advisor for ten US presidents and Larry Doby, the first African American to play Major League Baseball in the American League and second overall in the Majors behind Jackie Robinson.
There was much more that time and the August heat didn’t allow us to do including touring the Revolutionary War Site and Battle grounds. We will be returning to Camden one day to take in these attractions and others and to relive the great memories from this trip. I highly recommend taking a trip to Camden, South Carolina!
