I catch stuff all the time on the full scan that either made my job easier or saved the customer of breaking down in the near future. I’m prescanning every OBD2 car that comes in.
Test it on a honda car. The ones after 2005. The tool takes so long to scan the gauges and other electrical modules. This is why I'm interested in the tool. But my snap on guy doesn't have the loaner available. :/ Thank you for this video. Tool looks a lot better than the Apollo or Triton D8
at 0:36 i totally thought you were going to rip off the review of that really smart girl mechanic. good video. i just subbed (LOL) looking forward to more videos. wear your seatbelt
Green Phantom I still love my Modis edge and like having the quick 2 channel scope options for simple testing. If don’t use the scope or want the faster unit the Apollo is the way to go. Keep in mind the software package is required on the ApolloD9 to keep all the features functional. (Intelligent diag, Suretrack, Altus drive). We just traded in our solus pro on an Apollo so I will have more videos with it.
I think most vehicle need to have CAN communication line for the prescan to be available. I wish they all had the option since I work on many preCAN vehicles. Ford will still have the full system scan available on older models but that function is slightly different than the pre-scan option.
do you know what should i do after register the apollo d9 for chrysler gateway, i runs automatic after the registration or i should make a phone call??
If the setup was done properly a phone call shouldn't be necessary. Just need to have an internet connection when you try to unlock the Gateway module.
Not a fair comparison to compare a modis edge that is also a 2 channel lab scope..digital multimeter..graphing multimeter and a guided component test meter to a badass apollo d9 which is just a bi directional full function scanner with intelligent diag (optional). Should be comparing modis edge to a triton d9 to be fair. Anyone who trades a modis edge for an apollo d9 is downgrading a LOT. only upgrade from a modis edge would be triton..triton d9 or verus edge or Zeus
It was a demonstration of how fast the new architecture was compared to the old architecture. I have the new Triton D10 so I can do a head to head to head to head speed test and see what tools are fastest. The only difference will be software versions since the Triton D10 comes factory equipped with 21.2 software. My Zeus has 20.4, my modis edge has 20.2 and the Apollo D9 has 20.4. I suppose I can throw in a Modis ultra 20.4, solus ultra 17.4 and ethos edge 19.2 to see the complete lineup. I will try and compare them this weekend.
@@ThePracticalMechanic you must love your Snapon scan tools to have that many. I’m just looking into trading my modis ultra for the Apollo D9. Don’t need the scope option on my modis cause I have a Pico
We can never underestimate the value of a complete vehicle scan.
Loved the review Chad, thanks for sharing this man!

I would never ever even try to compete with that. And thanks for subscribing🤦🏼♂️

How come not all cars have to option for a full scan

Does the Apollo D9 have the 2 channel lab scope feature like the Triton 10. ?
The Apollo does not have the lab scope feature. You will have to buy a Triton or Zeus to get the built in scanner and scope.
