- This is a lecture I gave in October 2022, where I was asked to tackle the topic of the Abrahamic religions and their view on the meaning of life. In regular fashion, I of course primarily focus on the mystics.

He has a knack for asking asinine questions that lack any specificity- which shows idleness and that the questioner is an halfwit, but I suppose it is marginally more precise than where's the where the where? if only just. It is noticeable that the idle and asinine are careful to avoid specifics and like to keep their asiinine maunderings as vague and generalised as possible.
if like the questioner you are an idler and a halfwit, try to disguise that fact rather than making it quite so obvious particularly when the questioner is innocent of any sort of intellectual ability or accomplishment which it is probably best not to advertise.

@NellyBonez I mean translations will never come close to the Arabic, but they are good enough for you to understand the truth. Get Saheeh international, or if you want a one that gives more explanation, then get the Noble Quran(by Muhsin Khan and Hilali). If you wanna dive deeper, I can recommend you tafseers such as Tafsir As-saadi, which is detailed but well suited for a beginner.

Related to the Transcendental aspect, you say that you barely found elements to support this aspect of mysticism - if I understood well.
Studying a bachelor in Christian Orthodox Theology, couldn't we speak, for christianity, about Irenaeus of Lyon who says „God made Himself man, so that man can become God„? Or use the controversy of Varlaam and Gregory of Palama about hesychasm and the prayer of Jesus? The idea to connect and negate all feeling to „admire to Light of Mount Tabor” reflects really well, in my humble opinion, the transcendental aspect of mysticism in christianity - even if I may understand that it could be to oriental for the subject in terms of christianity.

Nice video I have a suggestion for you if your gonna do any Hindu videos. Maybe look into the other 6 darshanas ie Minamsa, Vaisheshika, Yoga, Samkhya and Nyaya they each have their own sutra. If only you had some slight idea what you mean by " cosmically", but you are about to demonstrate that you have not the faintest idea. If I were you I would avoid universals for reasons that a three-year-old child could set out to you with ease.

I’ve watched a ton of his videos. Had no idea he was Christian .
He's not Christian, other than culturally by being Swedish. He's said that he's spiritual not religious, like many people in Scandinavia now. His research focused on Sufism, and different forms of mysticism seem to still be (among) his main interest.

The success of the human species is partially attributed to the fact that humans act in groups. Collaboration and forming social bonds has given humans a significant advantage over other species.
This works best, if it's not purely reasoned, but part of our instinct. Therefore, from an evolutionary point of view, we should feel gratification in helping others.
A religious tradition that teaches us to love our fellow humans should have more appeal for that reason.

I agree with you we have come to this existence to learn and develop our souls and everybody here is to grow along with us in "incarnation" . Then we return to source and perhaps we'll come back again to learn some more lessons to grow and develop our soul we are all one and we get separated to come to this existence at this point in time and we have came back many times and we're in different points of time now perhaps we're in different places as well, our souls are immense because we are all part of God and God is part of everything and we are parts of God, we just experienced separation in this reality and this point in time, the abrahamic religion thing is just a man-made thing, check out Billy Carson's "Origin of religion" and you'll find out some of the truth

I know of people who became muslim after NDE experiences and same goes for other religions. And Certainly we aren't part of God or neither a piece of the Divine. I remember figuring out the Meaning of Life on a cold Snowy Night cuddling with my Cats... In Chan Buddhism there is a saying... All is One, One is All... I was feeling very lonely & isolated that night... But then my cats came & snuggled with me... It was the most joy I had felt in a while... & I realized... If All is One & One is All... Then the Meaning of Life was are our Connections & Bonds to ourselves, others & the world around us... It is our Relationship to these Beings & Non-Beings that truly give Life Meaning :]

We are an expression of the will toward good that permeates the universe. Evil provides necessary resistance; it exists as a necessary ally toward a beneficial end. Yes it’s all predestined; but the future action/symbols have no meaning until they are physically manifested thru us, until Gods Will is lived by us.

I know it hasnt much to do with the video, but, if i may, i would like to sugest a theme i belive you would love to look into and maybe give us your perspectives on.
As a brazilian, it is very common for us to hear about the "terreiros", originally - and still, bu not only - the places of worship created by the enslaved people in the diaspora, but, afterwards, also the places where "samba" came to be. While samba came in popular taste, the brazilian religions of african matrix are still persecuted by the christian majority of our country, even if it dictates some of our most common traditions, like wearing white (or other colors, each with a meaning of a desire) and jumping 7 waves in new year - a ritual for Yemanja, the yoruba goddess of the seas (rivers, originally), not to talk about the food we eat and the music we listen to.
Music and dance is a big part of those religions (also cooking, eating and drinking), for the rituals are celebrated as a happy gathering to recive the entities. A big part of this religions is about music, wich is a central part of the cult (the music, called "pontos", played and singed by the "ogãs", that calls the "orixas", the gods or spirits of nature), and a big chunk of brazilian music have strong influences from this african rythms, intrinsecly related with these religions. If you want to get a taste, i reccomend the Afro Sambas, by Baden Powell - ua-cam.com/video/IxM04Y4XSFs/v-deo.html - a samba, as the name says it, with a lot of bossa nova influence (i feel you'll really dig this one); or Ponto de Nanã, by Mariene de Castro - ua-cam.com/video/CWSG_zKRCKw/v-deo.html - wich is a "ponto" played in a more traditional ijexá style.
There is also the syncretic aspect of the religion - enslaved people used to disguise their worship identifilying their gods with catholic saints - wich became an actual faith and created an incredible enviroment of tolerance with diverse perspectives, described as reminiscent of the late roman empire, by Umberto Eco.
I find it a really fascinating theme and i feel like it would interest you as well. If you would like to take a look into it, there are some religions like candomble and umbanda (the most widespreaded), the first one was deeply studied by french antropologist Pierre Verger, but there is a lot of studies done about it! The famous logician and philosopher, A J Ayer, once wrote that just because a question makes grammatical sense, that doesn't mean it is valid. He gave the example of, 'Is Tuesday, blue?'. I would give the same answer to your questions that start with, 'Why . . . . .?'. They are products of a human mind, this does not mean they have any validity other than that which we give them.
We have a higher understanding than animals - probably, but so what? There are life forms in distant galaxies that have been around for millions of years and have evolved way beyond consciousness and reason - but they still have found no meaning to life.

Memory fails me when it comes to names, but a student once asked his teacher what his (the students) purpose in life was AND what was the meaning of life, and the answer blew my mind and stopped me dwelling on it. Instead of giving him an answer he asked his student two questions. Why do you have to have a purpose? Why does life have to have a meaning? He said, " maybe just maybe life is just for living it and nothing more. " My thoughts just stopped, but this guy was a Buddhist monk and to me at least the Lord Buddha who he is a follower of has plenty of purpose and a great deal of meaning! Again, rocking out with your paradox out!!!

A human is born, reproduces, dies. It is true of all life forms. These are facts.
Reproduction requires acquiring tools for the offspring to survive such as an income for the parent and education for the child. It also requires social skills to work with other people.
I don't understand gods, religion, mysticism ... that's because I stick to the scientific philosophy of Karl Popper:
*If a proposal is not testable, it is meaningless*
Here is the same idea of mirroring God in Christianity: "Be perfect, as you heavenly Father is perfect." "Be merciful, as your heavenly father is merciful"
moreover, the idea of mirroring God is fundamental to Christianity, as Christ Himself is at one with God and believers are to be at one with Him and God.

I feel that definitions of mysticism should be broadly limited to experiences of Union with ' god' .

Presumably, if Isaac had been killed, Abraham could have gotten into trouble for that.
We shouldn't take these stories out of context of the whole. The Bible says to not murder and also to obey the laws of your government.
And when teaching on these scriptures, the teacher absolutely has to keep all of this in mind. We can also assume that people who are relatively healthy of mind wouldn't use these stories or texts as justification to commit those acts.
@@DramaLlama2310 there's a lot of cases where people who aren't healthy in mind have committed crimes & murders due to "God's voice" ordering them to. Therefore the logical thing to conclude is if the story is true, Abraham himself is mentally unhealthy most likely schizophrenic old man. Who interpreted his delusional thinking to Devine communication. His position as leader of his family and tribe allowed him to brainwash and pass down his delusional teachings to his offspring. This is how the Jewish cult was formed.

Starting from the 21st Century and going back to Antiquity, if possible, to keep the peace, what if there was a joint effort between Jews and non-Jews who would work together, to accumulate stories from around the world?
There must be volumes of books which were lost or destroyed, some which are still available, with stories, quotations, and sayings that give the reader a firsthand and honest description of the author’s interaction with Jewish people.
I’m just looking to find all the positive stories, quotations, poems etc. written up about them as individuals and as a community. Someone must have compiled a database or list over the years.
What is the general sentiment of non-Jews towards the Jewish people around the world?
From a historical standpoint, what positive stories have people from ethnic European backgrounds, African, First Nations, Asian, Aborigines etc. honestly documented?

Grammar caveat, the Arabic pronoun هُوَ can be said to be a neutral pronoun also because it is used for things without a known gender for example the relative pronoun ما is often referred to with هو when gender is unknown or there is no gender to assign.

Well there is no literal meaning to life. This question is subjective, and usually revolves around the ego, or identity of a person.
In a sense it's just another question we ask our selves with many applicable answers that will make us feel content, or for that matter give us any desired emotional effects( positive or negative)
