@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN I've considered it but is just too big. I went from a S8 to a S9+ thinking it would be best and it was for a while, then upgraded to a S20+ and started wanting a smaller phone again. Managed to exchange the S20+ and get a S23 FE for free and it's just too big and heavy.
I've seen the 23 and 24 Ultra for really cheap to a point where I should just buy but the size is just not aligned with me. Maybe I will cause those prices are really good, but most likely not.

I am pretty sure, with a Snapdragon version you would have:
    - better GPS signal
    - better Carrier signal
    - better battery life
Last week I bought the S23 since we only have the S24 Exynos in Europe. I have seen Exynos versions having trouble with signal quality which leads to worse battery life. Don't get fooled by Wi-fi only reviews.

I've decided to go with the S24 and I love it. The size is perfect for ergonomics, I have DeX if I want to go big, and the hardware could be basically the same from year(s) past, yes, but on the bright side it means that all the little details are kinda perfected by now. And the software is the best in the Android world.
I literally keep discovering new features every week or so. All so integrated. The only Android brand that I know the has a lot of third part UA-cam channels just exploring the OS functions. There's always something new.
The system is so integrated. Their apps work better than Google counterparts. I recommend to dive in the routines, and the system indexation usage of the hashtags for files, images etc.
And 7 years of OS support is sweet. Only if they use that marvelous Motorola tech for charging (I've came from a Moto Edge 30 Ultra).

Excellent video. I upgraded this year from a 7 year old oneplus 5T to the S24. The difference is night and day. I don't face the GPS issues you did, and the battery life is phenomenal (maybe because I have the Snapdragon variant ? Not sure). I charge it once every 2 days, and that charge is from 15%-90%. The obvious reason that you are seeing worse battery life than the S23 is the crappy Exynos processor. It's also why you are seeing fluidity problems. I have no such problems on my S23 Plus nor did I on my S23U.
Earlier this year I had 2 x S24 Plus devices and they both exhibited slightly worse battery life and micro stutters in the UI. If the Exynos is so good, Samsung would have used it in the S24U, which they didn't. The Samsung modem that it uses is also rubbish with far worse than a SD device.

Pixels despite having Vanilla Android are notorious for having performance issues just in a few months into launch. Some third party apps are even better than Google's stock apps. Recent Samsung software is very stable from my experience. Clean yet Playful. As long as they allow us to delete their bloatware.

had the same with Google maps, it just loses the location, but I've done a lot of GPS testing and sensors, those are not at fault. Instead of Google maps I startet using Waze for navigation and never ever had a issue with it, so in my opinion it is something with Google maps and Samsung....

as a Samsung user the issue with the S line up is the fact they willingly make the base model inferior by using inferior camera sensors nd cooling system than the Ultra, that why comparing a basic S model and a basic iPhone, the iPhone will always be superior. I wish they go back the days of the S8 when they made the phone just bigger but offering the same experience on all variants

I love Sammy devices when they're just released. But, here's the thing: they become sluggish as they age. IDK why a device with 8-12+ GB of ram just goes to shit within 6 months -1 year of use... I gave the s24 Ultra a try, and it already had hang ups from the box, added to a subpar camera experience. If you have pets or kids, go with a Pixel or iPhone.

Personally I like the simplified approach of the pixel. As one who came from iOS back to android (I simply missed it too much), I'd grown to appreciate the simplified approach of iOS. So pixel 8 pro was the perfect blend of both worlds for me at least. And even now, I've considered going back to iPhone 16 but the pixel is making me feel "meh" about the idea. So while I understand how people would prefer the samsung over the pixel, the pixel is currently what's keeping me rooted as an android user in general.
Though, I have to say, just hearing "never gets warm to the touch" alone has made me start considering venturing back to the samsung flavor of android...

The gps signal is a problem also on my a55(?) work phone, so I'm guessing it could be fixed via software update. You can't call a phone that doesn't give you accurate gps location reliable. It's a must being a "smartphone". If it has some issues once in awhile I could understand but Samsung has gps problems all the time. I hate using it as a gps. And think that my work phone is a budget phone! Oh, yeah! And it looks and feels the same. 😂GG Samsung!!

I think Samsung has a similar design for all of their phone lines because they want to create an identity among their products.
I mean, I can easily identify a flagship Samsung and a midrange Samsung just by looking if the phone has thin or thick bezels. I don't see that as a problem.

Got the s24 Ultra after not using Samsung for like 6 years. Reminded now why I swapped after seeing how terrible and annoying their annoying apps, ads, and popups on their device. While the hardware is amazing and no one has the same quality of display, glass, and overall good cameras, I wish I had bought the Pixel for its better software and pure android experience. I used Sony Xperia before but they ruined the recent release, so it will be Pixel or a smaller brand after this one.
