I'm watching the stain reaction and just wanted to say, if you like the stain fight you should definitely check out Jojo's Bizarre Adventures, really great animation and is all about figuring about the enemy ability (edit: part 3 and forward is my point, but obv you have to start on part 1)
I always loved that moment where Endeavor demands if Bakugo was gonna make excuses if he failed someone (starting around 22:40) and said that if they didnt make it in time, they don’t get a bad grade. It hits so hard. Especially when you see how close that car came to hitting that woman.
I know right. I think that was one of the first signs that I liked endaevor. He is a bit like House. He may seem or be an asshole, however you woill almost always know or find out that he is right and if you listen you can truely learn from him. And that line for some reason just sticks with me.
Agreed. It's an example of him being his usual crass self that's completely warranted.
It’s always ironic to think about how if Endeavor was nicer as a person, he most likely would’ve been number one because he canonically catches more crime than All Might did when he was active.
Thats true. Popularity is a thing that was JUST discussed with PR in the last episode. How heroes are perceived matters.
If Endeavor was a nicer person then he never would've saved as many people as he did, and he never would have gotten as strong as he did. It's stated by Endeavor later on in the show and manga that his hatred is what kept him alive in every fight he's been in because he refused to be bested because he believed he deserved the number one spot. He wouldn't have fought as hard for the title of number one if he were nicer
Yeah, as powerful and skilled as he is, Endeavor has always lacked self-awareness. He’s more self aware now, but the fact that he’s gone most of his life chasing the title of number one with his attitude says a lot.
I love that Endeavor is the one person who can actually follow Midoriya's mumble-a-thons. Even All Might tends to tune him out or cut him off when he really gets going.
If you listen to Izuku's mumbling, and pay attention, it's not that hard to understand him, so for Endeavour to be the only person to literally just *listen to him* is interesting
When the concept of getting stronger comes up, Endeavor is all ears.
I do have to say, I was surprised that Endeavor didn't find catching petty criminals and solving minor crimes beneath him, especially before he wanted to change. But then I remembered it was stated that he solved the most crimes out of any hero, including All Might. And considering how quickly and efficiently we see him work, that's pretty understandable.
Yeah he probably sees hero work like a completionist type of gamer, except, crime never ends, so he'll keep going on and on till retirement 😅

He's basically the Batman to All Might's Superman, only that there's a self-imposed "competition" about hero work in him (while Bats and Supes both think themselves utterly incapable of measuring up to each other, for different reasons)

Just to add some attention to this.

100,000 rowdy rebels is a big job for heroes to handle, for sure.

Way back in season two, the parallels between Deku and Bakugo/All Might and Endeavor were first brought up, and I said I'd have more to say when we reached season five.
HERE IT IS. While the obvious parallels regarding general attitudes are obviously Deku/All Might and Bakugo/Endeavor, when it comes to power and progression, it's actually the other way around.
Whereas All Might and Bakugo are examples of natural talents who picked up their Quirks pretty much immediately, Deku and Endeavor had to work more for it to get to where they are now. It's how and why Endeavor, after sitting through one of Deku's ramblings about how OFA works for him, he's able TO INSTANTLY tell him EXACTLY what he needs to do to improve.
I just really like how Horikoshi wrote this dynamic and how, even though Deku and Endeavor have completely differentpersonalitie, they're still able to find common ground.

Horikoshi is excellent at showing how people have multiple layers and facets and that the archetypes we’re used to seeing in media are dangerous to apply to real people; because real people are a mismatch of traits form different “types” rather than being a bundle of traits that all make sense together.

To be fair, All Might probably did have to work super hard if his training with Deku is anything to go by.
Thing is that Endeavor is somewhat wrong. All Might’s quirk didn’t come naturally to him. He was born quirkles, and if team up missions and Midoriya’s training is anything to go by, All Might absolutely had to train as hard as Endeavor did. Just in a different kinda way.
The fact that endeavor doesn't want credit for their success and that its congratulatory to their hard work individually is quite humble
I always understood Endeavour along the lines of "I can clean up any mess you make," which I think is a great thing for students in this situation because it encourages them to go freely trough process of trial and error without thinking about messing up, which will in the end make them grow more.
This episode kinda confirmed to me that on a technical level, Endeavour is far better teacher when he tries than All Might. I guess their difference in teaching comes up in real world where geniuses are generally worse teachers than regular people since they don't have the know-how of dealing with obstacles that regular people have. That Idea is actually perfectly shown trough Endeavour's explanation of learning process to Deku and relating it to himself while making comparison to All Might.

You are definitely right. All might definitely is not as good of a teacher. This was shown at the very beginning of the series when he gives it to Deku. He has all of his questions on how the power should work and All Might is just like “I don’t know… I just picked it up immediately, right off the bat..” 😂😂
@@TheRaineyMan Exactly. All Might is great role model and heroic inspiration, but a terrible teacher, although he improved a bit later on.
This arc demonstrates something Horikoshi mentioned once. He considered making Endeavor a UA teacher but decided that the heroes there would be too strong if they had him. He’s a fantastic teacher and hero and the students would be incredibly more well off if they had his instruction
26:15 Even with Montana's objection to the way Endeavor said it, I would still argue that he still said it the best way possible for his current students. You have to remember Bakugo is there and he's already made it obvious with his reactions to Deku that gentle encouragement is not his style and Deku rolling with it means that he can deal with a rough approach and Shouto straight up told Endeavor to not treat him differently than the other two, thus you get that particular speech
It also ties into what Endeavor said to Bakugou previously. You can't make excuses like "It takes time for me to warm up in the Winter," because people will die if you're not quick enough.
Endeavor is saying they can mess up and fumble as many times as they need under his watch, because he won't let anyone die or get hurt until they've managed to level up.

Like I said before, Endeavor really excels in the world of hero work and fighting. When Fuyumi was talking about how stubborn he is, I guess this is what she meant. His job and unrealistic goal are really the only places where he never gives up and has the most understanding.
He may have given up on his family super easily, but he’s definitely not the type to give up on himself or his ability. And that really shows in how he teaches.
I've always liked the choice to have endeavor actually kind of get Deku and empathize with him for having a difficult quirk, it makes Endeavor a much more multi-faceted character
Seeing Endeavor stopping a truck is a core memory for me.
The way I see endeavors words is like no matter how much or bad you mess up it won't affect me since I *will* save the day (since if they were capable of beating him he wouldn't have to worry)

This is also what Endeavor is, not just great in the hype fights, but is also a great mentor now to Deku and the others

The music swelling as it shows all of the students doing their work study unaware, after just explaining that they’re secretly being trained for war… CHILLS
It gave me chills the first time but rewatching it is a whole different beast. God this show is good
Also yeah if you look at movesets alone Deku ironically a lot more like Endeavor than All Might. Endeavor’s attacks release different amounts of energy as well as channel them into different forms, like Flashfire Fist being a superheated punch, Prominence being a nuke, and Hellspider being firewhips. Endeavor is bizarrely a much more fitting teacher for Deku than All Might is. Then of course there’s the aspect that they’ll both hurt themselves and the people around them if they’re not careful.
It also has to be refreshing for Endeavor to meet someone who’s eager to learn every aspect of his power since he spent so long being frustrated at Shouto for suppressing half of his.
Shoto telling Endeavor point blank that this doesn’t change anything and that he’s just using him is always such a satisfying moment. He’s such a great freaking character… AHHHHH
He didn't just say failure he said failure or success is on them so very good imo
We get little blips of other work studies and I just wanted to address the split second screenshots. (I made a 2 parter separate for the episode itself)
-Tokoyami is with Hawks sidekicks and the side heroes that fought the high end in Kyushu.
-Uraraka and Tsu have rejoined Nejire and Ryukyu and a sidekick that was in the Overhaul raid. They wanted to go back and Ryukyu did really trust the two of them fully in season 4.
-Iida has been reaccepted into Hosu and is working with Manual again. Iida wants to make up to them the trouble he made in the Stain incident doubtlessly. And they know better than anyone he wants that.
-Fat Gum fulfilled his promise to take back Kirishima and looks like Tetsu wanted to go with. (I see Amajiki tucked in the corner there)
-Edgeshot, Kamui Woods, and Mount Lady have accepted Kaminari, Sero, Mineta, and Shiozaki and you can probably figure out who wanted who. Kamui wanted Sero and accepted Mount Lady’s advice Shiozaki would be a good fit for him back in the sports festival. Mount Lady likely wanted Mineta back and Kaminari paired up with Mineta. (Looking back on the public training episode, Mineta and Mount Lady did seem happy to see each other and Mount Lady likely saw Mineta calling her out as a challenge she wanted to accept to prove she’s not just tv happy)
-This one is interesting. Shishida looks like he’s introducing Sato, Ojiro, and Shoda to what I HAVE to assume is his family agency. The guy next to him looks like his brother since they’re the same height and exact same color scheme skin and hair. Maybe the yellow tiger hero is his dad?
-Gang Orca has hired Jiro and Shoji the two major scouts to match his echolocation. They are going to benefit a LOT from him…and Sonic the Hedgehog from the looks of it.
-I can’t believe Wash is appearing on anything OTHER than a commercial (SERIOUSLY WHAT MAKES HIM A TOP 10 PRO) with Koda and Manga Fukidashi. Are they learning voice control from WASH?! That’s what they have in common, they have vocal quirks! And…a sidekick that appears to have AFO’s injury or born with no eyes, nose, ears, and WHAT AM I LOOKING AT.
-The Hero named Majestic has accepted both intelligence recommendation students Momo and Tokage. That’s a GREAT pair to take on. He’s sitting on a ring platform so maybe Tokage learned how to FLY from the guy I guess. (Doubtful. She was WAY too good at it for it to be new in the AvB fight)
-The #9 hero Yoroi Musha took on Hagakure, Aoyama, and Mina in…what I assume is his own personal Japanese garden based on his aesthetic.
-Pony and Monoma have paired off. (I’m going to assume that the pairs with no heroes got teamed up with a UA teacher on the field. So let’s assume Vlad King knowing Monoma)
-Hiryu Rin and Awase are with let’s assume Cementoss (this is an assumption I don’t know for sure)
-Komori paired up with Kuroiro (awww he’s…assuming he’s blushing. Kuroiro has a crush on her) and if I were to pick a teacher I’d pick probably Midnight
-Tsuburaba, Kaibara, and Kamakiri are together I WANT to pick Power Loader but I know what he’s doing. I’m thinking Snipe or Present Mic. Leaning Snipe because he REALLY rounds up this group well.
-Honenuki and Kodai are together. I’d go with Ectoplasm is with them
-Kendo and Yanagi are paired off with what I can ASSUME is a magical girl reference and Huntress from the Justice League. (Neither Kendo OR Momo wished to go back to Uwabami their intern hero. XD they knew better)
-Bondo HAS to be with his family. That is THREE glue heads on screen. One with a beard and one with long hair so let’s assume those are his parents
-KETSUBUTSU ACADEMY IS BACK. That’s Yo Shindo the vibration kid, Nakagame who tucks her body in on itself (still REALLY weird), Toteki (boomerang throws) and Makabe (stiffens. So anti Honenuki) are all training in the mountains and must still be with Ms Joke
-MY BOY INASA is with Camie and Shishikura in a snowy forest with let’s assume their teacher. No sign of the hair guy Mora. Which is a shame since this is probably his element
-And Mirio is alone but Bubble Girl and Centipeter have a spot reserved for him one day. (And not Deku poor guy.)
I bring all this up because THERE WAS OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE THIS. And sadly it wasn’t so this is all you get of almost all these characters doing their work studies. Sadly there is no Stain arc style episode that looked into this. (Which I’m bracing for impact on THAT wonderful subject next episode for completely non aggravating reasons that make me want to pull out my hair)
This was a ton of awesome breakdowns, but I still don't get your distaste for what I'm guessing is the upcoming Selkie episode.
I guess I'll find out.
@@HaydrogenBomb24 FINALLY got the 3rd part to stop fighting me. As for the Selkie episode, it’s the source of season 5’s issues in this arc and next.
Bakugo and Todoroki have solid control over their quirks. That had it for 12 years. Ap Shot and flash fire are great examples of it. But their output is not that much (comparatively speaking to Deku), meanwhile Deku's output is well at the top of the world, there is only one person on the planet who can take a 100% punch from his and live (And that's a big maybe).
But his control over his power is very weak allowing him to only use 10% of it.
I love how Montana is a literal blank slate by the next episode of almost any show she reacts to. Makes her reactions just a bit more entertaining ngl 😅
From watching the sub, what Endeavor says at the end could be taken as indirect reassurence that they shouldn't be afraid of their mistakes and shortcomings costing a life during this work-study, that he's good enough to make up for their mishaps on the field.

I don't think this is a spoiler since they already know what happened to him but Endeavor wasn't only talking about himself when he said that Midoria wasn't alone but he was also talking about Toya who couldn't control his fire and would get seriously burned.
U sure that's not something u thought up urself buddy, bcoz the dialogue might just be about him and u thought of Toya, unless maybe there's something that he says that adds on to the dialogue later on that I don't remember

I love how Shouto's hero outfit has some foreshadowing involved in it.
i feel you montana ... for example the game "I Spy With My Little Eye" is called in german "ich sehe was was du nicht siehst" -> "I can see what you can not see" and as a child i never understood how I should guess what you see by pointing with my fingers towards things i can see when the game clearly says i cant see these tings ...
Endevour/ Hardwork vs All Might/Pure Talent
25:50 the dub did a terrible job at translating this one 😅. What Endeavor really said was more on the lines of:
What? Don't be afraid to fail. Whether you 3 succeed or fail to improve your quirk will not affect my work as Hero.
Basically they can forget about responsibility and repercussions to a certain matter and try freely to become better as they work for him.
The dub regularly does Endeavor dirty compared to the subs. This scene and the texting Shoto scene from a few episodes ago are prime examples.

It's a fire mesh.
I was forced into a 3 parter just from that ONE segment of all the work studies. Rest is just one off field and one on field segment.
Endeavor gives us SUPER cool intel on how agency’s are run. He breaks it up differently than I have with the 4 hero classes but that’s what he’s talking about. And his policy to do EVERYTHING is what makes the symbol class be reached. (Is anyone going to mention Endeavor and Bakugo walk with IDENTICAL struts? Because that’s amazing) He talks about how he keeps the public away from his fights with his flames. Flames in the city are actually often not that hard to contain and everyone knows “Don’t touch fire.” And keep reasonable distance. Endeavor also subsides something that’s suspected of him. DOES he wait for things to get worse for more glory, DOES he only tackle big incidents. NO. He takes this job to the maximum seriousness and every incident matters. He doesn’t do community work sure, but this also makes perfect sense.
Endeavor shows his experience with a simple hit and run suspect. The MOMENT something starts he heats up the ENTIRE WAY to the scene while building up speed with NO slowing down. (Bakugo is not thrilled his style is so close but substantially slower) Shoto tries combining his powers RIGHT away. He ALWAYS alternates with ONLY using both in crisis to team up with Inasa and only for the briefest of moments. Now there’s really not much excuse to not TRY. And Endeavor shows them WHY the public doesn’t trust heroes in full despite how LOW the collateral is in the incidents across the show too. 90% security isn’t an A. That means the 10% you FAILED AND IS IN RUIN. 1 life lost out of 100 saved isn’t good enough. A house destroyed in battle when there’s a whole city isn’t good enough.
Store, condense, and fire. Maximum output shouldn’t be as much to build to. The more you do instinctively, the more layers you can add to that pile. Focus precision. And the BEST LESSON THE KIDS LEARN IN THE WHOLE DANG SHOW. Parallel processing. How we master ANYTHING. They are being taught HOW TO LEARN. That is probably THE best lesson ANYONE can get period and it’s how to advance yourself. Your brain does SO MUCH switching and utilizing the stacking without overload is just GENIUS to put into terms of being a hero. It’s WHY this job consists of like A DOZEN JOBS in our world equivalent. And to acknowledge All-Might as the EXCEPTION when we’ve seen otherwise is JUST as brilliant because his skill is just THAT much on another level with the demand for Deku to reach THAT.
I think I have to put this episode in my top 5 of the season. There’s not an INSTANT of this episode even if it’s all conversation that doesn’t plug EVERYTHING the show has given us into it. I remember this one sticking with me for some reason with nothing happening and now I remember. I think I actually started utilizing a good amount of the subjects in my day to day. It’s fantastic.
Sometimes, I REALLY wish Endeavor didn't have the whole "family abuser" plotline cause with stuff like this, and how objectively great of a hero he is, these attributes would be recognized WAY more.
Instead, all people focus on is either his past or his development.
@@HaydrogenBomb24if it didn’t create some of the most complicated and nuanced subjects in the show that create great points on either side, I’d agree. I like Endeavor for the same reason I like All-Might. The complications ABSOLUTELY make the character and it really makes you want to explore their mindsets, agree or disagree.
@Kaempfdog Like I said, "sometimes." I recognize the nuance of the writing of this character, but I also recognize that it's all anyone cares about when it comes to Endeavor. Anytime his objectively incredible heroic traits and midsets come into conversation, it's always overshadowed by his sins and family drama, and I can't help but think that's a shame.
I'm with Montana. If the person doesn't clarify what they're asking about how the F am I supposed to know. My gf be mad I can't read her mind when she's hopping from subjects like a frog in heat

I think that last Endeavor dialogue was slightly different in the sub. I think he said something like "you can fail now because I'll be there to cover your mistakes" or at least that's how I took it
Hmm, thinking about it after all izuku learned from all might, endeavor is a pretty good choice, not only a high ranked hero, but one with a power that is strong, but you build up to make youself a good and efficient hero, i can see that as an interpretation on endeavor saying hes had trouble with his quirk and hes not alone, in a way, look past all might and having all for one, endeavor is defenitely a top hero when it comes to resolving issues by yourself, even with a power that can be dangerous for bystanders and yourself,
Say what you will about Endeavor, he’s great at what he does. He was second to All Might for a reason.

Ive found this to be a regular issue with MHA fans/Endeavor. Ita not that hes the worst most irredeemable character in the series, but that his specific crimes are triggering for people and that adds to/worsens their reactions. Few of us have dealt with the ramifications of a serial killer's rampage. Butbalmost everyone knows someone that was abused. You'll see fans all across the internet ready to accept and redeem proud killers like Shiggy, Dabi, and Toga but come down hard in a guy who has always been a hero and doesnt go to those lengths. A guy who seeks his own redemption and actually feels guilt. Just because he doesnt have a sad backstory thats shared. @LettsReact

Essentially, people project the feelings that they have towards their own personal situations on stories/characters that remind them of those.
But the way Endeavor is written - even at this stage of the story - indicates that he's already heading towards a different direction, than the one that I assume Montana's dad continued on.
Montana's antipathy towards her own history definitely shines through the way she talks about Endeavor - permanently annoyed and critical, even in moments where that character hasn't done anything to warrant that annoyance.
(Hopefully unnecessary) disclaimer: Obviously Montana is free to dislike whichever character she wants for whatever reason she wants. And this is a reaction channel, where genuine reactions are what I personally want as an audience member.
That being said, her reactions towards Endeavor often feel jarring, because I more used to her discussing other controversial characters/situations, in a much less... "adamantly negative" and instead in a more nuanced manner before.
Aka. judging what's actually happening on the screen in that moment more fairly.
In short: I think Montana may know parents like how Endeavor used to be better than most people, but that doesn't mean she isn't biased towards Endeavor. In this case, she seems to be biased, precisely because she had the misfortune of growing up with a parent who failed their parental role massively.
It is a very human response though, and how I've seen most people react towards things that they relate to their personal negative experiences.

Alright we’re getting into official Endeavor training today! This’ll be a 3 parter. 2 for the episode itself and what I found in the work studies screenshots. There’s just SO MANY subjects and none of it can be left out.
This is Deku’s SECOND interaction with a competent personal teacher in the show. Gran Torino and Endeavor are the two big ones. (Not so much Sir Nighteye and of course ABSOLUTELY NOT All-Might.)
But 1st we got Hawks going to a meeting with the heads of this…incredibly high level organization. He’s still gotta keep up appearances while passing intel to trusted heroes. Theres a number of completely new faces at this table of higher ups WITH the league. The league doesn’t seem as interested in or even be well informed about the talks of “Destro” and the “Liberation.” Well. Spinner seems to be working on team morale. It’s just so strange to see the league in an environment like this one because they were hiding in various warehouses up til now, and they appear to be fully funded now. And they are also talking about Shigaraki being the one taking the lead. We haven’t seen Shigaraki with this kind of manpower since the USJ incident. Hawks is getting FLOODED with intel and providing it two ways. And with Japan on the line, there’s only one thought to be said. WHOA WHOA ITS ALRIGHT EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT. (I’ll try not to do this TOO much but that got me good.)
Now that Endeavor has identified that an army of 100,000 likely ON PAR with the pro heroes we FINALLY have one of the mysteries presented to us an answer. Why are the work studies concerning EVERYONE. Well…in order to have the numbers needed to match such an organization…they already ran out of adults. 100,000 is FAR too huge of a number to counter in anything BUT one giant surprise attack. And the kids are essentially getting trained to be soldiers. THAT is how desperate it feels. Endeavor was warned by the safety commission, and instead of leaving his sidekicks to Deku and Bakugo, now takes it all on himself. And Hawks while absolutely concerned, thinks that Tokoyami is certainly a strong student and he cares for him deeply, also knows that EVERY ONE OF HIS PEERS try to match him and each other EVERYDAY to be better and stronger. Endeavor decides to take Todoroki, Bakugo, and Deku aside to learn what they’re learning, what they WANT to learn, and at the most proficient pace possible.
Endeavor gives Deku his undivided attention as Deku tries to explain THE SINGLE MOST COMPLICATED SUPERPOWER IN FICTION. Between the percentages, air currents, OTHER QUIRKS THAT CAN’T PUBLICLY BE EXPLAINED AS QUIRKS (Hence Bakugo giving him the BIG stink eye when he starts talking about Blackwhip) and just the COUNTLESS variations of using OFA while NOT EVEN BEING ALLOWED TO CALL IT STOCKPILE. (Also Deku has moved up to 10-15% full cowling! This doesn’t change his level because 20% remains his max control for now. 10% is 460 mph of the Mach 6 100% level he used in the infinite 100% episode, and 15% is 690 mph just shy of Mach 1. And his 20% max control remains Mach 1.2) And Endeavor actually COMPLETELY relates as someone who is ALSO in complete moderation of his quirk due to his overheating recoil. He knows he CAN help him with this. (Little does he know Deku can and WILL surpass him in FAST as his control gains putting him closer and closer to All-Might levels) And I think Endeavor actually fully appreciates the kind of person Deku is. And I think he did even in his non development days too because he saw just how hard Deku tried to beat Shoto despite the pain he endured. It’s kinda how Endeavor has tried to rival All-Might all these years even to NO WHERE NEAR the success Deku had rivaling his son. (Bakugo is dying inside the entire conversation and REALLY doesn’t want to listen to a WORD of what Deku says. Like a true bestie. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THEY SEE A SOFT SIDE FOR DEKU WITH HIM?! BECAUSE ITS DEFINITELY NOT THERE)
Bakugo feels like he’s mastered all he has in his arsenal and wants to find more exploration, utilization, and iron out the chinks as soon as possible. Burnin loves this explanation. And I assume because there is NO ONE in the room that doesn’t see the similarities between him and Endeavor. (Bakugo also totally drops the ball while talking about himself essentially saying he’s the only one of the 3 that doesn’t have more than one quirk. Way to go genius, you give Deku stink eye for talking about it then say ONE OF THE BIG SECRETS OUT LOUD. Thankfully no one catches it) Endeavor obviously knows he’s looking at the kind of person he once was now that he’s trying to grow beyond it. Being a Bakugo level of ambition is only fine to a certain extent and BOTH he and Endeavor have taken it too far.
And Endeavor immediately TRIES to assume what Shoto wants. He told him that he can only explore ice so far before he can’t progress without learning more about the fire. Which Flashfire is the perfect lesson for that. Shoto turns on that assumption and while he ACCEPTS it, he takes all emotional attachment out and airs his personal side of the family drama RIGHT OUT in front of the sidekicks. He tells Endeavor there shouldn’t be emotional attachment for the other two because there was next to NONE with HIS CHILDREN. (Sorry Shoto but it’s too late buddy. Endeavor probably relates to Deku and Bakugo more than his own children with the horrific past. It’s WHY he’s trying to connect now because he knows how messed up it was he DIDN’T before and he has NO IDEA HOW with Shoto and his siblings yet) Endeavor accepts his shortcomings that Enji Todoroki not being accepted means this is his relationship with his family as he makes his efforts for now.
And the sad thing is that the sidekicks are unphased. They’ve known about this and chose to work with Endeavor regardless. I have no doubts. I theorize that BECAUSE of how active the Endeavor Agency HAS to be they all know the struggles and strains of not being around your family, friends, and having your personal life sorted out. To be Endeavor’s top sidekicks…your job is your life. This is more of a family than the Todoroki’s in all likelihood. They probably gave up really being around their family’s outside holidays. For demanding jobs like this there’s few options. And Endeavor’s arrogance was trying to have it all and then he crashed and burned when he couldn’t maintain it all himself. Not even All-Might tried to do it all. He never appeared to have a family outside Nana and Gran Torino. And if he did, that means he gave up his family to BE All-Might. He talks of Nana like his mother and makes no mention of his ACTUAL mother. And since he was so driven to help BEFORE Nana, he may have been RAISED to be that caring. (Just because you lose touch with your family doesn’t mean you don’t care or they don’t care. And if BOTH did, THAT is All-Might’s tragic backstory) He only started proper familial connections WHEN Deku arrived in his life and he had all but stopped being All-Might and was asked to. It’s what lets him focus on Deku. (Still crazy for not teaching him OFA’s history and giving him the UNBELIEVABLY reckless hero lessons but he’s always done it with the best intentions and highest of care. Being a good dad and a smart dad are also not synonymous.)
damn I really related to Montanas pilot dad story with a bad father dotes over another child that hasn't seen his bad side, I never really looked at it that way but now I can draw comparisons to my own dad

It's easier to root for someone's downfall rather than accepting their efforts for change over time. Time is factor we sometimes fail to see in other people but is easy see in ourselves. Endeavor at this point has shown so much growth from where he was at the battle of Kamino, to speaking with All Might about symbols, to the battle vs. the High End, and the changes he's putting into his family and speaking to Natsuo. In no way is Endeavor perfect, but he isn't the same man as he was before and I too hope that they can at least remember that.
I agree, but remember her dad was pretty shitty to her, so the Todoroki situation must be triggering.

I took Endeavor’s words as more of a I provide you with training and lessons but it’s up to you to use those to get stronger so whether you succeed or fail is not a reflection of me to me he’s saying that he is not their failure nor is he their success at least that’s how I view it.
