Double Drama in Cairns (Australia Ep.7)

- We're in Cairns on the north east coast of Australia and it's double the drama for us, first high above the rainforest in a cable car, then under water in the great barrier reef. It's a really exciting end to our Australian holiday.

Another great video the rainforest in Queensland is a fantastic place, I found the noise from the forest amazingly loud. We also went on that cable car ride, on on of the boardwalks there was a section cordoned off with a warden standing there, it didn’t take long to spot the spider in its web in the roof of the boardwalk. It was the size of my hand, and I’ve got big hands (9 inches across thumb tip to little finger tip) I asked if the spider was dangerous her answer was “Nah, it won’t kill yer, but it’ll make you real sick” I gave it a wide birth.
And snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef has been one of the best things I’ve ever done, a fantastic experience. I wish I was back there right now. Enjoy yourselves

Can it get any better? Wonderful episode and bringing back so many memories. Will be thinking very seriously about a return trip to Cairns before I get too old. Brilliant vlog. We went on a cable car ride in Singapore to Sentosa Island when the cable car stopped both times over the highway!!! A tad worrying! When in Cairns on the same « Triangle Tour » from Zimbabwe way back in 1994, we did the train from Cairns to Kuranda which was brilliant. Takes me back a bit😊
We would liked to have done the train but decided to do the cable car instead. That musthave been a wee bit scary being over the motorway...yikes 😬

We are back home now and hard frost here too. We had 32 degrees over there one day and it's still just their late spring.
The Barron River is the one the cable car goes over, the Daintree river from your prev vlog is about 1.5 hrs north. And it’s down on coast not up on the range as that part of the Barron.
Thanks, I should have realised that since we stopped for a while at the Barron Falls which was a pretty big clue what river it was.

Yes it was and we loved it. Whether or not we come back largely depends on if our daughter stays longer term.
