And as we see from this episode, Airi is the one who cheated and not her husband. Loophole for what we should know: ‐Taiki is 20, the twins are 16 turning 17 soon. Taiki was 5 when his parents died. Ai was murdered when the twins were 3 turning 4 as Ai just turn 20. From this alone that means the father should have beem dead when the twins were 2, but then how would Ai contacted their father days before her murder. Remember she gave him the address in which turn, Ryosuke (the stalker) found her home. So many people didn't catch that and it is golden.

If Himekawa is telling the truth and he means what he says simple math breaks Aqua 5 years old when his parents died Ai died at 20 the kids were 3 turning 4 cause they started School Taiki is 20 and Aqua is 16 turning 17 the difference is 3 years and couple months that means that when Taiki was 5 the kids were 2 if the kids were 2 when Uehara died then Uehara can't be their dad, end of story, because we know as an audience Ai was talking to the dad the day before she died, so even if Aqua doesn't know that, we do its crazy how much people don't understand this

It's literally not that one, akane's hair and outfit is the exact same as the date in this episode. That picture in Kana's phone basically implies that the Akane date in this chapter happens before the Kana date considering they've already taken the photo. And that is the sequence in the manga too. Aquaka date comes first with the intention of ending their work relationship but the thing about Aqua's father comes up and it's pushed into the periphery. Then comes the Kana date.

The timeline in the manga is like this, kana ask aqua to go out shopping for luggage with him -> he denied her saying he already has a date with akane and went off -> then the entire sequence we see in the 2nd half happen -> lastly only kana and aqua rearrange a 2nd time to meet for the luggage date after aqua denied her the first. They most probably rearrange the sequence to make the dad reveal as the impact scene of this ep, which works pretty well I would say.
@@Juice1984 of course not, lmao 😭😭 the reservation was still for kana, I don't think it's that obvious in the anime but when I was reading the manga, it was clear that aqua was going his way out in this date with kana, he was just playing hard to get when he told her they're done for the day because he knew she'd want to eat before leaving, if that makes sense! plus, adding to what someone already said, the anime removed a little bit of the scenes and polished it, assumingly to be able to fit all this in one episode since there's quite a lot to adapt in the next 2 episodes and they couldn't afford to split this episode into 2.

I’m leaving this comment here AFTER watching the episode myself, but BEFORE watching the reaction: I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT!!! I knew that the dates didn’t match and that Aqua (and Himekawa) supposed father, (Uehara) would have been dead for like a few months, if not a year or more before AI’s murder, if Himekawa informations are correct… Now my theory is that sure, the DNA test results are accurate, Aqua and Himekawa ARE indeed brothers who share the same father BUT Himekawa thinks that her mother’s husband (Uehara) is his biological father, which he isn’t… And that’s probably because his mother was seduced by this as*hole and became pregnant… She was initially able to fool Uehara making him think that the baby (Himekawa) was his, but then, when he was 5 something happened: maybe he was hospitalized and/or needed a blood transfusion or something like that, (Could also be something that directly involves DNA , but I feel that something regarding a different blood type would be more likely) and that’s when Uehara realized that Himekawa was not his son and his wife had been cheating on him… So, in a fit of rage he killed her and then killed himself… That’s how I think things went, more or less… (I could also very much be HORRIBLY wrong) And I was right when I thought that Aqua didn’t dig enough, didn’t investigate properly, because he was subconsciously trying to find a way out, thinking something like: “Okay, they’ve just told me he’s dead, so I won’t ask any further and unnecessary questions, but just accept the fact that he’s not longer alive and take this opportunity to finally be able to live my life to the fullest like I’ve always wanted… TBF we also know that that bastard and Ai talked to the phone just a few days before AI’s death, while Aqua doesn’t…
You have most of what you posted but one point is wrong. Spoiler It was the mother who had the affair with Aqua and Ruby's father. Also it is also very dark and you will found out why in season 3.
I don't think you need to be interested in "romancing" someone in order to prove that you love them. I've seen and heard a lot of stories about women that only do the romance thing because their partner like it, and yet they still love their partners. Your partner is also the biggest support for you. You can learn to like romancing that partner later just like how you can learn to love someone more and more after spending time with them. This even happens with people who had arranged marriage. Linking "wanting to romance someone" with "how much they actually Love them" is a fallacy.
oh yes and we'll see what happens and the conclusion in the season 2 finale. I mean Aka and Mengo lined up the season one finale with the "reveal" in the manga. I know I can't say too much more, but Aka and Mengo are going to line up another "CHAPTER" in the season 2 finale.
Keep in mind, while the father looks older, quite a bit of time has passed since Ai's pregnancy. So just based on that, think how old he would have been 16 - 17 years ago cause that's when he was with Ai. Edit: Also Taiki is 20, so he got another woman pregro 20 years ago. What I love about this show is that I never know what tone things were going to take. I was anxious about Aqua breaking up with Akane, thinking it would be one of those anime things where he doesn't get around to it and two times the girls. Then for some reason I thought Akane might crash out (This is the same girl that said "sure, I'll kill a mf") faces were gonna get cut, but she took it pretty well. I should have known better 😂
Whether Ai was on the younger side or not was never confirmed. You can't say he's definitely older when Ai died more than 10 years ago and wasn't able to actually grow and age.
I like how you explained their reasoning about Aqua and Akane's relationship with Aqua and Kana's and I think the same. With Akane, the situation with Aqua is more negative and toxic although interesting, whereas with Kana it's like that moment where Aqua can relax and let loose a little, which I find adorable. I understand why both teams, but I'm going with Team Kana because of that cute and comic vibe they give off
Let's eliminate Akane's influence entirely and see how "relaxing and letting loose" would impact the events in the story, especially while a serial killer is on the loose. Fun fact: the graveyard scene at the end of season 1 and beginning of season 2 is the same scene at this episode.
It's not the same scene, that scene happened at the start of season 2. This was a different visit to Ai's grave.

I knew that the dates didn’t match and that Aqua (and Himekawa) supposed father, (Uehara) would have been dead for like a few months, if not a year or more before AI’s murder, if Himekawa informations are correct… Now my theory is that sure, the DNA test results are accurate, Aqua and Himekawa ARE indeed brothers who share the same father BUT Himekawa thinks that her mother’s husband (Uehara) is his biological father, which he isn’t… And that’s probably because his mother was seduced by this as*hole and became pregnant… She was initially able to fool Uehara making him think that the baby (Himekawa) was his, but then, when he was 5 something happened: maybe he was hospitalized and/or needed a blood transfusion or something like that, (Could also be something that directly involves DNA , but I feel that something regarding a different blood type would be more likely)
and that’s when Uehara realized that Himekawa was not his son and his wife had been cheating on him… So, in a fit of rage he killed her and then killed himself… That’s how I think things went, more or less… (I could also very much be HORRIBLY wrong)
And I was right when I thought that Aqua didn’t dig enough, didn’t investigate properly, because he was subconsciously trying to find a way out, thinking something like: “Okay, they’ve just told me he’s dead, so I won’t ask any further and unnecessary questions, but just accept the fact that he’s not longer alive and take this opportunity to finally be able to live my life to the fullest like I’ve always wanted…
TBF we also know that that bastard and Ai talked to the phone just a few days before AI’s death, while Aqua doesn’t…

I don't think you need to be interested in "romancing" someone in order to prove that you love them. I've seen and heard a lot of stories about women that only do the romance thing because their partner like it, and yet they still love their partners. Your partner is also the biggest support for you. You can learn to like romancing that partner later just like how you can learn to love someone more and more after spending time with them. This even happens with people who had arranged marriage.

What I love about this show is that I never know what tone things were going to take. I was anxious about Aqua breaking up with Akane, thinking it would be one of those anime things where he doesn't get around to it and two times the girls. Then for some reason I thought Akane might crash out (This is the same girl that said "sure, I'll kill a mf") faces were gonna get cut, but she took it pretty well. I should have known better 😂

I like how you explained their reasoning about Aqua and Akane's relationship with Aqua and Kana's and I think the same.
With Akane, the situation with Aqua is more negative and toxic although interesting, whereas with Kana it's like that moment where Aqua can relax and let loose a little, which I find adorable. I understand why both teams, but I'm going with Team Kana because of that cute and comic vibe they give off
I'm not on any shipping team and just root for the girls as individuals. I think Aqua need to sort himself out, so I'm fine with no romance endgame.
Let's eliminate Akane's influence entirely and see how "relaxing and letting loose" would impact the events in the story, especially while a serial killer is on the loose.
