Mary, I feel your pain, getting old is not for the faint of heart! About 6 weeks ago I fell on my little 2 wheel scooter trying to navigate the curb. I landed on my left side and cracked 5 ribs. I made in the house and fell asleep on the couch. The next morning I got up and coughed hard fracturing all 5 ribs and deflating my lung. I got out of the Hospital 2 weeks later. I am on oxygen 24/7 and haven't left the house since. ❤❤ Good luck with your recovery!
Oh my goodness, hope you get better soon. I had a collapsed lung on Oct 3. I got to come home 12 days later and I'm doing good and thanking God for every day. Mary, take.care and hope you get better soon.
Log splitters can be as dangerous as table saw. I had an entire piece of plywood shoot back and hit me hard in the stomach. I've had wood shoot 15+ feet. So glad Mary didn't get hurt worse, teeth knocked out, stick in the eyes, broken nose, could have been real bad. I noticed your log splitter is up real high versus down low to the ground.

Oh my goodness Mary! I’m so sorry! I had something similar happen like that before. I know how bad that hurts. Mine swelled so bad I couldn’t hardly eat or drink. I hope you’re able to tough through it and prayerfully recover quickly. If you have ibuprofen and can take it, it will help with the swelling and pain. Take care sweet lady. 🙏🫶

Gumby, take a gander @ "SPLIT FIRE" out of Canada, they've modified the "block" to be similar to the "wedge" so the pop out is minimalized, with the skills THE GOOD LORD has granted you, you might be able to take your torch to heat the block, and using your welder, modify the block with a pile up of weld or a piece wedge, so that pop out is minimalized
