    Bob Harlan is the one person who literally turned this franchise around. Ron Wolfe implements his way of doing the scouting and his philosophy regarding the QB position. Ted was a scout for Ron. Brian was a scout for Ted. Guys like Andy Reid learned from this tree. John Schneider... The list goes on. Bob Harlan, a legend.

      @@erickthefantabulous1 Ro. Wolf was the architect, but it takes a smart man to find a Ron Wolf and then stay out of his way so he can work his magic. The most important factor here is the Packers not having an owner who can step in and micromanage. If they did, Rodgers and Love never happen.

    The Lombardi Championship Trophy is called Lombardi for a reason. Coach Lombardi was one of the greatest NFL coaches of all time and set the standard at Green Bay Franchise. Not many player distractions in GB ..just pure, football the way it was meant to be. The team is run like a corporation governed by a community board. It is a great business model with results that speak for themselves.

    The only minus in Green Bay is the fact is that the defense every few years has been rebuilt. If the Packers front office can build a consistent defense year by year, being innovative yet tough to run or pass against, then a DYNASTY becomes a realistic possibility!

    Green Bay cap space in 2026 is 30 million, Lions 70 million, Vikings 90 million, Bears 140 million. Going to be tough for Green Bay to dominate that division in the near term, even if Love is really good. Chiefs have 90 million, and can easily get another 95 million if they need it without taking on dead cap.

    It ALL started when the Packers separated the organization into two separate entities, and gave Bob Harlan autonomy, to separate the football operations from the business side. IOW - he had the freedom to handpick the GM and give him (at the time, Ron Wolf) the autonomy to operate the football side, w/o reporting to the "committee".

    Packer Fan, but I am not sold yet. Love does deserve the contract, top tier money, eh not so sure..It's kinda based on 9 games and a crushing of the Cowboys. 1st half of last year was medicore, sometimes exciting until Love throws that game losing INT, more than once. To me it's a 50/50 split, but it's better than the shoulder shrug at the start of last season...Is he good, is he bad? Didn't know then. You definately pay him, but it could also be a toilet flush with 1 season of highlights. He did have to sit next to Rodgers sniffing berry farts and cave dust, that's worth something at least

  • @crystalballers
    @crystalballers 2 місяці тому

    Its amazing how little leverage teams have negotiating qb salaries. They are totally out of control, and teams just keep increasing amounts every new contract that comes up. Time for a salary cap rule ... your biggest contract can only be x% of the cap.

    • @williamhermann6635
      @williamhermann6635 2 місяці тому

      Nor should they. They evolved this game into being solely dependent on great qb play to win so those guys should be paid accordingly. One great qb is worth more than having the best defense in football. Wanna see how valuable Love is to the Packers? Go check out how bad there offense has looked all week while Love was out negotiating his contract. Theyre a 5 win team without him.

    • @crystalballers
      @crystalballers 2 місяці тому

      @@adamdavis5312 nah bruh. My team beats yours every year when it counts but that's irrelevant. RULES are about whats good for the sport, not your own team. The salary cap is supposed to be about fairness and parity. Too much cap space concentrated in one player undermines that. Its not equitable to the other 52 players, it locks up too much cap space preventing teams from making more moves, and they don't have any ability to control the qb market. This is an unintended side effect of the rule changes. They use rookie scales that work just fine ... they use max contracts in other sports. What's the argument for not fixing it?

    Bears have a disadvantage because their coach is not that good. They might have a good QB, maybe. Vikings have a really good coach, still don't have a good QB. Lions have a good quarterback and coach, but, the coach is dependent on both of his coordinators. Packers have a good QB and coach, but, are dependent on finding a good defensive coordinator.

    No quarterback in the NFL dominated Detroits defense last season and they much improved , As a matter a fact Detroit did great against some very good quarterbacks...AGAINST THE BEST ACTUALLY.. Everyone thinks because Love beat Detroit once that now the Packers are valid or something...lol Detroit ran Rodgers out of town and with a lot more tape on Love Detroit will handle him just like any other QB. Love is not going to ironically be the quarterback out of the entire NFL to win constantly against Detroit... the NFC North Detroits for a while. Love is not better than Rodgers and Detroit ran him out of town. The division not close to being stacked...Detroit is the only stacked team in the division.....these experts and you Homer's are ridiculous.
    I see what the Packers have done as a franchise....tried to start a hype train to help the momentum of calls and flags thrown their way....they literally paid a guy who played 8 good games and hyped up their QB in a stunt to create fake news and more hype....it's been working for decades...

    (I wrote this before you started talking…) So, what do you think now JWL? I think their D is going to be exposed, their WRs are going to fall well below expectations and if Love gets hurt, they might lose every game he is out. This contract will handcuff the organization from signing big time FAs and Defenses (like Chicago’s) will catch up with Matt LeFreur by actually getting to Love and having more and more of the back-breaking INTs like we saw in the SF playoff game. 🐻👇
