You don’t have to get the same part number for the transmission TCU. All of the e60 m5 or m6 TCU work’s interchangeably but you must do clutch, transmission adaptation
Did you have to code the new smg control module? Mine has transmission issues currently after I replaced clutch and slave cylinder, the clutch adaptation keeps failing. 😑

You're blowing the 40amp fuse because your actual SMG pump is no good. The motor is working hard as hell, but makes no pressure because the pump itself that builds pressure is shot. You either need to rebuild that entire unit, or buy a new/rebuilt one. Should have just got the entire new pump from MLReng. I did the same by just getting the motor and accumulator from MLR for my SMG ran fine for a hour, then pump starting making crazy knocking noises and eventually starting smelling like electrical fire......... go through the entire system and get new everything.
There is a main set of cables that lead to the SMG. The insultation on the set that connect to the transmission typicaly corrode over time. Replace this and you have a high chance of being a happy man. It is best to replace it with some 12 gauge wire with thick insulation from the hardware store. Solder the new wires between both ends of the harness and use electrical tape then high temp cloth tape. Oh, and yes... You will have to drop your transmission about a foot to access these wires... Its a good single day's worth of work.... Oh look at that! A little over 12 minutes into the video and thats what you where working on.
The pain of ownership only adds to the pleasure of that insane no exhaust V10 roar!

Invoices do not count as proof, should be completed work orders with Vin matching the car.
All in all the M5/M6 V10 is probably on of the most fun cars you have if all is in order and it is straight piped.
how hard would it be to manual swap? i hear about so many problems with the smg
Seems like we’re in the same boat I recently brought a 340i from a reputable dealership with a 3rd party warranty, had it shipped to my state and it lasted not even 2hrs now I’m looking at a $14,000 maintenance bill for a car I drove for at least 1hr
A B58 car? What happened to it
Please make more content on this car. Idc I’m going to own one and I need to know what I’m getting myself into. Plus I also want that f10 🥵
I love the new e60 content bro.. keep it going! Idc what anyone else says. I love it
Definitely my next buy. I just upgraded from a pre facelift e60 525i to a facelift 535i just love to e60 so much
this is the best series yet. Love it! keep going!
Sorry for the uphill battle with this, but to ultimately pull away and all that work not being in vain, 👌🏽 great job
Yup that seal kit should fix it with all the other goodies.. and if all that doesnt fix it then its the transmission
I was looking at one, but ima wait until u give a price breakdown for the whole thing because that will lmk if it’s worth it
Having the same issues do u got the part numbers for the smg pump and accumulator ? My v10 screams, gutted cats and no mufflers but omg is she worthy just for that v10 Howlllll
nah that shift at 10:58 LOL
Cracked me in 5 places 😂
Great information so when I do get an e60 m5 myself, I will know what to look for with problems. Thank you!!
Thanks guys for your videos, very enjoying it😊
Want to buy 5 series aswell, i think its a best design car what bmw ever made, its point less for me buying m5 v10 so i would be looking for something smaller like 3l engine, is anyone knowes is front wings and rear bumper from m5 fit on other models?
Side grills looks stunning
When you said it’s now stuck in 5th gear, I honestly laughed out loud. Those cars are a frigen mess. Good luck man lol
Heard nothing but horror stories about this car. My boy left the Mopar life for one. He ended up going right back into an SS. We did warn him so...
Did you check to see if the fluid for the pump is low?
I covered that in the video
Did you perform the battery registration function? Not doing that can cause a variety of issues and wear your alternator and new battery much faster.
Absolutely
Really apreaciate the content man. Its funny i was just playing cod when watching this vid lol.
I got a 08 E60 with just 90k car is mint. And a fbo e82. This just shows that even still a beat up bimmer can still be of use with basic maintenance.
naa bro :( and its such a good car, lol my N54 just hit 110k miles and my radiator went, then my ac went, and now somethings goin on with my shocks or exhaust, get a BMW they said, it'll be fun they said. and ur lucky you got a spot to work on the car at least, cause finding good euro shops in Orlando is rough...
Bring the car to us. We are in Orlando
Funny because my E60 530d has 316000km on the clock with no problems maintenance is key 🗝️
The lack of a spin on the bomb diffuse was disrespectful
The car is fun concept but too fragile.
Good job on working on it and figuring it out.
Makes me wish I had never sold my manual E60 M5. Hell of an engine note they make.
I’m surprised Christian did all this and didn’t go straight to manual swap 😆
This is really interesting content to watch, but I can't help but think so many of these headaches wouldn't exist on a manual.
Did you watch the entire video?
U really help us the viewers out can u buy 2014-2016 e63s amg next just bought 1 and u seem 2 point out all failure points
I just got the bmw after drive home engine has rod knock.
And just like that there are more reasons to manual swap the car
That sound is absolutely ridiculous. I've never thought about buying one but it seems worth it only for that!
Yeah that was dope so glad u got it working decently. Sounds insane
This is an awesome series. So far, I'm learning a lot
I guess the harness problem killed the ecu.
You might want to reattach that ground on the exhaust towards the rear
For any bmw work i would use ISTA 100 %
Your whole issue was that harness short circuiting and in turn fried your dme I reckon.
Sounds like your smg pump went out. I own a 2006 bmw e60 m5 also.
I knew you guys would get it sorted out. Great content. Keep it coming.
My guess is that you didn't watch the entire video.
