Wizards of the Coast, I hope that you read the comments. Your cinematic trailers for your Magic: The Gathering sets would make excellent Dungeons and Dragons modules. Seriously, all of the Innistrad, Ravnica, Zenikar, Dominaria, Kalidesh, Amonkhet, Theros, Ixalan...making all of these campaign settings and making the sets into modules would be highly profitable and would further your goal of getting the Magic and DnD communities interested in the other community. You could possibly merge Innistrad with Ravenloft and expand the story potential for both. Possibly make Magic sets based on traditional DnD settings.
@Jacob Rowe I think that everyone loved the War trailer. It became my favorite trailer followed closely by Battle for Zendikar. As for the books, people threw a hissy fit over the whole Chandra and Nissa thing even though we are told that something like that can happen all the time.
Some of the announced cards.... they're doing something different this time to show creatures working as a team, which makes sense considering the eldrazi threat is gone. No more need for the allies.
Interesting how they mimic magic gameplay. Zareth attacks and the creature blocks, which then attacks but is blocked by Akiri. Then Nahiri is positioned sideways in the battlefield like the planeswalkers

Hopefully with you just doing web stories this time around, you guys can keep the story consistent between the cards and the stories themselves. So far you're doing great!
The moral of the story: the d20 is a hell of a drug. I like how Akiri actually budged while still "frozen", like immobilized cast members do on classic Star Trek.
I see that Nahiri continues to carry on the OldWalker tradition of just, being the absolutely WORST when it comes to the lives of the puny plane-bound. Like damn, that's just cold. And as someone else stated, she's such a good Boros villain. Doing awful things for the worst reasons, but she thinks she's right, and that she's making the Plane and the Multiverse a better place, and nothing will ever convince her otherwise.
Oh yeah, absolutely! I tend to think of OldWalkers as any Pre-Mending Planeswalkers that existed as planeswalkers (post-ignition) for a significant amount of time before the Mending The level of power that Pre-Mending Planeswalkers had access to, as well as being effectively immortal (killing pre-mending planeswalkers was extremely difficult), led many planeswalkers to view themselves as separate and far superior to the planebound masses, even some of the "good" / "hero" planeswalkers. The longer that a Planeswalker existed Pre-Mending, the more detached they became, and most of them were also just kinda self-centered assholes I could list off examples, but then this comment would likely take multiple hours to write/read... But yeah, Nahiri and Sorin were both kind of awful when it came to the lives of the planebound (both on their home planes, and elsewhere in their travels)

@aydooknow of course, thank you in advance for those who may not have known
We are getting the animated series soon on Netflix
3:45 "Out here, evreything wants you dead": So no different from any other plane we visit.
Not true, Amonkhet wants you undead.
@@Dialethian Not anymore I would assume. With Bolases Shemes revealed I would assume the trials are no more. Amonkhet is actually a plane I would like to revisit one day now that Bolas no longer rules the plane.
Kaladesh?
@@christopherfu2169 I want to be clear, if you die on Amonkhet, you immediately become a zombie due to the planes own nature (kinda like the Roil on zendikar, but for bodies), this wasn't Bolas's doing.

I think they could've done a better job with Nahiri's face, or the lip sinking
I was going to say that. Her face animation was surely poorly done.
Hey that’s still pretty good too
I like it they've improved a lot since WoS

@@MetroidMann *Syncing, ouch
Waiting for the related novel to have nothing to do with Nahiri being a villian.
Or the orb
Or Akiri dying
Or anything related to the cards

Well, they just release the third part of the story that is a transcription of this video. Is it good? I'm not pretty sure.
2:31 what an akward way to go =S
Keep up the good content ESO!
3:42 Obiwan:"Ah yes, the high ground"
Wow, Nahiri sure learned her lesson while she was stuck in the hell vault.
Still catching up on Magic history, what was the lesson learned?
@@predxeno none lol
That was avacyn
I'm curious. What lesson do you think she needed to learn?
Follow up, How would she have learned it in the Helvault?
@@k9commander Long story short, Eldrazi were released on Zendikar, Nahiri got pissed Ugin and Sorin didn't show up to stop them, went to Innistrad to get Sorin to help, Sorin locked her in the Helvault (this was also when Avacyn was locked in there), spent a long time with the demons, got out when Lilliana broke open the Helvault to fight a specific Demon, went back to a part of Zendikar, saw it destroyed and assumed the whole plane was like that, rained destruction on Innistrad via tentacle monster, War of the Spark happened, now she's here.
Man this video is #1 on trending by a long shot.
To put it into perspective the original #1 video got 1.7 mill views in 11 hrs, this video got 8.4 mill views in 12 hrs
Its great that mtg is getting more popular!
potato patch uwu No, Standard is an absolute shitshow.
Oh thank god we didn't get songs for this one. Ikoria was a bit of a weird one with that song.
They could have done something different like they're in a forest or something. A better song would have been "Born to be Wild"
Yeah, the song was just a terrible choice
@Jacob Rowe I think that everyone loved the War trailer. It became my favorite trailer followed closely by Battle for Zendikar. As for the books, people threw a hissy fit over the whole Chandra and Nissa thing even though we are told that something like that can happen all the time.
I knew flaming Rudy was going to be in this
Deathrattle summon a 2/3 taco with deathtouch
Looks like ally's and Elementals coming back. And a New artifact 🤔
Wouldn't really be Zendikar without them 😅
probably static orb?
About.... ally...
Some of the announced cards.... they're doing something different this time to show creatures working as a team, which makes sense considering the eldrazi threat is gone. No more need for the allies.
@@anthonydelfino6171 Now its called Party, and cards care about how many members of the party are on the field at any given time.
"I was betrayed"
Oh *were you* Nahiri?!
she hardly views Mortals the same as someone like Sorin, she's seen millions of people come and go in her 3,000 year old life.
I believe the entire line is: “I was betrayed by my closest friend.” Aka Sorin (her mentor I believe?)
Also, she’s deceptive 😈 I love it!
Interesting how they mimic magic gameplay. Zareth attacks and the creature blocks, which then attacks but is blocked by Akiri. Then Nahiri is positioned sideways in the battlefield like the planeswalkers
Nice observation!!!
So that’s where the power stone went after avengers ended.
jezz haha
Yes actually. Lukka has the Reality stone, the Ozolith.
So the Jacetuce League is just MTG's Avengers. Wonderful. Strange that Infinity War already happened, tho (War)
It even cracks stuff affected by it like in the avengers. Fascinating. They totally got inspired by it
MCU is pretty bad inspiration point.
0:22 A new a new Hand Touches the Beacon

Fuck! I just got a quest. Brb.
2:50 that dubbing though wtf wotc
she's so obviously saying something different, was this animated in russian or something?
I think it was because of quarantine. The lip sync is a bit off, but I usually don’t really mind that stuff
Yikes, you're right...
Probably due to a rerecording or something similar. Maybe skyrim nostalgia?
@@ThatDude000 not everone has an amazing dubbing booth at home like some of the better synchron speakers
Soo friggin good. You guys should really consider making a series. I would watch the hell out of that 😊
Exactly. This is sum top tier stuff. Like if they up sumthin like this on Netflix id totally watch it
Battle for Zendikar was when I started Magic. It feels amazing to return to this set!
This is the best trailer I've seen in 2009. Imagine, one day they'll be able to make animated facial expressions look real on video! Not today though...
u see thats where u wrong, if its to real it looks bad because u dont have the "disbelieve" anymore, thats why mario for many look better then the most realistic cgi's ...
its on a good level, more realistic and it gets shit
So any updates?
Nice to see a plane going up after visiting it, I expect the story to be "disappointing" but overall looks beautiful.
0:24 "A new hand touches the beacon"
Nahiri: "ou sh... Here we go again "
Wow that ending!! Awesome cinematic Wizards! I love these cinematics, they Really brings the lore alive!
I came here just to comment that my brother animated a few of the scenes with the 3 main characters! It’s soo cool! And this short clip looks awesome and I had never heard of this card game until he showed me what he worked on just a few minutes ago. Proud brother here, lol.
Where’s the proof?
Well they typically don’t put credits on trailers/shorts like this... he’s been contracted by the studio that made the trailer now and has worked on it back and forth for a couple months.
Nahiri looks like a kickass russian Insta fitness trainer... Nice play Wizards 🙆
How the hell she is russian...? о_О
first they took dack fayden from us, now it's akiri THIS NEEDS TO STOP
At least she didn't die in the background
they need to kill off more characters. Jace has had his day in the sun.
@SupaFly Supreme amen my dude, amen. Tired of the emo boy now.
@@aqeelrawjee9651
If they retire Jace, they should do it after he has closed ties with Liliana and his home plane of Vryn.
If any walkers need to be retired, it is Chandra and Liliana.
Every aspect of Chandra's story has been told, they are at a point where they have to create new story hooks just for her to not appear to be an extra.
Liliana is almost in the same boat, the last 3 things she needs to do is to settle things with Jace, Garruk, and the Raven Man. Afterwards, her entire story arc has been told.
You know, we didn't actually see her hit the ground. And given how good Kor are supposed to be at self-arresting falls, (plus what Gerrard survived in Tempest) I wouldn't completely count her out just yet.
I hate Nihiri as a person. But at least she is the bad guy again which is befitting.
Why she still isn't RBW color baffled me.
@@AnumaElish Because she's not doing her villainy for her self interests like a Black villain would. She actually believes she's doing the right thing and also she succumbed to anger and vengeance. That's RW.
Sorin sucks, Nissa Sucks. Nahiri feels like one of the few planeswalkers that feels like an actual person
@@timkelley2882 I mean, Sorin is a millennia old vampire, and Nissa was raised in a supremely exclusive racist elf culture. It's no surprise that they both come off as "not a person"
@@AnumaElish Black isn't the color of evil. Black is the color of desire, of self-sufficiency, of ambition. There is no color that is purely good or evil.
Congratulations Magic: The Gathering you have done it again
Akiri is definitely alive yall.
She breaks free of the hedron's effect as she's falling, and she's known for, well... slinging lines. I don't think she's gonna ever die to fall damage.
(Tbh, it would be funny if she did die, because her actual card dies to fatal push)
Let me guess the story.
Nahiri got the purple artifact, it gave her tremendous power but somehow she lost it and it got sealed again, only be found by Peter Quill later on 😂
Right . The power stone exists in mtgverse
I haven't been this excited for a set to come out since War Of The Spark as far as the story/lore goes. But I just hope it's not a disappointment like war of the spark was.
Yeah agreed, War of the spark was very disappointing when it came to the story/lore.
Me Too.
I'm so interested in what the female character was actually supposed to be saying... I can't imagine why they would change the dialogue so late in the game that the lips so obviously don't match up. If anyone is confident they can tell from the lip reading, I'd appreciate best guesses.
She says: Sorin did nothing wrong
Is it just synched to a different language?
@@Seth.edit1 this changed nothing
@@Seth.edit1 Why do you keep trying to get people to watch this? It's literally a stolen copy of the trailer. The fact that you're doing this in the comments section for the original video confuses me even more.
YES, more story in only 4 minutes than in the last 3 sets, can't wait to see more
I loveeee that they're doing cinematics like this now!! Voice acting and lip syncing needs work but theyre new at this im so hyped
Could you imagine this trailer with "Bad Reputation" blaring in the background?
It would be better!
Well. Dubbed trailer. That's new. I love it.
Nahiri in the beginning is like. "No, dont touch it. I want to touch it. "
But I am guessing from this trailer we are not going to see a redemption arc from Nahiri now.
2:52 “what is this thing?”
Me: “a legendary engram.”
When I thought Nahiri would stop being chaotic... GIIRLL... I wash my hands about you haha
Says "CAREFUL" stopping her from picking up the thing, then immediately picks up the thing presumably causing the collapse to happen that she was warning about 3 seconds earlier.
Well, traditionally Nahiri is a red/white colored Planeswalker, so it makes perfect sense in my opinion.
Isn't this a card RPG? How the f is my imagination supposed to be this awesome?
I wonder what kind of epic equipment Nahiri gets when she brings that engram to the cryptarch....
Nihiri's fall from grace is something I've only recently started looking into. Damn has it drawn me in.
Imagine a whole Series on Netflix with every season a new main box story before printing the cards.
Wonder what Akiri's actual lines were after the merfolk died... curious
"Can anything not be a threat to the world and capable of killing people??? I'm so tired of this shit"
Zendikar in Theory: A Natural, Wild, Chaotic Multicolored plane.
Zendikar in every single colection: InCoLoReD
When do we get a full MTG movie?
Looks pretty good! I think they really should make MTG Animation series... because I would watch it!!! Probably better than reading the story I (we) could see it 😃
i love how the animation is either static and wonky or PERFECT
Nahiri did nothing wrong!
Make Zendikar great again!
:D
Wizards: we have been working on this set for years
Also Wizards: Animations don't match with what the characters are saying
I think it may have been either wanting to keep it vague for different countries or working from home. I’ve seen that with a few productions lately.
Last time I was here so early there were Eldrazi
I have to say even though i don't play the video game or even collection magic much anymore. The fucking quality of this trailer is extremely high, close to something i'd expect from blizzard or someone.
Nahiri uses Fatal Push!
It's super effective!
The party in this trailer isn't full.
Hoid died on the way in there.
Black n red sorin waiting in the back
When you find out your party member is actually evil
So is that death orb gonna be like a nevinyrral's disk deal? I feel like that's gonna be a card
Probably Oblivion Stone- old card, but it basically wipes the board and all art has that same coloration and sometimes that static wave effect.
@@TheTunaSaladin I didn't think about O Stone, yeah, it'll be that
more like golgothian sylex
@@magetathelion5825 actually that's more powerful and was already destroyed
Glad this was a story trailer instead of a fun music trailer like Ikoria's. Also really happy about the return of the free web stories. This set has me really excited. The lore is always the thing that gets me hyped for a set so I've been kind of lukewarm with the past couple.
Who else was like "oh look Nahiri has friends " then was like " oh...ok..."
Does Sorin count as oldwalker?
Oh yeah, absolutely!
I tend to think of OldWalkers as any Pre-Mending Planeswalkers that existed as planeswalkers (post-ignition) for a significant amount of time before the Mending
The level of power that Pre-Mending Planeswalkers had access to, as well as being effectively immortal (killing pre-mending planeswalkers was extremely difficult), led many planeswalkers to view themselves as separate and far superior to the planebound masses, even some of the "good" / "hero" planeswalkers.
The longer that a Planeswalker existed Pre-Mending, the more detached they became, and most of them were also just kinda self-centered assholes
I could list off examples, but then this comment would likely take multiple hours to write/read...
But yeah, Nahiri and Sorin were both kind of awful when it came to the lives of the planebound (both on their home planes, and elsewhere in their travels)
It is Netflix episode, no, just a trailer for new set! ... please take my a serie with same or great quality!
Zendikar is such a cool plane I hope they get back to it not too far in the future .
Nothing will ever live up to War Of the Spark trailer but still really exciting. Looked like a cyclonic rift in the background.
