Great system Greg! Watching one of your videos last summer I starting putting my plastics in plastic zip lock bags and your right it is a lot easier to store and find them in your box in your kayak.
*Exceeded my expectations **enjoyable.fishing** recommend in quality & appearance - bought this for my 9 yr old daughter, but would recommend it for any age girl*
Thanks for video Greg. This topic is talked about a lot in my little circle of kayak anglers friends and this video will be shared among them. Great organization and condensed very well.
Anytime, Derek thanks for watching! I've tinkered with storage options since I began Kayak fishing and I'm pretty happy with the efficiency of this system.
Hey Greg: It is great to see organized tackle from experienced kayak angler. As you said, it is very different from motorboat. Here's a goofy but visual improvement for the first crankbait box you showed: put shallow at the top row and move the deep divers to bottom row.
thanks man, I really enjoyed this......I'm just starting out in kayak fishing and pretty much a beginner bass fishermen also. I take way to much on the water with me and this will help me a lot. I just bought my old town predator this past summer and caught my first ever LMB and SMB this summer along with first keeper Rock fish (I'm from MD kinda a big deal down here lol) but I love your channel. just one thing I know you don't do on every tournament video is the commentary. I really like when you discuss your thought process on every fish catch. don't get me wrong I love watching you just catch fish but since I'm a beginner I I get a lot more out of the videos when you come in and explain all your thoughts and processes. you have been a big help this past summer....keep up the good work!
Thanks, Gary! I was the same way. When I started out I was really concerned with not having enough baits, colors, etc but have found fishing what I'm comfortable with and condensing my gear makes me more efficient on the water and catching more fish. Congrats on the recent firsts out of a kayak! And I was in DE/MD area for a while so I remember hearing the hype about the rockfish but unfortunately never fished for them. Thanks for the support man, I'll keep those ideas in mind for this upcoming 2017 season. I think for my tournament vids this year there will be a separate VLOG style video which will include a more detailed conversation of how I caught my fish.
Greg Blanchard cool man! I would really appreciate the extra tournament vlog....you do a great job on your VIDS man. always look forward to your next adventure. I feel like I learn a lot
I wish I'd seen this video before buying a great big tackle box! Haha! Your way of having EVERYTHING at your fingertips in the 3600 boxes, makes good sense! Thanks Greg (I'm heading out the door to Wally World and Bass Pro Shop NOW!). Haha!
Nice video! That YakAttak case will be one of the first things I get when I get a kayak. That terminal coffin looks interesting too. Thanks for the information!
Thanks for sharing, Greg! I like the Bass Mafia Coffin. I hope they decide to make it in a 3600 size. On the water, having the Native under seat tool/tackle and the rail/tackle caddies keeps organized.
Anytime, Greg! Yeah, a 3600 size would be real nice. Unfortunately I think Bass Mafia tailors to the bass boat world so the bigger boxes or 3700 sizes may be there preference.
i guess im randomly asking but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the account password. I love any assistance you can offer me!
@Krew Jaime thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
That's super neat! I use a milk crate with 3 3600 Plano boxes and a large ziplock with my soft plastics in their original bags. There's a second big ziplock bag with my pliers, scale, measuring tape etc. If I'm bank fishing, it all goes into my Penn dry bag / back pack. Then back in the garage, I have a little section that stores my toolbox and a couple of small bins with extra tackle. Not a lot though.
I've been testing out different options ever since I began Kayak fishing and I'm pretty happy with this method. Sounds like your system is similar! All about efficiency!
Hi Greg, just found your channel and I’m working my way through the videos. Great channel! I noticed the Delaware Paddlesports snicker on your Black pack. That’s my local shop and I loved that you represented. Thanks!
Absolutely man, that's what I've come to try to emulate each time on the water (especially tournaments when efficiency is crucial). THanks for watching!
I use the bass mafia 3700 shallow for my terminal tackle. All my hooks I use a safety pin to keep them together. And each compartment is labeled from a label maker so I know what all my hook sizes are and what there for. Pretty much hook size and an abbreviated description of purpose. Weight compartments are just labeled by the weight. Then I keep a deep 3700 bass mafia case at home setup the same way and that's all my extras so when I run out I can replenish as needed. Has worked great for me for a while now. If I had a boat I would stick with the deep coffin but I only bank fish for now so its easier to carry around the shallow model
Love your setup! One thing I like to do with cranks and anything that uses treble hooks is to wrap a rubber band between the two trebles so they don't catch other lures.
Thanks, Chris! That's a great idea. I've seen a video where a guy uses the rubber band and store them in a peanut butter jar with essentially no tangle. Must work!
I was in Lowe's the other day, and found a 2 or 3 drawer plastic tool box that might fit under the seat of my Titan. If it will fit, and hold the 3600 or 3700 boxes, I'll get it. Thanks again for another wonderful and informative Video.
Hi greg, I recently got into kayak fishing and I cant honestly say this is very fun, I never knew how big the difference between bank fishing and fishing from a kayak would be. Anways I always liked watching your videos and im wondering if you can record an updated video similar to this one showing the lures you take kayak fishing and how you organize/ carry your baits in your new black pack pro.
Hey Greg nice job on the video! Perfect timing I'm iced up and this is my time of year for cleaning, restocking and organizing. You have quite a bit of tackle especially plastics, your making me feel inadequate so now I need to go shopping!
Thanks, Victor! I hear ya! Sometimes good to have a little bit of an off season to catch up on those types of things. Haha, man, if you check out some other guys channels on their gear you'd look at mine and think I'd have next to nothing! LOL. Just saw a photo Bassmaster Elite pro Skeet reese posting a picture of his tackle all sorted in his garage ready to go in his truck and it put my lot to shame!
Very helpful tips thanks! and definitely getting one of those Terminal Coffins they look very organized and helpful.... "Hey BASS MAFIA you should sponsor my man Greg with all the sales he's hooking you guys up with"! Lol...thanks Greg!
Anytime man. Yeah, I'm pumped about this terminal tackle box. Finally something to keep my terminal tackle well organized when in the Yak! Haha! I'd take that sponsorship! But for now, I may reach out to Bass Mafia to see if they'd be interested in contributing to a 10K sub giveaway :)
I took a different approach, I also use 3600 series boxes in my Black Pak but I separated each box for each type of fishing. I have a Ned Rig box, a drop shot box etc. but I think no matter what you do there's not enough room. I wish that Black Pak was a bit bigger, I was surprised how small it was after putting it together.
That's a great idea. Agreed. I think the main thing with the black pack is fitting into a kayak. If mine were any bigger it wouldn't fit in the back of my kayak but I agree, would be nicer to have a bit bigger size. Maybe taller?
Disregard my previous idea, lol. I bought a Bass Mafia Coffin box (the one with 48 compartments) and storing all of my terminal tackle in that like you and that gives me a lot more room in my black pak now.
Wow I am so unorganized after seeing that and you have a heck of a lot more stuff than I'll ever have. I will try to use some of those ideas in the future.
Well, I'm Texas bound in about a week and then likely back to California (Delta) and hopefully back to NY mid/end of summer. That all being said, I wouldn't mind west Wisconsin either! I'm sure you've heard of Mille Lacs....some giant smallies out that way.
Great video buddy. I used to put my soft plastics in Plano boxes and I agree it uses a lot of space. So now, I keep them in bags. Thanks for the great tips on storage and organizing fishing gear. I think I might have to buy one of those bass mafia tackle boxes.
Thanks man! Yep, bags seem to be the most convenient way to access as well as keep more of your soft plastics. I'd definitely recommend the BM box! I can't wait to use it for 2017. Should make my terminal tackle situation a lot easier to manage!
Greg Blanchard What's up buddy great video like always...just wanted to let you know I'm looking to buy in bulk just about any soft plastics for bass fishing even packs that only have a few left in them etc...But im definitely interested in all bass fishing tackle as long as it's still usable, so in case your interested in selling more tackle in bulk please hit me up!! Thanks alot ~Jaime from Michigan 🎣✌
Awsome video brotha! gives me some ideas what to due in my hobie outback thanks brotha. i think i might check out that black pak man. that thing looks sweet! Great setup man on organizing your tackle. i wonder it the black pak would fit in the hobie outback. MB coffin is sick might have to check that out
Thanks, Dick! Blackpak has been one of my favorite kayak additions to date! I'm sure it'd fit in a Hobie outback but PM dimension and I can double check for you just in case.
Great video Greg! Just subscribed to your channel, I love the fact it's just fishing. I got into kayak fishing last year and entering my first tournament this May at Presque Isle in Erie PA. Any tips? If your ever near Erie PA let me know, good luck this year!
Thanks, Jayme! That's awesome man. I love kayak fishing but the tournament aspect certainly adds more hype to the sport and makes that big fish even more sweet! Hmm, that's a tough question for me having never fished out there. My best advice would be to try and prefish the area a few times before the tournament and get an idea as to where the fish are. Don't tear up em' up to hard during practice and come tournament day go to your most productive spots and wail on them. I'd imagine given that area and time of year, a drop shot and jerkbait could be key! Good luck!
Thanks, Brian! It's the Bakflip CS Tonneau cover and rack combo. I've had it for over 2 years now and it's held up without a problem. I'd definitely recommend.
Hey man been watching your videos for awhile and came across this one. You have any tackle that you don’t use that you would be willing to sell maybe cheaper then stores. Don’t have a lot of money but I need some bass gear. Thanks
Thanks, Ray! They are pricey for sure. I was thinking about replicating them with a DIY however after calculation of materials and time needed to invest in the project, just buying one was essentially the same. If you haven't already, check out Tacklewarehouse for them. Way cheaper than places like Basspro.
So I’m about 3 years to late on this but great video.. I find that one of the biggest downfalls of kayak fishing is organization and storage .. I feel like it takes me forever to get on and off the water with the outback .. I bring way too much crap because I’m always thinking what if I need this or that and before ya know it I have crap everywhere .. I gotta figure this out ..
This may be a dumb question, but are you right handed? I noticed you cast with your right hand, but use a left handed reel. It looks very efficient. I only recently started watching your videos and I have enjoyed them very much--thank you
I'm right handed but I use both Right and Left handed reels depending on the presentation. Usually topwater/jerkbaits for R hand reels and everything else is left. No real reason, just the setups I started with and grew accustom to. THanks for watching!!
Great way to get your plastics organized. Where do you stock up on all those Rage Craws? Let us know the deals because I rarely see them on sale at Cabelas, BPS or Field and Stream.
Thanks, Paul. Wait for holidays and order off of tacklewarehouse. They usually run 15% off, free shipping over 50 dollar orders and no sales tax assuming you live outside of CA.
Dude those boxes are actually LEGIT! Not trying to self promote here but i actually have a video on my channel of a full grown man proving how durable these are, he pulls out his personal box lays it on the ground and jumps up and down on it multiple times! Their a good box and i really like their concept. The videos called bass fishing basics BTW if u wanted to see it.
I don't think there'd be much of a difference but the magic shad looks like it'll displace more water with that ribbed body. Probably an overall better option for dirtier water.
Awesome video mam. Tacklejunky81 also uses the bass mafia. T.J81 does good videos as well. Hey bro what kind of kayak u fish? im in the market for one. research has led me to either the vibe or the ascend 128T
Thanks, Albert! Yessir, love TJ's vids! It's a nativewatercraft Titan 13.5, it's a big boat but great for big water and tournament fisherman. Both of those are solid choices!
Great video, Greg. Out of curiosity where do you purchase the majority of your soft Plastics? Do you receive a discount through a vendor or buy your products at full price?
Usually it's your own fault weather it be being too daring it precarious weather or being in a kayak that isn't made for your to reach/weight shift out too far!
Nope. Fished a tube a handful of times. Probably wrong conditions and didn't stick with it long enough but that's a bait I've never caught a bass on. Surprising right since I live in a smallmouth laden area!
No disrespect to You, Greg... Or anyone else (Just was trying to say something funny after reading MangaOtakuAnime's post, and thought it was hilarious!...)
The saying 'fishing gear is designed to catch fishermen" is very true with this guy.
Great system Greg! Watching one of your videos last summer I starting putting my plastics in plastic zip lock bags and your right it is a lot easier to store and find them in your box in your kayak.

Thanks Larry! Yes, I like that idea, thank you for the tip! Maybe even a 3700 size box for 4 rows of cranks...
Great work Greg.........very useful information!
I’m envious of your black power box that’s awesome 😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎👌👌
thanks man, I really enjoyed this......I'm just starting out in kayak fishing and pretty much a beginner bass fishermen also. I take way to much on the water with me and this will help me a lot. Thanks, Jeremi! The Blackpak has been one my favorite kayak accessories to date. Thanks for watching!
I really enjoyed this. I'm starting to fish kayak tournaments this year and this gives me a good idea on what and what not to bring.
Thanks, Aidan! Nice! What series/location are you fishing?
I'm fishing the Mid-Atlantic Kayak Bass Fishing Series so mostly tournaments in MD, PA, VA, and DE.
Thanks for sharing, Greg! I like the Bass Mafia Coffin. I hope they decide to make it in a 3600 size. On the water, having the Native under seat tool/tackle and the rail/tackle caddies keeps organized.

@Krew Jaime it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D

Nice! Yeah my buddy uses dewault boxes under his titan seat, works great!
Thanks Greg, I'll surely look in to them.
Happy Fishin'...!

Loved watching this! Great setup!
Thanks, Hunter! Appreciate it man
never seen the terminal coffin before.
ill be getting a few now though...
good stuff.
Thanks, Mike! Yeah, I'm really excited to have this on the yak for 2017. Great box.
Mike, they are nice but they're close to $50 a box
Unless you already have an empty mafia box thats gonna cost WAY more. The hook and weight coffin 3 packs are $25 each...
Great video brother!
Thanks Chad! I need to make my way down to Bienville! You guys are smokin' em out there right now!
Great video from way back
Very helpful tips thanks! and definitely getting one of those Terminal Coffins they look very organized and helpful.... "Hey BASS MAFIA you should sponsor my man Greg with all the sales he's hooking you guys up with"! Lol...thanks Greg!

Great approach.
Thanks, Walter!
Love the rage tail series by strike king. Those gambler, or bruiser is what I'm usually flipping.
The rage tail baits make for great trailers as well.
Definitely man. I've had some of my best days on the water with SK or Gambler plastics. Definitely staples to my arsenal.
Hey man can you make an update on this video? Thanks so much man I love you videos so much man
If you're on a budget, the clear Husky boxes from Home Depot are the best deals, good clasps and better hinges than Planos for 1/2 the price.
Great tip man! I've actually had a buddy suggest that as well. Add some foam inserts and you got your own Bass mafia box!

Disregard my previous idea, lol. I bought a Bass Mafia Coffin box (the one with 48 compartments) and storing all of my terminal tackle in that like you and that gives me a lot more room in my black pak now.
You can put a safety pin in the eye of the hooks and they will be more sorted/stay together
Good stuff That s what I need to do organise mine thanks for the ideas
Wow I am so unorganized after seeing that and you have a heck of a lot more stuff than I'll ever have. I will try to use some of those ideas in the future.
Very helpful. how do you decide what to actually bring with you/buy?
Will you take any trips this year? If so you should come to Mid East Wisconsin
I mean mid west
Greg on that Bass Mafia Terminal Coffin, can you put 2 more of those inserts in that front row?
Hey Ray, I just check and unfortunately no.
Bummer, that would have been sweet
Greg Blanchard What's up buddy great video like always...just wanted to let you know I'm looking to buy in bulk just about any soft plastics for bass fishing even packs that only have a few left in them etc...But im definitely interested in all bass fishing tackle as long as it's still usable, so in case your interested in selling more tackle in bulk please hit me up!! Thanks alot ~Jaime from Michigan 🎣✌
Greg when you throw your chatterbait what pound line and rod weight are you using?
12 pound and MH rod from a kayak. Hope that helps!
Please do if you can i got a 2016 hobie outback. Thanks again bro
What they cost to
great storage bro
Thanks man!
do you keep all that tackle in your truck
Great organization! Hope you have a great 2017 season!
Thanks man! Same to you!
I'd imagine given that area and time of year, a drop shot and jerkbait could be key! Good luck!
Lost a monster bite by not changing my hook after 5 fish above 2.5 lbs. good work
Good video Greg, thanks for sharing. I wanted to ask you what kind of rack do you have for your truck?
Thanks, Brian! It's the Bakflip CS Tonneau cover and rack combo. I've had it for over 2 years now and it's held up without a problem. I'd definitely recommend.
Hey man been watching your videos for awhile and came across this one. You have any tackle that you don’t use that you would be willing to sell maybe cheaper then stores. Don’t have a lot of money but I need some bass gear. Thanks
Great vid...I like those bass mafia boxes. so pricey though. only thing holding me back
Thanks, Ray! They are pricey for sure. I was thinking about replicating them with a DIY however after calculation of materials and time needed to invest in the project, just buying one was essentially the same. If you haven't already, check out Tacklewarehouse for them. Way cheaper than places like Basspro.
Gammy has a hook box in the 3600 size, which is similar foam.
Great video!!!! How do you carry your kayak on top of your truck?
Thanks, Ramiro! I use a Bakflip CS tonneau cover/rack combo on my truck. I have malone saddle up pro cradles on the racks that secure the kayak.
Norman cranks are great for Cali man no joke. Light purple kills it in SoCal after winter bite ...
Hey Greg try the magnum structure bug by KVD for flipping had great success with them
I've heard good things about the structure bug!
Weird question. What size are the small bags you store the soft plastics in?
Great vid brother
Thanks man!
Congrats on 8k! That biffle bug though 👍🎣
Thanks man!
Hey Greg can you do an updated video of this?
So I’m about 3 years to late on this but great video.. I find that one of the biggest downfalls of kayak fishing is organization and storage .. I bring way too much crap because I’m always thinking what if I need this or that and before ya know it I have crap everywhere .. I gotta figure this out ..

Nice Greg. Hope you don't mind I was planning on making the same vid this week or next. My weather is almost just as bad.
Thanks man! Not at all! Looking forward to seeing your vid! Yep, weathers been brutal!
@GregBlanchard hey Greg!! We all want a 2020 version. Can you help us out? Great channel.
This may be a dumb question, but are you right handed? I noticed you cast with your right hand, but use a left handed reel. It looks very efficient. I only recently started watching your videos and I have enjoyed them very much--thank you

These boxes are heavy duty to say the least! Bass Mafia is putting out some really great tackle storage options.
Can u do a new rod and reel arsenal
Greg what size swim senkos do you use?
Is there a big difference between the Yamamoto swimbait and a lake fork magic shad
I don't think there'd be much of a difference but the magic shad looks like it'll displace more water with that ribbed body. Probably an overall better option for dirtier water.
check out Yamamoto's new Zako, it's shaped more like the Magic shad
Thanks sooo much man this helped me out a ton!!!
No problem man, tight lines!
Probably a FAQ...but how do flip out of a kayak? Lol
Usually it's your own fault weather it be being too daring it precarious weather or being in a kayak that isn't made for your to reach/weight shift out too far!
Greg Blanchard I think he meant flipping as in flipping jigs and such.
So , what happens when your weights chip ??? Do fish not bite anymore ????
What are the 2 purple things on your Black Pack?
Steve Owens Cut up pool noodle to store his hawg trough measuring stick.
Thanks!
What camera did you use to film this?
iPhone 6+
you can give me 2 or 3 packages of worms lol good team friend God bless you jiji
you sell your old stuff?
Good video subscribed
no tube jigs? 🤔
Nope. Fished a tube a handful of times. Probably wrong conditions and didn't stick with it long enough but that's a bait I've never caught a bass on. Surprising right since I live in a smallmouth laden area!
Insane... I have much to learn.
great video.
Thanks man!
Greg! You look so young here!
how old is he? looks mid 20s
At least you don't have soft baits in boxes stored for years like some guys!
Sound like you found a good subscriber giveaway on some of the old stuff
Possibly. But going to do a giveaway likely at 10K subs with new stuff instead!
Ok so it’s 2020. How another tackle tour? And please update your monthly tackle challenge.
You almost have as much tackle and gear as me ! I should do a video like this ! Good stuff
How about a review a year later on the terminal coffin?
Just subscribed!!!
Thanks, Luis!
What about normal spinner baits
Don't use em' anymoer. I know a lot of guys have success with them but I've always found better luck with chatterbaits.
Maybe I've been out of bass fishing a little too long. No plastic worms?
oh no, they're stashed away in there! Usually carry a pack or two of senkos and then some drop shot finesse worms
Wow very good Channel I just made one with kayaks too
THanks man!
You need some extreme flip tail lures go to his site
+Greg Blanchard can u do a give away on somr tackle
Going to do a give away very soon. Likely at 10K subs. Stay tuned.
Greg Blanchard ok thanks😌
awsome
hi man love your videos can you send me sum lures to Ireland 🎣👍👍 can send you sum pike flies
Do you own a tackle store ... i cant afford that...
Do you know Johnny tran?
nope
lol...I have no idea how to organize anything. I've got more crap than i know what to do with. I think I carry more jigs on my boat than you own.
How could I get good at UA-cam fishing videos?
Start making them and just keep practicing your shots, editing, content, etc. You'll get good if you put in the time.
the longer i look...the more i notice...you kinda look like steven yuen
Damn...does that mean I eventually get killed off?
Greg Blanchard savage
(When I was a kid I used to think that ALL "Ornamentals" looked the same! NOT so...!) Haha!
No disrespect to You, Greg... Or anyone else (Just was trying to say something funny after reading MangaOtakuAnime's post, and thought it was hilarious!...)
Besides... this should read lures box
