I made one to go under my PA 360 seat and I add 2 yak power pin lights to the front and one on each side. I also add two USB ports one on the front and one on the back. Now I don’t have to drill any holes in my kayak for lights.
I don’t have under seat space to be able to do this but the construction was exactly what I was looking for. I’ve been wanting to construct a box for my rear well since it’s triangular and won’t take a standard milk crate. Figure that’s easier than saving $1.5-3k for a new yak.
Glue some additional little verticle strips inside the drawer so you can add or take away compartments. Sorta of like the dividers in a plano tackle storage box.

Great how to video as always! When gluing the pieces together, did you just apply the glue, say, to a side wall of the drawer and then set it in place? Did you also go back and apply more glue to either side of the joint for added insurance? I was hoping you would have covered that in the video. Yep, when I glue two pieces together, I apply it on both sides and press firm for about 30 secs and then I run some glue down the seem. Thanks for watching and good luck on your build!🤙🏼🎣
I like the storage idea, but it seems it would prevent me from adjusting the height on the Hobie Vantage seat? Not sure if I am ready to make that trade-off. I am in a 2019 Outback.
"HINT"... Make the tops of your under-drawer "runners" rounded, so you can wax (Bow String Wax probably work) them, so it slides a little better (with less "scraping" noise!). Nice - Simple - Efficient design, and I think a lot of viewers will try that. Thanks...

I wonder if it is sturdy enough to mount a swivel boat seat directly onto the box. Dunno but I might play around with some materials to see if I can make that work. Would solve issues with kayaks with low to no clearance under seat.
That would be awesome and very doable, but it would cost a little more. You can buy that PVC board thicker. Like maybe 1.5” and use that for top and sides. I bet it would be solid as rock and you could sit on it then 🤙🏼🎣
jerry ebner I have a similar situation. I actually went out and got a bleacher seat, rigged some carabiners and nylon straps in case I flip. Anyway, I have about 2” of space under me now and can at least use it as junk space. Hopefully that helps.
Great build but if it was me stick a little rubber mat under the seat and get a floatable fishing lure container and just slide it under the seat the rubber will help it not move around and if you tip all that hard work u just did will not be lost

One thing I love about my Bonafide is the drawer that slides out from under the seat, its probably the #1 space on my yak and is used the most!!!

Just curious if you could use the strap under the seat instead of drilling holes? That way it’s removable when traveling.
You can but I couldn’t get it tight enough to keep it from sliding around. But I’m sure there’s another way to do it other than bolting it. 🤙🏼🎣

Kayak USA when I search on Lowe’s ap for pvc sheet it comes up with “black foam pvc”. Is that the same?
