    Yeah good message Tom. Can’t buy a solution to survival. Ability to learn, adapt, improvise, and use whatever is available is the most valuable survival asset and comes with experience. That means get out there and do stuff! Besides it’s fun!

      Hello Joe, Thank you very much! I can't eat the food I bring home from hunting and fishing fast enough. So much good food is right.
      I hope you're having a great evening, Joe! It won't be long. You'll be setting in your cabin with your deer rifle waiting on deer. :)

      Hello Edman! Good morning Edman, I'm in one of the busiest summers I can remember. Mother Nature really threw me a curve ball last winter. I've pulled away from the real work of cutting to have some fun work. I'm working on the boat build because I really enjoy and dream about the new fishing adventures to come with the new boat. Just a big kid, my friend, just a big kid, lol
      I hope you're having a great summer. Things well settle down by hunting season. Lol

    Morning Tom! Enjoying coffee with you from my cabin!
    I agree with you completely, and its probably the reason most of us have coffee with you, because its like sitting with a friend talking about reality, haha.
    If you are surviving, thats something you do when things go wrong, and not much fun. If things are going well, thats called living! And you're living quite well!
    A few odd jobs are getting done around my cabin.....but the heat here is ridiculous and slowing everything down. Its been so hot that just moving at all is uncomfortable. Humidity is through the roof.
    Well I hope you keep having fun in the boat and keep catching fish for the canner!

      Good evening Jason,
      Something here! Hot humid, and I'm not getting anything done this week lol slow moving days.
      You're absolutely right. We are not just supposed to survive. What a ridiculous idea that is to me just to be happy with surviving.
      I'm glad to hear you're at your cabin!

    Hey Tom, this is your buddy Donald, in SC. I was back to selling some stuff on Facebook marketplace, and a guy came and bought a bunch of Mason jars, he's a transplant, and talked about fishing near Canadian border, mabe same waters you fish. He's from a very northern New York town, sounded like threesville,ever heard of it?

    • @EastGrandWoodsman
      @EastGrandWoodsman  5 місяців тому

      Good morning Donald, I haven't heard of it. New York is about six hours from here. How's your temperature been in NC? We've been hitting the 90s with high humidity.
      I've got some 357s loaded up your gas checks. :)

    Just catching up on more videos, this was refreshing Tom, you have touched on some very important knowledge, the guns, the boats, the hunting, fishing, trapping skills etc., you have lots of variety of fish there, thanks for interesting video. I just noticed someone moved from Florida to Alaska to live off grid, I would think the winter temperatures are going to be a shock if you have not experienced it before.

    • @EastGrandWoodsman
      @EastGrandWoodsman  4 місяці тому

      Hello! Thank you very much! :) Yes, we really do have a lot of kinds of fish to eat. Many more, I didn't mention. Lol. The list would be too long.
      Can you even imagine moving from hot humid Florida to Alaska. I'd say that 1st winter would be an eye-opener. Even the off grid living that 1st year. Lots of on the job training that 1st year. I hope they enjoy their adventure! :)
      I hope you're having a great evening!

      Good morning Bill, Bar Harbor will be a great place for your vacation! August will be a little busy around Bar Harbor. Any other time of year I a lot of places would be closed.
      I'm about 3 hrs north of Bar Harbor. I hope you have a great vacation!

    I'm always looking forward to your videos Tom it's so beautiful up there I'm wanting to move up there but it's very expensive traveling across the country just to property shop. I wish there was a service provided that a person could pay for to walk the land while on video chat, communicate restrictions on said property and give their honest opinions.

    • @EastGrandWoodsman
      @EastGrandWoodsman  5 місяців тому +1

      Good morning, Thank you very much! Yes, that would be a great service. I think it could be expensive. It took me three days to find the pins of Beaver Creek Deer Camp. Lots of homework. Great idea. You find something. Drop me an email I've hunted and fish this state. Maybe I can help.

    Tom I got a question. In August when I'm up. I really like fishing the penobscot river along rt 11 headed forward millinocket. I get some very nice small mouth bass.. can I keep them to eat. I have always put them back.. I got checked a few years ago. The warden was very nice. A d we talked shop. . 😊 Pennsylvania buddy Jeff 😊😊

    • @EastGrandWoodsman
      @EastGrandWoodsman  5 місяців тому +1

      Hello Jeff, I don't know the laws for the Penobscot River over there. Go to the Maine Fish and Game website. Look for the water you want to fish. Just to find out the legal season. Sounds to make like you'll be eating fish nuggets 😋

    The fact is that false information and gadgets will get you killed. Could an experienced person survive ? Most likley but as you said ,no coffee , salt, flour , beans , ...the list could be endless. Good luck

      Good morning Paul, You old woodsmen! You know the importance of a good cup of coffee ☕️ in the morning and a bag of beans with a sack of flour.
      I hope you're having a great morning! The boat is coming along. There is plenty of room in the boat if you get time to come down and fill it with fish.

      @@EastGrandWoodsman good morning my friend . Yes. I do believe that in addition to enough food a gew extras are about as important . Part of the survival , self sufficiency battle is keeping your spirits up. Keep telling them Tom. It may save a few tough days , maybe even a life

      You would not believe how many people are moving to Maine right now to live off the land. It's just crazy that they think they can live in the woods in winter with no experience. :)
