I'm gonna listen to it again, but I wanted to say that all the little touches are amazing as is the song in general. Fundy being the only one in more shadow choosing not to look, Phil seeming to be heading towards him, Techno staying longer than the rest and being toasted to. And then the lyrics and the music, it was moving. I haven't even see the stream this is based off of yet for Wilbur and I'm sad!
This is gonna be so good, I can't wait!! The way he turned to Techno at the end while holding up his glass as the lines "Goodbye and joy be with you all" hurts 😭
This last part where c! Wilbur and everyone turn to techno, I realize that it like showing respect to techno for the last moment...damn it gonna make me cry..your song is always beautiful 😁
Idk why but I’m getting fucking hamilton vibes from the lyrics and the well-done animation. Maybe it’s from Wilbur raising his glass for one last time or the fact that his act of retelling and rechanging his story is very prominent in this song. It feels like going back to a time where he want to go back to being L’manbur or the simplicity of it all. And that last scene with Techno… it hurts so much but in a way that’s bittersweet. Like it was meant to be (unintended reference kekw). But to cut it straight, this was probably one of the best works of yours I’ve seen! Love you lots :)
This song is an absolute masterpiece. It brings up a lot of emotion from the Dream SMP lore but also the reality of Techno's passing. I'll talk about both: Dream SMP - Now I'm definitely finished with Wilbur's lore, but his final round of apologies and goodbyes to the people important to him was definitely heartbreaking. His self worth is not even important to him anymore; he's already put himself before the people he cared about when he blew up L'manberg in his initial death. But as he understands the people he's hurt more and more, his heart is filled with empathy for everyone else and self-loathing. In that final lore stream, he was still never able to forgive himself after all. But he took the second chance that Ranboo gave him with his death and Phil's advice seriously: apologise, make amends and get out of everyone's lives. He then goes to Techno (funny how he was first when in this song he's last) - and apologises to him for using him in pogtopia - which well; that's something Techno loathed Pogtopia for and that probably set a spark in him (I mean he made amends with Tubbo at the end there too!). He then talked to Tubbo and gave him the line that he deserved to hear that entire time - that he would have indeed made a great President; if circumstances were different. He talked to Eret and gave him the closure he needed by treating him like an equal and giving him closure. He talked to Fundy, and let him go after realising that Fundy didn't want him; no matter how much it hurt. He talked to Niki, admiring her patience in waiting for him and did something good with her in the end for Ghostbur. And then Tommy; well, he did everything he darn well could have for Tommy, hell the revelation that he saw L'manberg as an extension of Tommy and that's enough to show that he lived that entire portion of his life for him. He wished for their happiness and closure; and then...well he left :). He didn't forgive himself and sure as hell still carries his own burdens, but he hoped that he gave everyone the solace they deserved at least in a small way. It was a sad, but necessary departure. I am glad that he didn't end up killing himself, but well; in the light of his finale; I hope he found some peace. Reality - My feelings for Techno's death is pretty similar. Now in Techno's case, he was incredibly admirable. I could not imagine what being put in a position where you're forced to part with the people you care about feels like; but Techno also put everyone else over his own feelings; everyone says that he had an overwhelmingly positive attitude despite the hand he was dealt and I believe that it was incredibly intentional. This song actually made me think of Wilbur's tribute stream where he talked with Phil - and in every story, Techno was trying to make connections, and he held those connections close to him. But in every other Techno tribute from these content creators - well I see the same thing. He was someone's hero, someone's close friend, someone's long time friend, someone's son. That's why it hurts to see him go; he wished for our happiness and closure and then he also left (like Wilbur on the Dream SMP). I can't speak for Techno's self worth but I think he also wishes for our solace as he indeed flies high. It was a sad departure - will not say it was necessary because cancer is an oh so cruel way to go. In the light of Techno's final days, I also hope he found some peace too. This song hits a lot of emotional buttons, thanks for making it :).
It almost feels like they are all spectres of who they used to be in the context of the image...but man,Techno espeically hits hard.Makes me how hard this'll hit in a few decades.
THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL it’s literally going to make me cry extremely well done. c!Wilbur is showing a lot of concerning signs rn and I’m terrified he might be planning to die again, this song captures a lot of that really well
PJA, Your voice is beautiful. I’ve listened since Theme of the Abandoned, and when your music plays my budgie will sing along. I had rescued my bird from a not great home and she never chirped until I played your music. Now, she screeches like a normal, happy bird. Thank you.
An already painful song and you've made it hurt even more. Truly a master piece and yes, I cried at the end with Techno. But just everything about this, you captured that lonely feeling, that feeling of this being the only way, so well. Truly well done.
I think this may be my very favourite DSMP song of all the songs you have made. The emotion, the feeling, the finality. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent with us ❤️
@@padme_amadalla this i’m not sure, since I submitted the single to my distributor pretty close to the premiere date. make sure to pre-save though, it may notify you that it has already been released
I've thought for a while that the Parting Glass would fit c!Wilbur really well. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one! If anyone's curious, there's a great version of the original song by the High Kings here on UA-cam.
The fact that the last “goodbye and let joy be with you all” was no finished kind of makes it seem like our man techno tried to ( and succeed in) making us happy till the very end. Rip
This is gonna be hella good, your music never disappoints. I won’t be able to make the premiere but the first thing I’m doing when I’m free is coming to listen.
this lighting and scene, I feel that LM's flag is like a noose, the whole song feels like Revivedbur is standing at a certain end point to review his life after drinking heavily, he goes to the ending that belongs him....... The lyrics are really good, I love your singing
I absolutely love this song!! There aren't many songs that show C!Wilbur's pain and weakness, mainly just him being off the hook and insane. But in reality, I think he has one of the saddest stories on the smp. Amazing, honestly!!!
Our king will always live on in our hearts. We all miss him but he would want us to be happy as well. May he rest in peace. We will forever be grateful for all you have done king. 🐷👑 And thank you for this lovely song.
your interpretation of characters is by far my favorite ever you understand them all on such a deep level and you’re able to convey their feelings SO WELL through your songs it’s absolutely incredible i love all your music so so much
I'm surprised that no one in the comments noticed the line that came from techno's last note and how the song feels more like a tribute to techno at the same time as it is wilburs song
I miss him so much. I come back to this song at least a couple times each week, and this time I managed to get to the end of it before I broke down. He was the first youtuber I found myself, without recomendation by anyone, and the one I have watched for the longest time. I still can't get past how we won't get any more technocontent
That ending when Wilbur turned to Techno really threw me off guard. So beautiful, so painful. This whole song is so soft while stabbing you in the heart. Thank you, PJ, for this masterpiece 💙👑o7
This is giving me Aaron Burr/Alexander Hamilton/The Story of Tonight vibes from Hamilton, but nonetheless its a beautiful song, the bit where Wilbur raises a toast to Techno made me shed a tear, the harmonies are absolutely beautiful and the art is amazing. This is really an piece of art.
this is probably my new favorite song of yours- your voice, the piano, the harmonies near the end, and the melody in general just makes me want to cry :') keep up the great work!

Beautiful, stunning, graceful. Just wow. Astonishing work. I literally have chills. I'm blown away once more. I look forward to the next. And may I just raise a glass to that. TECHNOBLADE NEVER DIES!!
PJ, I love your voice, and this song is beautiful. At the end when Wilbur was raising his glass and saying, "Goodbye and joy to all" my heart sank. I've taken Techno's death very hard, along with, I'm sure, many others. But I'm sure he would want us to live on and be happy, to live on his legacy. And he passed down the crown to us, his fans, his friends, his family, for us to hold our heads high. I also loved the art style in this video. Ranboo in the back with Eret and Niki, Fundy behind Phil in the shadows, his ears are folded, and Techno fading away at the end next to Tommy. This song overall is a masterpiece ❤️👏

Each lyric hits harder than the last, this song is truly a work of art! And wow, from 3:12 to the end I had full on chills, your voice and the overall instrumental was amazing. It really feels like c!Wilbur's last round, his last quest to find some sort of solace before ultimately closing the curtain. I sure hope his whole journey as a character will end somewhat well, but with Wilbur we never know X) (And the very last part of the song being dedicated to Techno was such a nice touch).
