    I asked this on your post about this video, but do you have any tips on how to educate my parents on why it's safe to bind? I really want one before school starts, and I think that that's their main concern about it. Have a great day! ❤

    • @graveyardpansy
      @graveyardpansy  6 років тому +3

      This took me a while to convince my parents on and I’ve considered making a more expansive video on the topic? but i think what’s most effective is talking about how much safer binding is than its alternatives, and that you want a binder because it’s safer than the other options you might need to defer to if you can’t get one. also make sure they know that YOU know how to bind safely - start off w shorter times, use the right size, etc. i think that covers the safety concern aspect? i hope i can help ❤️

    I'm an afab, who has just started to question their gender identity and this video helped me a lot. I discovered that I might be non-binary just few days ago and I have gone through pretty rough dysphoria lately. This night was one of those nights. I was shaking and panicking, but after I found this video I managed to calm myself down. Thank you for this video it really helped.

    So um. Comrade. I know you likely won't see this, but as a Nonbinary teenager I really struggle with trying to come out of the closet. My family (caretakers) consists of extremely transphobic and homophobic close-minded people and they do not believe in any gender other than male and female, nor do they believe that bisexuality is an actual thing rather than something girls use to makes guys think they're hot. I came out to my biological dad and at first he was like 'hell yeah you go kid' and it was just like. He was fine with it. So, sense he was the only family member I was comfortable with gender-wise, I brought it up several times, and he just didn't really mind it. Then, one day, he looked me in the eyes and said, to my face, "You are not nonbinary". That pushed me farther back into the closet than I've ever been, so naturally it really hurt me. Thinking back on it today (a few months later), I'm still really upset that even the one family member I thought was there for me, doesn't even support my gender. Later on, these days, he often goes on about how you're "not trans unless you got the surgery" and how trans people are wrong for feeling anything other than stronger cisgender emotions because "God never makes mistakes". He'll go on for 15 minutes "defending biological sex", and to know the one person in my family I thought I could trustis transphobic and doesn't believe in my Nonbinary identity, it hurts. A lot.
    Also Edit; You look very, very huggable

    I asked a question that wasn't answered in this video but maybe some of you guys in the comments can help me out! I was wondering if anyone knows any nonbinary alternatives to 'Mum' or 'Dad'? Like what should a nonbinary person's children refer to them as? Do names like this exist? Thanks in advance! xx

      A few that I’ve heard are zaza, like mama or dada but with z; “rent” as short for parent, or just “enby!” But it really comes down to what the parent is comfortable with :)

    Why is it so hard for people to understand this non binary thing. Like, if people ask you if you're a guy or a girl and neither one of them sounds good to you.. Then you're non binary. I myself always feel like I can't freaking choose.. Which one am I, male or female.. Like literally I think about it for like 5 seconds before clicking. I'd like to choose "male" but then I end up choosing "female" cuz well, I have ovaries, I don't freaking know. I am something NB but more male than female. Maybe 60% male, 40% female. Or 70 and 30. It kinda varies. I'm definitely not 100% female, not even 90.

    I think I am pan/bi because I like woman and men and lgbt 🏳️‍🌈 people like you I am still dithering about exactly who I want to identify as but I am slowly figuring it out over time but because I really like your name and my original name starts with A & because you are such an amazing activist for the lgbt 🏳️‍🌈 community i have asked one of my best friend to call me Ashton and now her trans friend now calls my Ashton!!! All because of you and the way you are so respectful towards everyone I chose that name to be identified as! I am still thinking about all this however it is so much to process I confuse a lot of people and i also wanted to switch from being a girl to a boy at birth however some of my family and closest friends are a bit skeptical because even though I know that is how I wanted things to be and sadly it never happened. Also because I like pink clothes I like girls toys and sometimes boys and I love ❤️ pikachu and Mario and sonic and tails and girly toys then I also like a few select boys toys and some video games & kids things and jewelry and makeup and Disney Princess & all this stuff so because I never really said I want to be a boy at that time that it isn’t really the way I identify as because they have never seen it yet nevertheless had any indication that that was the way I actually wanted things to be & not everything I own is pink and girly either I own a lot of clothes too that would be considered gender neutral and some girly clothes & I also like glitter and nail polish! I want to be Ashton nonbinary because I like some people no matter what and that is the way it is for me...I also what to be named Ashton because my original name is only female associated and you can’t shorten it into a boys name only a girls & in my opinion gender is just a label i don’t think I need a definitive defined gender in order to exist in this world!!! 🌎

      First of all, kinda rude.
      Second, they state in the beginning of their video they're a nonbinary trans male, meaning they were born a female. Did they transition and get bottom surgery? Probably not, they mentioned they don't really about their no-no square, but does it matter either way? No, no it doesn't.

  • @zypherislost2157
    @zypherislost2157 5 років тому

    I don’t mean this as hate, but genetically and biologically people were born either female or male and that can even be proven in your genetic structure. Non-binary is kind of dumb? Yes, I am saying that being non-binary is kind of like believing in a god. It isn’t true. Your born male, becoming non-binary is like waking one day and saying, “ oh I want to be a girl now. “ and start telling people your non-binary and that you identify as a female now. No! I myself am so tired of people thinking they can just change their gender because they feel they were born the wrong one. Just stick to your gender because it’s the one your gonna be until death, doesn’t even matter if you wear a binder or get Implants or decide to just straight up cut your dick off. Also I was lying, this is meant as hate towards non-binaries.
