I bought the GMMK Pro while it was on sale for Black Friday and am pretty happy with it.
I recognize it isn't the best, but my keyboard needed replacing and I don't really have the time (needed keyboard) nor space to just wait around or have multiple options. So the perma-in stock is a major bonus that just can't be discounted. I came from an old razer chroma.
I also bought their lubed panda switches, so far so good. I have noticed a few keys that don't seem to activate consistently. Not sure if that is a keyboard/pcb issue, or a common thing when you buy switches where a few in the pack are going to be DOA.

Hey there! Thanks for sharing your experience with the GMMK Pro. It's great that the perma-in stock option was a major plus for you. For some reason UA-cam always pushes keyboard content and reviews at me. I'm not sure why, I'm not interested in basically anything in this video, but here we are.
I use a Dvorak, ps/2, buckling-spring keyboard from unicomp. It has 4-key(?) roll over and I only use it to occasionally input text.
For gaming I use a razer naga trinity + nostromo combo or a controller or dual joystick depending on the game.
All that said, these videos are well made and fun to watch - I'm just not sure why they get pushed to me in the first place.

I found your channel late last year and it inspired me to upgrade from my old keyboard of 6 years that was not hot-swappable. I got a Nuphy Halo75 with Rose Glacier tactile switches, and lubed the switches+modded a few of the stabilizers (most of them were surprisingly secure). Since then I replaced the switches with lubed Baby Raccoon linear switches and slightly heavier retro PTB keycaps. Also not a single mention about ISO layouts. I don't want to critize you in any way but the keyboard community as a whole. There is so much we could do but it's literally always TKL ANSI and low-profile doesn't really exist at all. And I also want to mention the pricing. Holy sh.. 100$ for a pair of keycaps? What the actual f? Excuse me but who is seriously buying keycaps for over 50$. They remain pieces of plastic and they definitly aren't worth more than 50$. I don't think anybody will spend more than that but I could be wrong tho.

I'm typing this on an NZXT Mini TKL right now, but it's my first mechanical and I got it for half price, so I'm a pretty big fan so far. I think that, as someone who's upgrading from an incredibly cheapo rattly membrane keyboard, literally anything would've been good, but I think the main reasons I'm not bothered by the issues you pointed out in that video are 1: I don't plan on taking this keyboard apart until I stop using it, 2: I think you might've cut it a little more slack if you'd gotten it for $60, and 3: I realized that I'm probably gonna need to build a split keyboard to prevent hand strain anyway, so at WORST, I basically just paid $60 for an OK set of caps and switches (which... I think is a decent price?) But yeah, all the problems you had in your video about it are definitely real; I just happen to have other priorities.

Are there any videos on how to fill the spacebar with foam? Like what kind of foam? Do you glue it in place or just put it in there?

This was kind of a wasted video. You broke your one and only rule, that they should be in stock. EVERY keyboard you recommended is out of stock. Sure, the keycaps and keys were a nice addition but when the defeat the purpose of your own rules from the beginning, you defeat the purpose of the video. Maybe should have just said this was a key and key cap recommendations.

In December 2022 I built my very very first mechanical keyboard using RK71 and AKKO Lavender Purples. Then this month I ordered a lube kit and managed to clip and Holee mod the stock stabs and lubed the switches for the first time ever. It turned out great, especially for my first build! Next, I will be building something for my boyfriend as he got fascinated by my process and the final keyboard.
Thanks to Hipyo and many other keyboard channels!

I got a Keychron Q6 as I Have to have the full size. I did pay like 80 Bucks for a Galaxy Keycapset that looks absolutely amazing. this is my first ever "Custom keyboard" I've been using a Razer Chroma Greenswitches since 2017... it still works 100% and wouldnt die. I wanted to Experience the THOCK. and I'm very satisfied with this.

It seems like tons of the boutique mechanical keyboards have backlights, but they don't have key caps that allow light to shine through. So you can see light coming through the gaps between keys, but in a dark room I expect you would not be able to read the key legends.
I'd love to see a roundup of keyboard with well-designed backlighting. If it's RGB, it should have good software to manage it. If it's white, it should present as white and not blue or green or yellow. And above all, it should be practically useful and usable in low-light conditions.

Bought a Keychron K10 as I needed something mechanical, backlit, and wireless for both Windows & Mac. Ended up swapping in Boba U4 switches and YMDK pudding keycaps. Moving that to my living room PC and am putting together a K10 Pro with Boba U4s and Drop Skylight keycaps. For full-size wireless mechanical boards, Keychron is the best (and one of the few, admittedly) available!

Best price to performance when you want a very good SIlence, full keyboard (96%, i need my Numpad xD)
It costsin Europe 125 Euro.. so you cant beat that for a very good full pre build, lubed, hot swap keyboard with very good isolation/foam inside

Hip, I want to thank you for all the entertaining videos. I stumbled onto your channel for some unknown reason last year. I'm almost an expert in custom keyboards despite never owning one or lubing a switch (thx god). I'm a video editor and I enjoy silent slim mac keyboards. So why am I here? There is something satisfying watching someone do all work. I think I would have a mental break down if I reviewed keyboards for a year.

My main concern is as a writer the letters fading on the keyboards. I am currently going through three a year. So switches etc are not really necessary. Just a keyboard where the letters don't vanish after 3 or 4 months. All suggestions are welcome. Oh, and writers don't make much so price is definitely a factor.

I have purchased these last year as a gift to someone and I did a lot of fine tuning and the sound just came out to being super worth it. So its a good thing I'm getting confirmation from the keyboard pro that it was a good option 👍
