True? Helpful? Kind? So true. Sometimes we create nightmare scenarios, no matter how small, and then act on them. That sort of thinking usually results from past trauma. Thank you for your words of wisdom, Woody. I hope the radiation zaps the cancer.

Hi. My stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis was almost 3 years ago as well.
I underwent chemotherapy and have been on hormonal therapy with Lupron and Zytiga.
In the past few months, my PSA started to rise again. A tumor was found in my spine, specifically in the sacrum, and I’m undergoing radiotherapy as well.
This disease is a daily battle. It consumes all of our energy.
I hope things get better. We have to keep fighting because a better treatment could emerge at any moment, but it’s not easy.
Thank you for sharing. It helps us on this difficult path.
    God bless us.
Stay strong, and I hope the radiotherapy provides positive results.

Sorry to hear session #1 wasn't great. The next one will undoubtedly be better now you have pain control and know the process. Keep going!

Sorry you had a bad session with radiation but it’s important to keep it up Woody. Walking is good.

Woody -sorry to hear that it was so rough for your first radio session. I am sure that it will get easier as you get to know how all works. The good thing is that you only have 6 sessions- I think that they call that the ultra hypo fractionated scheme. They gave me that one on my prostate in January- I still haven’t had it explained to me why it is 6 sessions for some (at a higher dose ) or more sessions (15ish?) at a lower dose. I am sure that you will get through the course and it all helps to hit the cancer.

I had leg molds 12 yrs ago that kept me in position. This time i had full hip to leg molds. Sounds like you don't have these in the NHS system. Just giving you my experience from the Canadian health system. I noticed that having the full molds was better second time around, as my hips weren't on that hard table like during the first session. Take care my friend. It will all be over soon.

No we don't, I have to just lay still and of course that's most of the problem when you are told to lay still you then start wondering if you are still and the body involuntarily moves.
I think some kind of moulds to keep you in place sounds very good 🤕

Sir i have one more question in your 3 year of prostate cancer journey how many times your cancer recurrence??

    • @Livingwith-prostatecancer
      @Livingwith-prostatecancer  Місяць тому

Hi Gulshan this is my first time that the cancer has reoccurred. I have been almost in total remission for three years but my PSA crept up very slow and after a PET scan they discover 3 new areas which is why I'm now on radiotherapy

Hi Gulshan apologies I thought I had already replied to this question
I'm not a doctor but I do know that your father's PSA is very low and has only slightly risen , it can fluctuate up and down as mine has sometimes done. Hopefully that is all it is just a blip 🙏
