I was 16 that day, it happened on June 17th, 1994. The summer between my junior and senior year of high school. As the chase unfolded my Mom suggested we order a pizza, so we sat and watched the OJ chase and had pizza that night. Definitely one of those "do you remember where you were" moments in life if you're old enough to have been there when it happened.
405 congestion was just as bad in 1994 as it is today. They had closed off the entrance ramps ahead of the chase as it was happening so the freeway was empty, except for the growing crowds who lined it and were above it on the overpasses with signs and cheering him on.
The original Naked Gun is one of my all-time favorite movies. It came out in 1988 and my Dad took me to see it. I was 11 and right around the time I started to understand adult humor. We both laughed so hard I thought we were going to toss our insides out, and the entire theater was on the floor too.
Not only will no one ever convince me that OJ wasn't guilty, no one can ever convince me there was another possible suspect on planet earth. Not only was he literally swimming in evidence (that Mark Furman and the LAPD totally fuk'd up) but there was not another possible suspect who'd ever want to do that to Ron and Nicole.
The Goldmans and the Browns to this day have suffered tremendously without justice being done. So Unfair and it still burns me up to this day.

    • @sqlevolicious
      @sqlevolicious 2 роки тому

The kardasian's fame and fortune exists becasue of this tragedy and it makes me even more angry.
Because of the corrupt and racist LAPD, they were so stupid and unlawful, they become responsible for one of the worst cases of missed justice this country had ever seen. It set a precedent that has been lowering the bar of justice ever since.
I'm still furious OJ hasn't been taken to court again and the evidence looked over again. This country should demand a retrial.

@@sqlevolicious It's a pathetic joke how Kardashian and his brainless offspring were able to cash in on this.
Since it's unconstitutional to try him again on two counts of murder, the county DA needs to find some crimes associated with it that he was NOT charged with.
To this day it befuddles me how Marcia Clark and Mark Furman were able to keep their jobs after that. She should have been permanently disbarred and he should have been banned from ever working for every police jurisdiction in America.
Hell that useless judge, Lance Ito, he should have lost his job too..... he let that trial turn into a media circus and let that jury become tarnished. He should have banned ALL microphones and cameras, allowing only paper and pencil writing materials and sketch artists. And that jury should have been sequestered so tight they had 3 sheriffs officers escort them whenever they needed to use the bathroom.

There were people hanging over the overpasses with signs and as they got closer, all fwy traffic stopped. I saw Al Cowling driving, but couldn't see OJ as he was hiding down on the floorboard. Quite the creative and eclectic video for Halloween. Love the DougD cameo at the end.
Your grandparents are very nice. It is illustrative of how much people adored OJ and how that made his trial so controversial. He picked the wrong guy to kill. His father never let up until he took him to civil trial suing OJ for the unlawful death of his son. Finally, he was found guilty and paid with his fortune.
I stayed at the haunted hotel for a few days on a business convention. No ghosts. I did meet John McCain. He was a guest speaker telling his story of years in captivity in a concentration camp. It was a very moving tribute to the will to survive. I always had a positive view of him since that meeting.

LMC Truck might have that tailgate trim piece. im not sure how new they go, but its worth a look! a ridiculously solid and clean survivor from the great 90s. this is my favorite era of ford truck. my grampa had a couple from that era, used as farm trucks, and they were solid and dependable. i even highjacked one of them when i was a teen for a night of "fun" with the woman who is now my wife! so yeah, those old fords bring great memories for me!

He was acquitted but the LAPD flubbed the investigation so badly we'll never know with absolute certainty who did it, though I think it's likely he did it. One theory I find interesting is that his son did it and OJ messed up evidence to protect him.

I find it such a disgusting American thing to do all those true-crime documentaries and shows giving those murdering aholes all this exposure (and eventually generating lots of cash from them). Instead those maniacs should be locked up forever and not remembered by anyone, the people involved and those who lived through the period will know them anyway and that's enough "celebritism" in my opinion!

Everyone trolling Hoovie’s “weekly towing test” 🤣😂 things like this is why you gotta love Hoovie. Not only cool, very unique vehicle choices but extremely informative as well. The entire episode isn’t all about the vehicle and gotta love when he gets a car with a story and tells it over the course of a 15-20 min video. Doug has his crowd as well but become very boring rather quickly. And both are not like every other UA-cam channel that follows the “buy a tuner classic or super/exotic car then mod it” recipe. DDE is getting to the point that the same recipe is just boring. It’s sweet to see someone buy regular cars and fix em up properly.
