Very grateful for this video, I had thought of acquiring a p3 gauge for my golf, but you are afraid of the installation, so with the video I see that it is very simple.
No problem, we try to design the models to be easy to install so anyone can do it. You can also purchase with the vent included so you don't have to take your vent apart. If you have any install questions feel free to email us - support@p3cars.com, thanks! - Jake
If your car is stock you can read boost just fine through the OBD2 port. However, older vehicles like this one that do not have factory MAP sensors cannot give you an actual boost reading. Instead, you can have a calculated boost reading using factory PIDs that is very accurate but as you tune the car the reading can become less and less accurate.
Hello Joshua, for most cars you can read everything through the OBD2 Port with the OBD2 Multi-Guage. If you go above about 22.5 PSI of boost or boost a car that came naturally aspirated from the factory then you will also probably need an analog boost sensor.
No, the gauge uses logic based off battery voltage to know how to turn on and off. This allows the gauge to turn on and off with your engine automatically.
the price is insane just buy a good boost gauge for #100 and reference it from the manifold like normal. $500+ installed on a vent. They are out of their minds
Armando, you can find the gauge for the mk5 Jetta here - www.p3cars.com/volkswagen/vw-golf-gti-rabbit/vw-mk5-p3-obd2-multi-gauge/ The Mk5 Jetta and Golf use the same gauge as they have the same vent and same engine options.

Is the boost reading through OBD or is it better to get tubing kit for accurate boost readings

@@P3Gauges ahh, mine is a gti mk5 stage 1. So readings might not be that accurate then.
Hi, does this also show oil temp? Does this work with 2005 EURO MK5 GTI DSG (TFSI)?
The gauge can show oil temp through one of the analog inputs but not through the OBD2 Port. It will work on your GTI just fine. :)
Dose it work on the rabbit
Yes it does!
Could it tell you the cars millage?
Currently we do not offer odometer as a readout.
E-MFA shows the same information :)
Is it the same vent for rhd mk5s?
They are very similar but are different, mirrored parts. The install process will be the same however, just on the other side of the car.
Hi how is this fitted does it need anything doing to the engine or does it run boost and stuff off the ECU

Would that not drain the battery even more?

Where can I get uk?
Hello James, For purchasing in the UK you can contact www.P3gauges.co.uk or you can contact www.theperformance.co/

Will this work in a mark 5 Jetta ?
Yes, absolutely!
P3 Cars do I purchase the golf gti one I can’t find my model I’m not sure which will work on my car
