With the diesel dragster; I'd imagine the flames are just from the combustion chamber after the piston reaches BDC - there's so much fuel going into that cylinder that not all of it has finished burning after the exhaust valve opens.
Yeah that is what I assumed
Yes and you can see this easily on any engine running if you pull the exhaust manifold.
You will then have flames coming out of the exhaust, now boost up the performance, put a really short exhaust system on and I can clearly see how you can make that flame travel all the way down the pipe with a rich mixture.
That’s why it pops. Some of the combustion happens in the exhaust. Imagine being a car youtuber, and being this retarded
There also carbon deposits that will ignite similarly to that as they pop and burn off.
certified tech here. this sounds accurate enough
"Ah screw you Ferrari you bunch of idiots" Say in an Italian voice
Best line I've ever heard from an Italian Dad
I still don't understand why Ferrari was charged their tires so many times lol.
he isn’t wrong they’re fucking stupid
Mattia Binotto? More like "50,000 euros-dead or alive"
Ferruccio Lamborghini after Enzo Ferrari insulted him:
bruh ferrari and their garbage strats
Fun fact : the mega track has a raising suspension. You could drive it on a rough terrain. It was designed so buyers could compete in the Dakar race with it. It also has a rear view camera. Not to be modern but you couldn't see anything so it was necessary. Rear view camera were rare at the time. It was a really BIG car too.
I add this too :
10 have been produced. 1 is still on the road in Austria and 1 in Monaco. 2 are in the Aixam HQ. I don't know for others, but 1 is probably in Dubai
I mean it is by far wider than the Range Rover Sport in the video, and that's not a tiny car...
ALSO its powered by a Mercedes V12 and the tail lights seem to be from an Audi 80
It was a better and more usable Porsche 911 Dakar
1:35 The exhaust valves open faster that combustion can end, so the fire from combustion excapes to the exhaust pipes, or here - to the headers.
Glad to see our cars in France are having some fun!
9:49 can we just take a moment to wonder how he came up with that name 😂
Immaturity..... definitely
5:58 never in my life would I see a giant industrial mining machine drift so well.
They don't do mining. They're for construction.
The guy who shot the footage at 9:49 must have some fond memories of his days at school
4:27 I agree with UA-cam subtitles, that engine sound is pure music
*continue*
This the best Weekly Dose of Automotive Stuff episode so far
6:45 that sound effect was needed for that tyre.
Original fart reverb leaked raw audio
I think that we can all assume that the Twingo 1 is the *best* car ever made.
Twingo might be the Best, but nothing can beat the Daewoo Matiz
@@moryak_ W
100% agreed
I own one. Can confirm. Am making a documentary on it.
If I can confirm as a twingo owner, they almost never die, and there always happy

2:05 Please don't forget the OGs, the Ford Falcon XR8 and the GOATED Holden Commodore SS.
10:45 i know whats wrong with it, aint go no gas in it
its funky how the idea of making cars around engines has actually existed for a while
mostly on old airplanes

It's always a great day when you trick the algorithm into providing context for your controversial titles. :p
2:08 That's an auto 300C being used in the Australian state of New South Wales.
Here in SA in the mid 2000's, we had manual Holden Commodore SS's running around as cop cars. Very nice
in vic we had ss's and xr6 turbos lol
5:12 every automation car
that honda did indeed pull up
Your new wheels and the new lights just look awsome! Good luck with your projekt. (Please make more Carhunts :) 👉👈)
I love how UA-cam gave me a context box for the video about global warming, literally that friend who don't get jokes and over explain everything
3:49 Cmon not the yugo
Perfect timing. I was junst bingeing your vids for the 20th time.
Also, thanks to you i am now looking for an NA Miata
good decision!
@@CarMighty the only problem is finding a good one for a reasonable price here in Germany 🥲
@@Birb_of_Judge I thought they were expensive in Norway. Apparently the ones in Germany are about 2000€ more

Honestly, I can't blame the Italian dad. I'm not a Ferrari fan, hell last year was my first time watching F1, but even I was absolutely baffled at their strategies.
watch 2020, seb started on medium then10 laps on hard, rest on soft for 42laps... IN BARCELONA

little fun fact about the twingo boat, or story i should say, somebody in my town had one for as long as i can remember going at the port and seeing it ( first time i was like 5 or smth), that guy was famous for getting stuck on the beach with it numerous times, because as he said "I can drive my car well enough, a boat attached to it isnt a problem !", he ended up scraping it when i was 8 or around that age, got stuck on a rock a pierced the haul too badly to repair it, the car got saved tho from what i remember xD
Welcome to France xD
7:35 lights are from audi coupe (80) xD
My first thought when I saw this. :D
A wheel will wheel. Best Content!

I know one case specifically where the vehicle was built around the engine. In the 80's-90's era, Yamaha designed the Virago. It was a 2-cylinder motorbike that ran beautifully, very smooth to ride, amazing engine. When the Virago line was retired and the V-Star line came in in the early 2000's, they used the same Virago engine and built the V-Star frame and chassis around the Virago motor. This means in order to change an oil filter on a V-Star, you have to pull a stupid amount of parts off you shouldn't need to pull on any bike, including exhaust. I know this because I have had to replace oil filters on them before.
About the diesel car shooting flames, I think the reason why it does that is because the exaust pipe is very short and the mixture might be too fuel rich, in term the deisel will still be burning by the time the piston starts moving into the contracted position opening the exaust valve causing flames to go down the exaust pipe, and there is also no catalizator built into the exaust pipe. Other than that I couldn't come up with any other explination
Loved it when you warmed up to the idea of the lifted Miata lol. I'm eager to see your custom upgraded Miata.

8:20 my dads bottom after Taco Bell
I forgot how satisfying it is to watch tanks run over and destroy everything.
I love how the New South Wales highway patrol added the Chrysler 300 Hemi to their fleet. Every time I see one I get excited
You know a car is good when the passenger smiles 7:24
I mean the video section during 8.54 gives me the same emotional pain like when im laying in bed and remembering that i have to stand up and brush teeth.
Most high powered diesel drag cars are nitrous assisted through out there run, flames at the start are from them bumping the nitrous to raise the boost quicker for the launch 🙂
8:56 Hand cancer here we commmeee
The black smoke you see from diesels, "rolling coal," is unburnt diesel, so if there is enough of it in a small compact area such as the outlet of these pipes, it is already under considerable heat and pressure, but there is simply no oxygen after the burn cycle within the pipes, so it can ignite once exiting the tube and reaching fresh air.
3:36 "You're not you when you're hungry. Snickers Satisfies"
"Some Honda will pull up"🤣
I believe the reason the diesel dragster can shoot flames is because, once the fuel has been through the engine the exhaust is still carrying a small amount of unspent hydrocarbons (which is now different from plain diesel) and that can be ignited by heat.
But that's just a guess.
I love your work, thanks!
Hey mighty, been a big fan for a long while now, could you maybe do some reactions on mechanical failures?
Keep up the great work

Amazing that I've learned about your origin after watching bagnet's interview with you. Great accent! Pozderki szef!
2:00 in Australia, NSW, We used to use Holden Commodores and Ford Falcons which either had V6s or V8s. Now all Ford Falcons have sadly been retired and most of the Holden V8 and V6 Commodores (but there are a few around). We now use V8 Chrysler 300 SRTs (sadly axed by GM 😒) and diesel BMW 5 Series. I believe in Victoria, there is a BMW M5 highway patrol car.
The abreviation for the Floattruck 💀
i like that there is context for what global warning is, i think the understand by what "boosts global warning" by seeing a jet turbo.
3:36
POV: You drove your father's car home at 200 km/h in a 50 km/h zone to run away from the police and the police inform the army.
The flames from the diesel are from the propane injection. High horsepower diesels use propane the same way gasoline engines use NOS.
Though there are some diesel motors that use a single spark plug, all diesel motors use compression to heat the oxygen to the diesel's spontaneous combustion point. If we include technology that has been in place for 20 or so years like anti lag, we can get flames emitting from the exhaust even from consumer grade vehicles. We even use similar systems on all diesel trucks now with DPF to create a second burn cycle for unburnt fuel but instead of using more diesel, they use DEF. Earlier models, such as the '08 Ford F250, did not use DEF but used diesel in the DPF to create a similar effect. To get back on topic, in the case of the dragster, I believe it could be anti lag because of the time it takes to create the backfire, but it could be an incomplete burn.
2:39 rip the underside of everything there. Cheers to Hoping all is rustproofed.
I love the title lol, it sounds like something that might actually come out of a headline from the onion prob.
That video was in Australia of the Chrysler, but not only that we have other V8 cars as police cars, like falcons and holdens.
5:33 kfz sagt nein.
kfz says no
(note. the name of the credits is geerman and so it apears, that kfz doesnt say no)
Someone in my town has a 59 beetle with a 3.5 Acura engine. Completely built with long travel suspension, 32s in the back and 29s on the front. Yet it’s still partners with the stock vw transmission. Absolutely insane. I think it makes about 320 HP.
sick powerslide at the end
The Mega Track is like a Porsche 911 Dakar or a Huracan Sterrato, it got a tall suspension, which allows it to go offroad, like a sports rally car, and this is the reason why I like it
It also looks like a car from the HD Era GTA
2:05, in America, we’ve used v8s in patrol cars for decades, dodge chargers, ford crown Vic’s, ect
lol the dude burning his clutch to all hell doesn't even realize what happened, just listen to that woohooh XD
6:25 the fall though, so sad

Definitely in my top 5 car channels
The pressure itself is not what ignites the Diesel air mixture, it's the temperature rise resulting from the compression. Diesel does actually burn as well as fuel if you heat it up to the point where it becomes as volatile as gas or atomize it with something like an injector. The explosions you see are most likely antilag. You could inject fuel while the exhaust valve is open to archive that.
"GoPro turn off"🤣
"Well, I don't"🤣

The salt is gonna hurt those cars very badly
Diesel fuel can catch fire and is classified as a flammable liquid according to OSHA, because it has a flashpoint above 199.4 degrees Fahrenheit. The flashpoint of diesel is approximately 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 Celsius). This means in most ambient temperatures it will not ignite. In that case, it must have burnt a little too much.
Hello bro such a timing I just finished studying
