My wife just bought the 700 in black for me for our 5 year anniversary. Sound wise, it is the same as my QC 35 II’s but I love the fact it has touch sensors, also it has a sturdier build due to the metal frame. I like the multiple levels of noise cancellation. Other than that, I like my QC 35 II’s just a little bit more, but I do like these 700’s alot. I am just glad I own them both.

My relationship with my Bose 700 took quite a nose dive when I got the Airpods Pro. Neither sound all that great, but the quick re-pair functionality of the airpods and the incredible convenience factor really made them my go to "in-transit" listening device. Now my Bose 700 only get love when I'm in transit on a long trip (train/plane/bus, especially plane), but even then, on a short plane ride the Airpods pro are way more portable and the ANC is about 80-90% as good. I don't think the B700 sound is disgusting, but they were definitely rushed out the door to compete with Sony, and it shows.

From watching many reviews on different ANC headphones this one has ranked best for call quality for every reviewer. I think you should have mentioned that. I mostly use my headphones for watching movies, and leave them on all day while i work and listen to music but I also do meetings on skype/facebook calls and to be frank all other headphones in this price range fail big time on call quality. I almost bought the MX4 until i realised how bad the call quality was. These are miles ahead in that department. Another reason I'm going with this headphone is build quality appears to be more solid. I break my headphones a lot, had countless headphones snap wile placing them on my head and these are all metal (I think) so I think that will be more durable for me. I take these on and off 10 or so times a day, and have them on at least 12 hours a day.. I hope its the right decision.

I had xm4 but already sold it and chose bose 700 instead, the reasons are, bose 700 earcup is more comfortable for me (personal preference), call quality (definitely) and the last is active noise cancelling, sure xm4 does blocked more noise however my ears got uncomfortable with xm4 ANC when I used it, whereas I never had that with bose 700. For sound quality xm4 also win for this category although the margin is not much, but again I prefer comfort over a slight better sound quality.
This is my personal opinions based on my own experience, and you might feel differently. I suggest you try it by yourself...

I honestly think its because as good as other headphone reviewers are, Zeos isn't as analytical and crticial with devices. He conveys whether he likes something passionately and makes you fall in love with the product. Hyping aside, I much prefer a review from someone who is passionate about a product rather than deliverting critical analyses.
Although a critical analysis is REALLY useful for purchasing decisions, I've always found regardless of good cinematic production and audio, it does limit your ability to connect with the reviewer/youtuber.
Ultimately although I like Josh's videos, I think its clear why Zeos probably will get more views and subscribers.

What's your thought on the best bluetooth headphone for skype/zoom video call or regular phone call in 2020 so far?
Currently, I have tried Bose NC 700 and Galaxy buds live but had to return buds live due to inconsistent mic volume and the hassle of pairing/unpairing Bluetooth upon switching device. I am debating if I should return Bose NC 700 as I heard some random stutter/cracking sound when connecting to two devices at times which disappears when I restart the BT connection. It seems that many people experience this issue on Bose forum and on reddit...
I am thinking about Microsoft surface headphone 2, sony xm4, AirPods pro... etc. Or any other suggestions?
    My budget is under $500.
    Priority:
    1. Microphone quality, not too robotic and clear sound
    2. Bluetooth connectivity/ Bluetooth multipoint pairing capacity
    3. Comfortable to wear, I know this is somewhat subjective... I think the earbuds with a rubber tip for the inner ear canal might not be a good fit for me.
    4. Smaller size/lighter weight
    5. Longer battery life at least 8 hours
    6. Noise-canceling while on the call so that people can hear me in a somewhat noisy environment
    7. Audio/sound quality

I bought the Sony 1000XM4 and the Bose 700 to compare. The Sonys are universally rated higher in most reviews. I expected the Sonys to be better based on reviews like this one. When I compared the two headphones using several generes of music and watching several movies, it wasn't even close, the Bose blew the Sonys away. The are noticeably clearer, more precise, more detailed, and more in control of all ranges, including bass. The Sonys do produce more bass slightly, but it is a lesser quality bass. The Sonys just sound muddy and low resolution compared to the Bose. I really don't understand why they are rated so highly.
As for this guy's comments, they are obtuse. Of course you are buying these for the ANC. Geez, what a stupid set of comments from this putz.
I got these from Costco for $330.00 with the upgraded charging case. In that price range, there's no better noise canceling headphones. These are audiophile quality to a great degree. I really don't get this guy's comments at all.

I have the 700s as well, and a pair of DT1990. There’s absolutely no comparison between these two, as Josh said (but with Sundara as example, but DT1990 are pretty much comparable). The 700s sound hollow in the mid-range and they don’t resolve nearly as well as I expected. That said, I also have Sony 1000XM3 and I agree with your sentiment, the Sony doesn’t sound as nice in any category. But neither are going to satisfy audiophiles at any level.
That’s not why you buy these though. You do it to get through your commute and to wear at a noisy workplace to get some peace and quiet (or music), not to sit home and deep listen to music to enjoy it at a deeper level. Well, you might, but if that is the goal, get Sundaras or something similar instead, they are a much better fit for that purpose.

Any chance you would do a Sennheiser Momentum 3 review? It's BT and ANC and a similar price as the Bose 700 or Sony M3 but in my opinion sounds much better.

I regret not getting these initially. Went with the Sony mx4, and what a steaming pile of goo, returned them after one day and ordered the Bose instead.
I work in industrial production and the Bose 700 are amazing at blocking out sound, the mics are picking up my voice perfectly and I can hear myself, and more importantly, the one I’m calling can hear me no problem.
Bose has always had a pretty flat sound, but with the added eq, they just got significantly better 👍🏻

@@rectorragies540 it’s still the same, very little to complain about, the soundstage is a little more narrow than the Sony mx4 and I wish they had a proper 5-10 band eq, the battery is also not great, I get 17h 52m fully charge according to the app.

How do you like DT990s comparing to HD58X and he4XX?
I have DT880-600, and while their distortions are low, I can't stand their sound signature: no mids and peaky highs. Maybe the 58X would be something that will something more to my liking, sort of HD600 with less vail and more bass.

Definitely agree that ANC was the only reason to get these (until the XM4's came out).
On Samsung (maybe other phones too?) the earcup swipe volume and the device volume aren't connected, so if your NC700's sound too quiet try swiping the earcup to max and then use your volume rocker afterwards.

I find Bose to be more balanced sounding than the Sony. Yes, there's no super deep lows or sparkly highs, but overall, it does produce a pleasant sound, one that you can listen to all day. The Sony has way more bass comparable to Dr. Dre's Beats and is therefore probably more popular with people who are into that.

    • @Hari-kx2er

do not compare headphones using bluetooth, because the sound quality highly depends on the codecs headphones supported. the purpose of the bluetooth is ANC, not SQ, so it is meaningless comparing the SQ when using BT. compare them by using with cable & CD or at least tidal.

I bought these last August (2019); loved them, totally satisfied ... but then, a few days ago, the battery died. Won’t charge. Just dead with a capital D. I decided to go for the Audio Technica 50mx-BT; i don’t care about the lack of noise cancellation (I seldom venture out of my apt). So, if you’re looking at the Bose, beware; I have been a Bose customer for years (Quiet Comfort, the Wave Radio, etc), so it pains me to negatively regard these, but at that price point, there’s no excuse, really.

    • @Raditram
      @Raditram 4 роки тому

So are you happy with the m50xbt? I heard it takes hours and hours to charge them? And is the clamping force ok?

    • @richardthomas47
      @richardthomas47 4 роки тому

      Raditram
I’m quite happy with them; charging time is not an issue. No problem relative to clamping force, although my ears do get warm after long periods of use. Another issue is relative to Bluetooth connectivity: if one has multiple Bluetooth-enabled devices running, before connectivity is successful, all other devices must have their Bluetooth function turned off or pairing will not occur (after you have paired with your device of choice, the other devices may be either turned on or reactivated. I have an iPhone, iPad, and a Kindle that is Bluetooth-enabled, so if I switch from one to another, I have to do the old song and dance. It’s inconvenient, but it’s something I’m now used to, sorta like “muscle memory.”)

Very nice looking. Very attractive piece of design work. Lots of Bose gear fits that bill. Lifestyle stuff. Bose kit is usually quite on mission for that; they do a nice job of that. The weighting isn't ever on the best sound quality for the money. I also do like your efforts to be even handed.

The ANC may not be the best, but it is the most comfortable I've tried. I wouldn't rate sound quality very low but, like the QC35, the sound is very precise but quite bland. I would recommend them over the QC35 just for the ANC off feature where you hear everything

I’m more tempted by the new wave of NC in-ears like the AirPod Pro and Sony WF1080pABCX. The price to performance ratio of flagship Bluetooth buds has always put me off, but with noise cancelling added they are more attractive as an everyday carry, and less bulky than an over ear when you’re travelling.

It distorts in the bass, well after pulling out front spkr drivers out of some 2014 Cadillac crossover, literally a boom box on 4 wheels, I wouldn't be surprised. Really didn't know what to think about it (what a joke is this, 3mm top plate on 6.5" driver), maybe it cost 50cents to produce and dealer wanted a lot of money, I mean a lot, for replacement. The cheapest SB Acoustics line represent Quality of design comparing to Bose for 1/20 of the price.

GREAT unbiased intelligent review. Sound quality is the most important thing to me! I own the Sundara, I agree with you. A very ballsy move to release an inferior pair for a whopping $400! I also own the Sony 100-XM3 (because they retained Aptx for videos and the XM4 did not) in addition the leader of the pack is the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 3 Over Ear NC. Those, my friend, sound AMAZEBALLS, better than the Sony's. So a big NO WAY for the Bose even at a discount of almost half. Nope, not me. I think I will Buy Other Sound Equipment, thanks Josh

It's not though. I literally just bought both today to test then.
      1. Bose ANC is still better.
      2. Sony gives you about 5x more of the pressurized sensation than bose when both are at max setting.
      3. Sony call quality in a noisy environment is one of the worst I've ever experienced.
      4. The bose call quality sounds like you're sitting in a quiet room even when you're outside using your weed wacker. Had my girlfriend hold it full blast and called her and it's crystal clear.
Sony 1000 is a pile of garbage compared to bose 700. It has more base, that's all. And bose can easily get that with a pro version equalizer for a buck 50.
