Did you please do reaction on spies in disguise it is very funny animated spy movie.
Small detail: I'm glad Helen apologized to Violet for pressuring her into making a force field. A lot of the audience was like "stop complaining and make a force field. It'll work out." But it didn't because Violet wasn't confident or experienced, and that was a really emotional moment.
Helen should have trained the kids to use their powers to the fullest, for better control. So it's not Violet's fault she wasn't ready.
@@ScarlettM Since heroes were outlawed, Helen didn't really want her kids to embrace their powers, so she pretty much tolerated them channeling it in private rather than actually trying to control it, plus Violet despised her powers and wouldn't want to train herself. In any case, I think Helen should've known these powers are a part of their identity and taught them at least how to be comfortable with their powers as well as restraint (specifically Dash).
@@OpticalSorcerer It makes more sense to teach kids to control what they must hide. Everyone seen Frozen and the results of "ignoring" a power.
@@ScarlettM I'm just saying that the viewpoint is understandable; the kids' powers are different from Helen's, so she can't fully understand them. The instinct to ignore your differences and blend in is a relateable one. And Frozen is a great comparison, btw.
@@OpticalSorcerer Agree. It's quite possible that she kept postponing indefinitely teaching the kids, because it was something she didn't want to do.
Syndromes name comes from the psychological phenomenon known as Hero's Syndrome.
Basically it refers to someone who thinks he's a hero, and will even create life and death scenarios so he can step in and make himself the hero that saves the day.
Hands down one of the BEST superhero movies that has ever been made. No argument about it.
And my favorite action movie
On animation side of things.
But best action hero movie is logan
@@mane9365 best movie since Spider-Man 2
This is nothing compared to infinty war endgame or thor 3
Brad Bird (the director), ironically voiced Edna Mode. She stole the movie hands down.
When I was little while watching this I thought she was a man.
But years later I discovered Edna’s a she and I’m impressed with director Brad Bird’s voice performance.
This is my oldest son's favorite movie. It's gotten to the point where when it's his turn to pick something for movie night, I have to specify "NOT an Incredibles movie!" Because he'd watch it every chance he got.
The "old school" men are caricatures of Disney veterans Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston. They also supplied the voices.
Walt’s top animators and whom he trusted with his productions those decades ago among the Nine Old Men.
"He wants to relive his glory days"
The name on the soundtrack for the music that plays during the opening sequence (saving the cat, etc) is titled "The Glory Days".
Seeing this again after a long time, I really like how the movie emphasizes that Bob and Helen were the top dogs back in the day. Every set piece just reinforces how competent and smart they are. Makes you really believe that they are in fact incredible!
Holly Hunter learned real pilot lingo specifically for the missile attack scene.
"Honey?"
"What?"
"Where's my super suit?"
"What?"
*"Where?!* Is my super *suit?!"*
I watched Incredibles in the cinema in November 2004, and I have seen it when I was five years old. Now I’m 24 years old
I am glad they’ve won at the Oscars. The second movie is super interesting
Winner of two Oscar trophies is more than enough to satisfy that Pixar did right back in 2004.
21:51 I didn't notice until someone else pointed it out; When Elastigirl punched Mirage, she wasn't just aiming for her. She was also aiming for Mr. Incredible. Luckily, he dodged her punch and caught her wrist instead.
There's two incredibles Easter eggs in Ratatouille. Linguinis underwear has the logo on it, and the mime, aka Bomb voyage, shows up as an actual mime.
Nani Pixar theory
Playing videogames on a school night:
8:39 bob: me
Citizen: my teammates
Robber: enemies
Boss: my parents
The Incredible family's powers:
Bob Parr: Superhuman strength and durability - lift 154 tons
Helen Parr: skin thickness of 1mm allowing her to stretch a maximum of 300ft and jump 80ft in air
Dash Parr: Superhuman speed and agility - top speed = 600 mph (Approximately)
Violet Parr: Clocking and telekinetic force fields
*Jack-Jack Parr: A demon version of Superman*
This is one of my favorite movies of all time!
Another fun fact: the Underminer at the end is voiced by John Ratzenburger. The Pixar team consider him their "good luck charm" and he's voiced a role - some big, some small - in every Pixar movie.
Every one up to Onward. After that, they haven't used him again, except reprising the Abominable Snowman in the Disney+ series Monsters At Work.
Love this movie. One of my childhood favs. 😄👌
Can't believe it's 17 years old.
It’s amazing how many Pixar classics were created ngl 😌
Okay, i should make joke of it.
Frozone
Location: known
Frozone's suit
Location: Unknown
WHERE'S MY SUPER SUIT??
Helen didn't admire herself, she just notice how large her hips became because of her pregnacies 🤭
What is interesing is the fact than all the family's powers have a symbolic signification :
Bob is the stronger vecause he's the one who provide for the family.
Helen is elastic because as a housewife she need to be everywhere.
Violette is in her teen crisis and didn't have trust in her so she wants to be invisible and her forcefield is for protect herself (symbolize by her hiding behind her hair).
Dash is the hyperactive child who can't stay in place.
Even now, I always wonder how Frozone managed to find his supersuit and go out 🤭
You forgot Jack Jack! His name comes from "Jack of all trades but master of none," because he has so many powers but no control over them. He has more than are illustrated in this first movie, because they didn't have the software to animate all of the ones they scripted for him at the time. He's supposed to represent babies' endless potential.
BTW, Violet is a pun on ultraviolet light, which is invisible to the human eye.
Dash is short for "Dashiell" and means "to go fast." In the French dub, his name is changed to "Rush."
@@aliyahpulido953 no, it's in the french canadian version he's named " Rush " in the french version, he's named " Flèche "
Honestly, bowling seems like about the worst activity Mr. Incredible could do if he's trying to blend in, considering how easily he could toss a supersonic bowling ball.
*What animated film should I check out next?!?*
Lego Batman?? *maybe*
If you were into anime i would have said Violet evergarden(That has a 14 episode series and two movies).
Monster in paris,the croods..the breadwinner(thisone is a sad)
@@akirahatson2593 I could also recommend ,,Ghost in the shell” (The first one) or ,,Barefoot Gen”
The Iron Giant!
All of Miyazaki movies
I actually saw The Incredibles at a special early screening with my family before it’s official release (my first one ever), it was one of the funnest cinematic experiences of my life!
I love how Dash's introduction was literally just plotting out Syndrome's plan at the end in a way. It was an odd parallel, but a nice one.
The music in this movie is iconic
The scene with Dash running on water still gives me chills
I loved the INCREDIBLES the first time I watched this and it still holds up.... for me the INCREDIBLES will not get old . Your reactions and comments added a lot more to enjoy ; for me the INCREDIBLES is a classic . Thanks for another great one Tim.
Yes bro! This is a s tier Pixar film!
Also, NO CAPES!
I just realized that Syndrome’s cape was his downfall since the beginning, with the bomb attaching itself to his cape (lucking out with Mr. Incredible saving him).
"Nobody except Batman"
Green Arrow: "Am I a joke to you?"
Sad fact:
This is the only Pixar movie that didnt include the Legendary Pizza Planet Truck Easter Egg, even thought it did appear in the Movie's sequel, Incredibles 2, video games and the Lego Incredibles game. Unfortunately when the pizza planet truck didnt appear, it breaks the pixar streak or something because of the truck.
Even this movie have the same thoughts as the Watchmen, Brad Bird said that he was inspired by the works of Jim Steranko, who worked on first comic books about ,,Captain America” and ,,The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”
Well the director of this (Brad Bird) also directed Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol!
And the music is also by Michael Giacchino.
"Is he insured by his company?" well seeing how he reacted and how he has to pay for his own accidental damage yes most likely yes seeing how useless Insuricare is lol.
28:55 As Edna says...NO CAPES! Disney has a legend here. The writing was gold! ⭐✨✌️
I don't remember much of this movie since I watched it a long time ago, but i remember really loving the comedy and family dynamics. Really loved this movie. Thanks for the reaction!
Bomb Voyage always gets me hahahaha.
The Incredibles are *INCREDIBLE*
*What are your thoughts on this film?!?*
Easily a 10/10, and I'm usually very critical of movies
Diamond standard of animation 😀. Still holds up well after 17 years
INCREDIBLE!
Fun fact: The Incredibles pokes fun at Marvel and DC. Here’s some examples.
Violet = Invisible Woman (from Fantastic 4)
Dash = The Flash
Elastigirl = Mr. Fantastic (from Fantastic 4)
Frozone = Iceman (from X-Men)
Now you just have to do like we did and wait 12-14 years before you watch the sequel
Deal
@@TimotheeReacts I’m kidding, please do watch the sequel it’s pretty good. Also you should check out Helluva Boss if you haven’t already
28:56 this always unsettles me, how quiet it gets and the only thing you could hear is the turbine engine and syndromes panic.
Probably won't worth a separate video, but the short movie "babysitting Jack-Jack" definitely worth watching.
And if the theme song reminds you the Mission Impossible theme, it's probably because it is done to sounds like 60-70's TV shows themes, which is what Mission was to begin with. The M:I movies just rearranged the original theme, but the base melody came from the 60's.
They also had the orchestra be mostly brass instruments because movies of that genre in the 60's (this movie takes place in 1963) had a lot of brass instruments. They also recorded the soundtrack on analog tapes instead of digitally to give it that somewhat grainy, old-timey feel.
For me, the music in this movie is some of the best soundtracks ever made. Such an amazing and fitting suite of music and still so different to most other soundtracks because of the BigBand and Jazz.
And yes, it is inspired by Mission Impossible and James Bond for the most part but also some more "Super-Hero" Music.
An interesting fact is, that this music is written in 5/4 instead of 4/4 (at least the main theme) and since Mission Impossible 5/4 is pretty much connected to Spy-Movies somehow. Another great example that draws from this would be the Ant-Man Theme which also conveys a Spy-Flavour and is also written in 5/4
11:44 By the way: That's impossible as it was written specifically for this movie 😂
That’s really interesting about the music being in 5/4 because there’s five family members.
Mr incredible: Buddy
Syndrome: My name is not Buddy and it's not incrediboy either that ship has sailed all I wanted was to help you I only wanted to help and what you say to me.
Mr. Incredible: fly home buddy I work alone.
Syndrome: it tore me apart but I've learned important lesson you can't count on anyone especially your Heroes.
Mr incredible: I was wrong to treat you that way I'm sorry
After watching it again as an adult and writer, I've realised something. Syndrome, or rather Buddy, is judged way too harshly by the public itself, which is good, he was made to be like that, and that exactly is what makes him a great, and quite realistic, villain. Let me explain:
True, he took it all to the extreme of madness, but the dissatpointment, losing the huge childhood belief in heroes, in someone you admire deeply, is heartbreaking and hurts terribly. And I think most of us have experienced something similar, call it Santa Clause or knowing Spiderman isn't your neighbour. You can relate, and Mr. Incredible realises his mistake, but it's late, "15 years late". True, he was a young hero, and Incrediboy was a bit too much, but many kids are (and on that note, isn't Dash just as intense, and probably just like his dad was?)! It's so easy for adults to dismiss children not thinking of the pain they may cause, making it something small, forgetting they were kids once, and they did the same. And those are the same thoughts of most of the audience.
That's why Syndrome's final goal makes total sense: make everyone Super, so no one will be (and the fact Dash mentions it earlier is brilliant "we are all super in our own way" "that's another way to say no one is"). He dreamed to become a superhero even though he wasn't born with super powers, but was rejected by his hero. Of course, his actions are wrong and evil and escalate from bad to worse, but his motifs and context are understandable and relatable. That makes him a great villain, or super villain.
I love how this film has such big balls that the first thing we see in the actual film is robbers shooting at police with a automatic rifle.
Him breaking out of the pod in the beginning before fighting the Omnidroid gives me flashbacks to playing the incredibles games many years ago 😂😂 idk why but that very short scene is what I remember specifically
19:44 Don't you mean: That was HELEN close!
There's so much I did not remember from this movie. I'm gonna have some popcorn and watch it all over again. Thanks for another fun reaction!
Any time! Glad you enjoyed the vid!
20:00 what the- damn girl ayo 🤣🤣🤣. That's really weird and funny that elasticgirl showing her butt at the mirror because that would be so funny that she show us that 🤣🤣
Honey! Where is my supersuit?! 😂 Samuel L. Jackson perfect voice for Frozone 😎 Great reaction!
Haven't watched the video yet, but I need to tell you this: in the video reacting to the sequel, before watching the movie I think you should watch the short film "Jack-Jack Attack", it came out with the first movie's DVD, it's canonic and you'll find some references about it during the sequel!!
Such a fan favorite, and still I feel like it is highly underrated. Love love love this movie and the sequel.
Great recation my favorite Pixar movie and one of my all time favorite movies . I have grown to appreciate this movie over the years
Since the two old men at the end cameoed after the Omnidroid was destroyed, they’re more than just caricatures of Walt Disney’s top animators Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston of the Nine Old Men; they are also a fitting tribute to the yesteryears of Walt and director Brad Bird gave that acknowledgment.
probably my favorite Pixar film (Coco is very close)
3:35 "Are you doing anything later?" "I have a previous engagement." LITERALLY. She's engaged to him, and her plans for later is their wedding.
2:30 Brad Bird directed this and Mission Impossible 4
My fav Pixar film, saw this in cinema when I was very young 😂
Buddy: You can be super with out powers
Tim: Nobody except Batman
Green Arrow: You have failed this city
Others: I'm I a joke to you
Tony Stark , Falcon(now Captain America) , Hawkeye and Back Widow have also entered the chat. Lol
Jack-Jack looked turned into an incomplete version of Paimon, the King of Hell. That's why he's so freaking demonic, even Syndrome had the look of pure horror when Jack-Jack was trying to kill him in the sky. 🔥
There are many nods in this film to both Mission Impossible and the James Bond franchise.
I don't know if anybody else has said this but. All the kids' names are related to their superpowers!
Violet:
Ultraviolet Force Fields & Invisibility (Because i think Ultraviolet rays are invisible)
Dashiel (Dash's real name):
Superspeed
Jack-Jack:
A jack of all trades (Cause he has lots of superpowers)
There’s a-lot of great things about this movie, but the thing that stands out to me is the omni-droid. It’s design is functionally and aesthetically pleasing and I wish this self aware robot had more screen time. Maybe in the third movie, the villain watched the battle in this movie and decided to make his own. Or something…
Come on with Land Before Time! You can’t go wrong when Lucas and Spielberg are working together!
Fun fact: Edna (the supersuit designer) voiced by Brad Bird itself :D
18:18 I like how even though Edna said Elastigirl's suit was pretty much indestructible, and Elastigirl herself is superhumanly strong (even if not to Mr. Incredible's extent) and has capabilities beyond a normal human, she's still not immortal or immune to being stunned or knocked out. Her protective bubble may have defended her kids from the damage, flames, and shrapnel from the explosion, but it likely didn't absorb all the shock from it and she passed out briefly.
Extremely weird question, I wonder how easy it was for Elastagirl to have her kids, because I mean, she's flexible right? 🤔
I love Elastigirl andd this taught me to love Holly Hunter as well.
11:00 i mean, EVERY island in the planet is a volcanic island... of course its not an island without a volcano.
Why didn’t you show the scene of “COINcedence? i think NOT!!!!!!!!!!”
Fun fact: Snug was originally in the movie, he was Helen’s pilot and flew the plane ✈️ and he originally died in the explosion 💥, but John Lasseter suggested Helen fly the plane ✈️ herself.
By the way; the plane ✈️ crash 💥 from the movie 🎥 was my favorite scene that had me on the edge of my seat 💺.
Did you know doc Hudson was in the incredibles I saw him
Honeeeey!!!!! Whaaat??!
WHERE'S MY SUPERSUIT??!!!!😂😂😂😂
Most modern day capes are equipped with a quick release collar.
Go get your cape, you nerds.
Mysterio from Far From Home and Syndrome have similar vibes if you think about it
This movie was my childhood
love the reaction and your hair too
1:46
It's like mission impossible, james bond and maybe batman.
Yessss been waiting all week for this
My Dad said that someone from a James Bond or mission impossible movie ( sorry, can't really remember) directed the jet scene. To this day it still makes me jump. It's mine and Dad's favorite scene.
Cool fact originally Lily Tomlin was supposed to voice Edna but the director Brad Bird was never happy with how the voice turned out and told the actress how the voice should sound she said politely "that was great why don't you do the voice" and that is how the voice we all know and love was born and at the wedding look closely all the heroes who died stupidly like Dynaguy and sadly like GazerBeam are there.
I like how uploaded this but you have incredibles 2 on the thumbnail xD, in any case i also like this movie and i hope you soon react to the sequel to this movie:)
One of the best superhero movies of my childhood, long before the Avengers, before Spider-Man, before the X-Men, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the Eternals as of recently, there were the Incredibles! And I loved it very much, the characters, the story, the plot, the music, etc. Definitely worth rewatching, and it's thanks to the Golden and Silver Age of Comics that inspired the movie, mainly the Fantastic Four. It's a long shot but maybe one day, possibly through an animated series, we could get a crossover for the Incredibles and the Avengers or Mutants, the possibilities are endless since both Pixar and Marvel Studios are under the Disney banner!
Something I realised is that they changed Tony's design
Or changed his face in the second movie
And I think he might be played by a different voice actor in the second movie
Syndrome: it's bigger it's badder ladies and gentlemen too much for mr. Incredible it's finally ready you know I went through quite a few super to get worthy to fight you but man it wasn't good enough after you trash the last one I did some major modifications sure it was difficult for you or worth it I mean after all I am your biggest fan
28:56 The Fact that The Turbine Noise blocks out the music, making it(The Turbine) and syndromes struggles the only thing we can hear, makes the death scene more disturbing. It makes it, feel like we are actually watching a person in RL about to be…….
DAHHHLING! This movie was a wonderful experience for me as a child. In my opinion, the sequel is kinda weak, but, then again, what sequels aren't (except for Star Wars, Toy Story, Godfather, etc.)?
Nice reaction! I haven’t seen this movie in quite a while ! And I haven’t checked out the sequel but maybe I will soon! Also, I love how you always have your Funko Pops displayed in the background! 🤗
16:22 And chances are Bob, Helen and Lucius/ Mr Incredible, Elastigirl, Frozone probably knew most of them, if not all of them.
29:53 can’t wait to see you watch the incredibles 2.
Nooo I would have loved to see your reaction to the “got busy” scene when the incredibles got captured
Nobody:…
Tim: omg is this mission impossible???!!!
Fun fact: There was a petition to get former President Obama and Michelle to reenact Frozone's "Where is my supersuit?!" scene.
Can’t wait to see ur reaction to the other film too
And glad you liked it it is one my, grandmother and mother's favourite.
29:51 my favorite villain of all Disney Pixar movie
This is my Favorite Pixar movie😍😍😍🙏
