Thank you for watching!
When I was a teen my mom purchased me a 85 cello rack case. I mean the big one. I can't even remember how many boxes were in this thing. All I remember was I sorted them by teams as I was opening them. The piles were so large that they were reaching that point where the piles were going to tip over. What's crazy was we bought 2 more of the same rack cases that year. I had more 85 topps than you can possibly believe :)
Stunning surfaces and sharp corners, just like being back in 1985-86. I busted a ton of these, a couple of vendor cases and a few rack cases. Factory sets were not mass produced back then. Sets sold well and commons got ravaged every show by those completing sets. Fun times and great memories...Great Video !
He's spitting on the cards
My first complete set ever 1985 topps but started collecting in 1980. When I was 8
I'm moving so I've been relocating my old junk wax card collection and found an 85 Clemens. Mine looks slightly off center like the one in this video. Exciting to know card collecting is still a thing! I'm a local too so I'll keep watching your channel.
No way the McGwire RC at 1:14:04 is a 10. Corners look nice, but nowhere near centered. Look carefully people
Cory Snyder was my guy when I was a kid! For some reason I just hooked onto him and went crazy collecting him. Would love to see one of his Olympic rookies pulled!
Legendary break, best one of '85 Topps I've ever seen (of anyone). Will go down in history. Just imagine if the '78 box is something like this with the key rookies...... Bravo.
Awfully excited there for a $10 off center McGwire rookie
Awfully douchey there for no apparent reason.
I almost had a heart attack when he hit the McGwire (was looking away when you freaked out), PSA 8 at best, nice video.
I like how you get excited like a little kid when you find a rookie card. Fun times 👍🏻
Yeah. Recall kids at Toys R Us going crazy in 1989 seeing rack packs & packs near the registers.
Erik it doesn't get any better than that! So happy you pulled all the rookies and them some. Thanks so much!
great video and pulls, never had McGwire. I'd go 2020 to 1980 kind of going back to the roots of the hobby. I collected cards late 60's to mid 70's. was a card dealer 1988-93, still have over 100k from then. saving them for my two sons, 13 and nine. I hope there is a future need for the hobby. stay safe you and yours's.
This Throwback Thursday showed up in my feed today, and I'm glad it did! This box was amazing 🔥 and the cards looked incredible, nice gloss. I miss the rack pack days! Great video 👍
Mark McGwire 1 in 10 packs , Kirby Puckett 1 in 20 Packs 😂
Pulled a Puckett Rookie and IMMEDIATELY SPIT on it and proceed to OneTouch...spit and all...bottom right corner of Puckett card, and you can see it hit the split second he yelled Puckett. Feel for the owner.
Gotta wear a mask. We'll know why.
I mean even though you’re right. Crap happens man. This guy does a lot out of his own time giving us cool content to watch. I think he deserves a slide. Some things just aren’t worth bringing up 👍.
Stinking Awesome box tho, right? Take care guys 👋
Just came across this video, love the nostalgia! Brings back some great collecting memories as a kid!
Blow right past the Eric Davis. Always loved that rookie card.
same
Liked that one along with Dwight Gooden, Kirby Puckett, Roger Clemens and Mark McGwire rookie cards
Awesome break as always Erik!!! There is a 30 for 30 that was out many years ago called Jordan Rides the Bus that covered his whole time in the minors and his reasons for going to baseball and why he went back to basketball. Well worth watching.
Sweetest Jordan BB is the UD '91.
I didn't start collecting until 86 but these rack packs bring back memories for sure!
This is the kind of hype we need!!!
Enjoy watching your videos, I am learning alot
I started collecting again 1 year ago, one of my first purchases was the 85 Topps Kirby Puckett, followed by an 89 Topps Griffey.
Very nice box. I always see it a split second before you do and I immediately go for the volume button so I don't go deaf lol
Good stuff again Jabs! My throwback Thursday winning streak has come to an end! haha, looking forward to getting all the cards. Cheers!
Eric Davis RC's were the Bomb!!!
36:30
49:31 Roger Clemens RC. This the 1st time I seen someone pull this one!
Very fun break to watch. I love this set.
fantastic break Erik. i don't suppose you are going to sort them to see how close to a full set that box was. but as i was watching i was thinking that i would love to know how close it is to a set considering that you got pretty much all the big rookies. great to see some cards i collected when they were new and some i never did have. might have to try to get my hands on some of that when this covid crap is in the past.
interesting how you aren't excited about the eric davis rookie but super excited about the kirby puckett. Davis had a higher career ops+. By just one but still.
Wow! Crisp, Sharp cards!! Awesome!!
I remember summer of 85 pulling McGuire USA cards and organizing by teams in one of the card lockers, I just bought a card locker just like it for the memories
Did u know Julio Franco turned 50 during his last MLB run with the @braves! Amazing, he could still crush at 50!
Beautiful. Hear the krinkle. A mint showing is heaven. Ultimate? Ozzie Smith 10.
brings back memories.
topps had a great run of good looking cards of 1983,1984,1985 and then they messed up with 1986 but made up for it with 1987
wow what a HOT BOX is RIGHT!!!! 2 Clemens 2 McGwire and a Puckett
Yeah. Legit box. BBCE passed.
Good box
Not only are the cards in wonderful condition, they're (almost entirely) perfectly centered! I can't remember seeing any (off center) while you were "gingerly" going through. Very nice & congrats!
Great Break!
Talking about Bonds, Bonilla & Van Slyke leaving... that was pretty heartbreaking for Pirates fan. I can sympathize... day 1 Mariners fan and was crushed when we lost The Big Unit, Junior and ARod!
wow, that was just fun AF. thanks again JABS
1:13:19 Wow! Mark McGuire RC pull. My favourite card in this set!
How many John Wathans are we going to find in this pack Jabs during the 1981 Donruss Box
Nice rip. '85 was a nice year for Topps. Hard card to find centered.
While you were telling the story of the blown foul ball, you got a Larry andersen, who pitched that ball
wow what a rack pack #21 for wayne a McGwire and Puckett rookies both awesome cards
Wow I was born this year and about 7 days away from today crazy.
Never mind them 84 allstar cards fooled me. I was a year old then when these came out.
Great video!!
1:15:01 Kirby Puckett RC pull. A legendary HOF
I guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account??
I somehow forgot the password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Turner Brentley Instablaster =)
IMO the junk wax era did not begin till 87...just my thoughts. I would still classify 1985 cards prior to that time.
They were $1.09 for a rack pack and on a secondary note I had 6 full pages of Mark McGuire 85 cards I was an avid fan and collector of Mark I watched him come up through the Modesto A's team as a kid imagine being able to see Big Mac eat and drink for under 20 bucks.! Plus Mark was one of the nicest most humble guys at the time.
I wonder why Topps decided to picture all four sports on the box top when it's only baseball that's inside.
Crazy to think that Eric Davis and Doc Gooden are barely sleeveable. They were elite players for years before drugs/injuries caught up.
Yeah. '84 was insane for Gooden.
Love that Kirby Puckett and mark McGwire and that rogers Clemons rookie card
That 85 Moore card was very first vintage card back in 88 lol
That was a great box. A few possible gem mint 10
Doesn't get any better.
Funky but love-in
Johnny Grubb was my high school baseball coach lol
30:13 in... somewhere on Earth Tommy Dunbar weeps.
Who?? lol
He had a short big league career of three years with the Rangers. Is from sc
If there wouldn't have been a strike in '94 it would have been interesting to see what Jordan did for that 1995 season. He played in that AFL the year and hit .252.
Dude donated $20 after the McGwire PSA 7 was pulled, could have taken that $20 and bought 2 similar quality McGwire raw's on eBay!
Nice cards
Do I remember rookie of the year..love that movie
I only have two PSA 8’s of 1985 McGuires, I’m ready to crack one to resubmit for the hell if it
Also, for the 40 years break in Saturday, start with 2020 and go back to 1980.
13 is the one
That was fun
1999 season was the last at Tiger Stadium
Did you figure out which card identifies a Gooden pack? My friends and I used to know bank in '85
HOT box!
$1300 Clemens wow
The people who said that mark mcguire was a psa 7 obviously do not own many psa 7s. It was very flawed but it was easily an 8 minimum. Not that it matters with that card
Imagine all the suckers that bought McGuire rc In late 90's. Lol
ding on the bottom left of the mcguire rookie
It's great watching you do the older cards, but I just wish you'd spend more time talking about the cards you are going through.
BBCE FASC is primo product
It was Lenny Randle who blew the ball foul.
Jesse Barfield

Why are these boxes so expensive???
36:30 and 49:30 enjoy!
I have a psa 9 Mark McGwire rookie
Clicking on super chats no longer takes u to you tube channel.
go 2020 and work back it will be back to 1981 that makes 40 years
What's the beef between Phill and Jabs? I watch both channels and I guess I missed it. Did Phil say something derogatory?
Phil said this on Twitter: "Is Jabs Family really the pinnacle of card opening UA-cam? Opening $20 boxes sounding like he’s underwater on an airplane mic."
@@montrealsports29 thanks. Not sure that was necessary. Jabs is the 80-90s era kid in us all that loved this hobby when we really barely understood it, revisiting as an adult and appreciating it for what it was as well as what it is. He's the Everyman collector. Phil, while I do like his channel, seems to miss that with his "VIP only" parties and thousand dollar box pulls. Easy to rip the average Joe for ripping something we all remember and could afford collecting as kids when you can throw indiscreet amounts of money at the hobby. Think Phil might do well just staying in his lane...
Glad I wasnt wearing headphones watching this when the MM rookie showed up
Can I get that box? haha
I'd pay maybe 2 bucks for that case. Useless
id tefer gooden and pucket over the roid guys
Anybody know Jabs email?
Noice

Hey let’s get to it.u talking to much.
It's his show. Just like Johnny Carson would remind critics.
Buddy there’s a fast forward and rewind. You have the power :)
