Clear picture of what the responsibilities of everyone is within the business. Sharing this with my new EA to help prepare the bigger picture of what's expected and what our end goal is. Brian, I really appreciate you posting this video. Your videos are always informative, however, this one is a simple gem of information communicated is such a way that is not too detailed, but just detailed enough.

This opened my eyes to really see how much a TC and Administrative Assistant is really worth and their value to the Team. This is key, then the Lead agent should compensate them well for their expertise in this area. I've noticed that Agents don't want to pay well for these positions....well think again. ;)

Looking at taking a leap of faith! Quiting my secure administrator job with the state to assist my husband. Hoping he can grow more successful as an agent with me as his assistant!

My broker does ALL of that except the actual marketing....and he's KILLING it. Don't tell me he doesn't have time and isn't being successful. Hey these things are nice, but a bit overkill for a single person. My agents take care of their own schedules. That IS their job.

I'm in a 2nd tear position like this in a owner/developer brokerage with 11 agents in our resales office (there is a new sales division as well of course that we also do some admin duties for with another 8 agents) then there is the property management side of the business that I, and another co-worker) help support. NO. Most people have NO idea how much the admin-support side does and how little they are compensated for it compared to how much they actually do, and let's be honest here, NONE OF THE AGENT'S CARE and it's conveyed to them during the brokerage interview process they don't need to give the admin team a second thought really, or a first one for that matter. You do have decent people who happen to become agents who do see the office staff as an valued asset and human, but that's pretty rare. In the mind of most agents the lowly office staff is there to serve them, the agents, and nothing more. There are a lot of sucky things about this. You don't only need thick skin to be in the sales side of this business. Remember you're dealing with sales people's egos here and every one of those 11 sales people sees you as being "their" assistant who is responsible for all those things even though you actually are working for the house. To help the whole brokerage move along smoothly, not just any one agent, but the agents only see themselves and their principal so the demands are high and since they are sales people generating business for the brokerage and expecting top service form the brokerage while attempting to do so any kind of acknowledgement or appreciation of the support the admin offers is very, very little to nonexistent. Infact, from my experience you get a whole lot of s*** for a whole lot of nothing. I recently got my license and a few of the agents have been kind and supportive about it. Others, not so much. Especially since I noe have a licenses of my own at risk should they try to pressure me in to doing anything I shouldn't just to make their life easier by allowing them to shirk it off or lay it on outside parties (AKA..us) I'm talking about direct agent required duties and obligations here not the other items. All of the kind of nonsense a lazy or unscrupulous personality type might try to pass off. Quality assurance is part of some assistants job description and I hold true to it, always have, but now more than ever and I don't budge on it. Some people hate it and think I habe a lot of nerve not just doing whatever. Let me put it plain. It's not my deal. Not my commission. I won't be getting anything out of that transaction at all beyond my pretty meager hourly wage, so WHY would I risk my own future earning potential for that? What kind of person expects you to without question? I think I'll be getting out of the position soon, or, if I want more indepth involvement maybe I'll move on to working with a single agent, smaller team or another brokerage that has a more beneficial set up to me while I get associated with actual selling on the side. I totally understand that real estate is a tough business with all kinds of personalities out there and burning bridges is no good and all that and I'll carry in accordingly but let me tell you the assistant is a VERY though position to do and do very, very well, as this man mentions for a long period of time. If you get in with the wrong brokerage you will get treated as absolute trash everyday while making a portion of what you're worth just so the one's that treat you like trash can keep rolling in THEIR commission checks. Integrity and appreciation for support are 2 things I plan on taking with me anywhere I go.

Hello Brian, I just found this video! What would be the average salary for an administrative assistant if she has 4 years experience doing absolutely everything you describe except for generating leads?

May I ask a vital question? I'm a graduate from a LAA crash course, with a 4-week study in conveyancing, which includes several case studies. Is this enough to equip me for such a role, or should I really take a real estate course?

This is very helpful and has helped me get my head strait. I am now looking to replace a great assistant that got an offer she could not refuse. This will help me make good decisions on who to hire.

Is there much of a difference between an administrative assistant and a marketing assistant.
I assume that a marketing assistant is the one generating leads then passing that onto the agent, and that's where the administrative assistant comes into play. Is that a correct assumption?
