someone needs to make a law on that. Along the lines of life endangerment, as ads could be considered invasive and allowing such a capability would be dangerous as anyone could data bomb you and cause an actual explosion, thus turning your brain to mush.
They'll skip the entire advertising mumbo and inject intrusive thoughts on what "you" need to buy next.

Like control an Exoskeleton hands free. This takes you from quadraplegic to almost moving normally in one surgery. Remote wireless control of tools will be very useful in almost every workplace too. Neuralink has infinite uses and the independence it will give to humanity is a level of independence without precedence. I really hope to see this at full potential before I die.

This could be resolved by having a hybrid tissue that can interface between electronics and human tissue.
This was sort of the plot of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Adam Jensen ("I never asked for this") had DNA/genetics that allowed him to adapt to prosthetics more easily than most people.
Genetic engineering and DNA profiling would allow us to interface with electronics more easily with more, "natural" connections and prevent the electrodes from receding.

Nice, he's playing civ vi. Good to see he's got his priorities straight.
We're living in an episode of black mirror 🤯 mind blo... linked
he should be a streamer fr fr. could get hecca viewership!
The problem is getting information INTO the brain. We can pick up data from the brain all day, but I will really be impressed when they manage to implant information.
My (potentially wrong) layman understanding is that nobody's expecting legit Data I/O in my lifetime, but there's *some* feedback we can do because we know how specific parts of the brain work. Like how theres tech in development that can give blind people sight like they're looking through a 1970s security camera, it might not be that hard to stimulate certain centers for touch in order to allow people to "feel" feedback on devices.
I dunno, I'm a computer toucher, I don't know crap
Yeah, then how long before they start streaming ads right to the brain?
It is pretty wild that we live in a time where people feel like pulling info from the brain is no big deal. I don't disagree with you. It's like SpaceX landing rockets. It's wild they can do it but they do it so easily now it's just expected they do it every time now.
You can only do simple inputs at the moment:
Pain, pleasure, etc. To do memory implants would require nano bots 10 trillion of them, we would need blue print for your brain patterns to decode and re-code thoughts.

Elon gets a lot of hate, but he is clearly making a massive contribution to humanity. This is inspiring and a phenomenal achievement.
Dude, this technology is over 10 yrs old and was done by a different company. There are less intrusive methods that achieve the same and better results that dont require implants. Theres also a dark side to this technology with its future applications, and its history of harm to animals in testing. Monkeys chewed their fingers off, for example. This is like starting a new electric vehicle company and telling everyone your the first to do it.
I agree!
At the end of the day he is just a man and from what I have seen he is a good leader!
Wonder what the Long-Term Contribution will be. When Humans are fully integrated with robots so he can fulfill his plan to colonize. Too bad Humans will be a thing of the past.
He gets a lot of hate because he's a greedy cunt who has no idea what he's doing.
Nah get your brain hacked bozo
Go Noland, you the man.

Let me get my brain on it 😮
Please do not resist!
So one thing i want to mention is the missing data points leading to a change in algorithm that then reached the same level of connectivity that was originally in place with more data points. This makes me curious what this new algorithm can do on a unit that has all these points still in place. For me, feels lke it might be a much greater leap than where he originally started from
it would be neat if they could eventually get to the point where they can do with 3-4 wires what they originally had to do with the amount theyre currently using
Imagine Pro Koreans in StarCraft 2 playing it like this.
"I'm beating my friends in games that as a quadriplegic I should not be beating them in"
Should just tell them skill issue.

This is incredible and I am so happy for Nolan. To imagine he basically had to shut parts of himself down because he wasn't physically capable to do many things. Boredom and anxiety would be high unless you learned to cope and just be used to doing less, just with your thoughts. But now able to interact with the world, he can practically do anything online and his quality of life went from the worst I can imagine to very positive. Keep it up Nolan, your work in this will only improve the capabilities for others. You are a hero.
