First up: This album is on fire!
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable.
My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us.
There are still many things I don't know. For example, why are all three titles in French. 😉 (And why are there 3 Damis with 7 shadows...)
Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. We lost Leez as a producer, but the team around Ollounder did a fantastic job! And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy!
I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the whole team all deserve a raise!

Other than Ollounder, the other producers are relatively new to making music for Dreamcatcher. We first saw Maddox in the credits for the Dystopia : Lose Myself album. I believe I first saw either Peperoni or Oliv or both in the credits for Apocalypse : Save Us.
They’re mostly here to fill the gap left behind by LEEZ who was Dreamcatcher’s main producer alongside Ollounder since their debut. For years, it was just this duo making their songs. LEEZ won’t be working with Dreamcatcher for awhile because he signed an exclusive contract with another company. Losing LEEZ is rather bittersweet because a lot of InSomnia considered him to be another Dreamcatcher member. I do love his work even outside of Dreamcatcher, so I’ll keep an eye out for his future endeavors.
Although the other producers are rather new to making music for Dreamcatcher, they’re not new to making music with Ollounder (and LEEZ for that matter). This group of producers work together in a producing team called Eden-ary. Eden-ary is headed by Eden and make music for ATEEZ. Because ATEEZ and Dreamcatcher share producers (and now even more than before), I like to call them cousins. I hope we can get a DreamTEEZ collab some day.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Ollounder started with Dreamcatcher first right before moving to work with Ateez?
@@Mint52353 Both LEEZ and Ollounder started with Dreamcatcher first because Dreamcatcher debuted first.
@@nerasomnia Thanks.. I didn't listen to early DC, so wasn't sure. They did find success faster with a similar sound with a boy group, which kinda makes sense I guess
this comeback of theirs is very reminiscent of j-rock to me. more so than other title tracks of theirs. i think its the layering of the instruments the slap bass and those crashes in the chorus
edit: also i think this is my favorite comeback of theirs since BEcause

This has become my favorite comeback from them, everything about it hits perfectly for me. The emotion, the way they ended this era's storyline, that production + vocals!!!! It feels amazing to see their growth and to stan talented women lol

Yay a great reaction! This new album is one of their best! All the songs are wonderful. Bon Voyage has very quickly become one of my favourite DC title tracks.
And yes the members are totally all rounders. Sua the main dancer can hit whistle notes, her vocal is insane. Yoohyeon has gotten better and better with her dance, she really does stand out! At it was Jiu on the pre-chorus both times (sounding like an absolute angel!) 😊
i love that even when you own that dreamcatcher usually isn't for you, you speak about them and what they do with such respect

Yes, Ollounder has been one of Dreamcatcher songwriters/producers since they debuted I believe. This is the first album I think where the other original producer, Leez, is not participating.
Ooooo ok, maybe he should stay away Jdhshshs no I’m kidding. I need to check out their other bsides before passing judgement.

With Leez leaving, we've seen more and more of them coming to join Ollounder

@@Koko3op the actual intro for this mini album is the best one in the trilogy imho.
Their B-sides are so great too.
Also they do have two full-length albums, The first one being "Dystopia: the tree of language" released back in 2020, tittle track being "Scream" and b-sides like "Red Sun" which I think you have heard. The second one being "Apocalypse: Save Us" released last year, tittle track being "Maison".

The Pre-chorus and chorus is so anime intro of them and I absolitely love it. The angelic, stripped down vocals that leads into a rock chorus with power vocals is very Dreamcatcher and this is probably one of my fav tt from them. I've been waiting for this because Maison and Vision were good, they just weren't really my taste, and I missed Dreamcatcher 😭❤ I need to listen to the whole album because this song is a hit for me and i hope they get another win cuz they deserve it🫶🏻 (edit: idk what it is about the prechorus but the melody is so pretty with JiU and Yoohyeon/SuA's vocals. I cant get over it😭) (15:44 it's JiU)

im laughing first and foremost, because you made same mistake as i did when i showed the album to my friend. he pointed it out, i was like "what are you talking about?" and i looked n i was so confident that i was right, but yeah, it's not. hahaha.
The composition of Bon Voyage is very beautiful. it is vocal heavy compared to previous titles. but it really matches well with the heavy instrumentals. it sounds beauitful and sad, but it is also touching and empowering. Glad you like it despite your unfondness to the symbals (my pet-peeve is the drum slap like in their song Diamond, but i still like it nontheless).

I love this album, but you watched the wrong intro😂this was the one for their 2nd full album (MAISON). They have so many now it's a bit confusing🙈

you should wear headphones for reactions. laptop speakers for first listens will not allow you to really pick out stuff in the mixing . or your audience
I don’t use laptop speakers it’s actually a boom speaker with a wide range of dynamic sound. If you listen to my reactions with earphones or a good speaker you’ll hear all the details also.
