yes i remember buying the cassette album lol and than it would spool off lol and you had to rewind the bloody thing lol this was my era when music was real
It's so inspiring to see two young American people appreciate ABBA. I am a middle-aged Swedish man who grew up when ABBA had its heyday. Back then I thought they were ok but it is after their reunion I notice their real greatness. I noticed how much they represent the Swedish mentality. Anni-Frid, Benny, Björn and Agneta's personalities are like a symbol of the Swedish mentality - so much talent but also with blackness and melancholy. ABBA is such a good representative of us Swedes on the one hand liberal and open but on the other hand shy deep and melancholy at the same time. Go ABBA GO!
I don't think anyone's mentioned him but the engineer Tretow found a way to blend their voices like this. Eventually they gave him a share of royalties by the late 70s.
He is the one that gave Frida the biggest compliment a singer can ever get from a sound recording engineer..In an interview (UA-cam) he was talking about Frida's balanced, full, warm timbre... He called her voice "hi-fi" (high-fidelity). ABBA: Bright Lights Dark Shadows The Real Story of ABBA By Carl Magnus Palm I'm this book Benny, Bjorn and Michael Tretow ABBA's engineer considered Frida a master vocalist as well as her peers.
There’s that one line that ALWAYS gets me… “Sometimes when I’m lonely, I sit and think about him, and it hurts to remember all the good times, when I thought I couldn’t live without him” Everyone’s been there.
ABBA is undoubtedly one of the best groups of all time! Thank you, Tyler and Marissa for doing the reaction video. You are a very sweet couple and I wish you the best!
Hanging out with my friends in the car listening to new songs…. How I miss those bonding times. Enjoy this era of your lives to the fullest. The memories will comfort you for life.
"KISSES OF FIRE" is another fave great album track. If you ever do this, the video is from "ABBA IN Switzerland".Agnetha's 40secs solo intro is seductive and icebirg-melting.
@@ingvarjensen1088Well It was spring of 1979 and i was still in primary school when this Switzerland tv-Special was broadcasted. When this song dropped i got hooked watching Agnetha's beauutiful close up facial expressions while she was almost whispering the songs first words looking at me straight in the eyes.Fell madly in love ha!ha!Still feel goosebumps!

I used to work for Atlantic Records and have met the Members of ABBA many many times. Interesting stories for sure. Very Savvy business people. Very interesting and beautiful people.
Talking about harmonies and production, the chorus in Lay All Your Love On Me will give you spine tingles. So good. Still amazes me how much they care about every little detail in a song. No matter how many times you listen to them, they'll keep surprising you. Always nice to see you both. I'm not sure Marisa knows her name comes from a combination of two Spanish names :María and Luisa. It was common some decades ago in Spain and Latin America to name the children (boys and girls) with María (Virgin Mary) as first or middle name. Then, to make it shorter, people would call Marisa the girls named María Luisa. 😉
They are going to go crazy with Lay All Your Love On Me for sure! Going on a little off-topic with you haha: Also a lot of girls named María Isabel would be called Marisa :)
I highly recommend: 'When I Kissed The Teacher', 'I Do I Do I Do I Do I Do', 'Mamma Mia' 'Ring Ring', 'Waterloo', 'Take A Chance On Me', 'Lay All Your Love On Me' - All of these were massive hits. Really enjoying these reactions!
No! Lay all your love on me was a single only in UK, so, it wasn't a big hit. Elsewhere, it's only a track album. Even the same for When I kissed the teacher.
When I kissed the teacher wasn't released as a single but should have been. I like it far better than money money money. Back in the day when only 3 singles per album.
As always I love your reactions of Abba! It's fun for an oldie like me who was young when this was released to see the appriciations of a new generation loving it as much as me!!❤❤
As a child/teenager I always used to take the dog for walk along the river Chess (incidentally, later, a Benny/Bjorn musical) and every time I heard “I was taking a walk along the river” I thought ‘Yeah! That’s me, now!”
I’m 46 and grew up with ABBA, it’s so heartwarming to see younger generations enjoying what we loved way back when. You next reaction should be ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’ !!❤
I love how much you guys love ABBA, and Tyler's sheer joy listening to them is a pleasure to watch. ABBA were masters of pure pop gems like this, but I am a real fan of their darker stuff. You guys have commented on their story telling before....can I suggest you listen to 'Like An Angel Passing Through My Room', a stripped back and chilling lullaby from 1981's 'The Visitors'? It is the other end of the spectrum to 'Angeleyes'. They took a long time to get to the right treatment of the song....the bonus track 'From a twinkling star to a passing angel' blends some of these, including disco and pop treatments. As good as some of these are, in the end, they threw them all out and went with a minimalist approach, exactly as the haunting lyrics and Frida's breathtaking vocals deserve. There are so many hidden gems, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one.
One of my top 3 ABBA songs. I would also recommend you That's Me, Lay All Your Love On Me, Summer Night City, Kisses Of Fire, Bang-A-Boomerang. Lots of love!
Abba-time,this is a meeting point for many of us.That was a top 3 hit from the shiny disco-is No1 lp"VOULEZ VOUS?"which originally gave 4 top-3UK hits,1 top 5 plus 2 more stoundout uk top 3hit singles around this period that were later incuded on it's cd full edition"Summernight-city"/"Gimme!gimme!gimme!".Total 7 top HITS.But you still keep missing the most requested album track by us the fantastic"IF IT WASN'T FOR THE NIGHTS".The song that Abba finally dismissed from being a single for the shake of "CHIQUITITA" but also a huge fans fave.
Hi Guys, another great reaction video to ABBA😀 This was released here in the UK as a double A side along with Voulez-Vous in 1979, though this didn't get as much airplay I thought this was equally as good💕 Loving your energy when you do these reaction videos💥😎 Keep up the good work. 💖🇬🇧😷
This is one of my ABBA faves. They make a perfect pop song yet the music and storytelling is always so complex. You should try find them performing “Kisses of Fire”.
This is one of my favorite songs from their Voulez-Vous album. I believe that from beginning to end, it's their best album. The next song of theirs I'd like you to react to is "Soldiers" from their final album. Altogether different kind of lyrics from them.
You hit the note. I love how you dissect the music: the chord progressions; the instruments; the vocal lines, harmonies, melody, lyrics; the sweet bass. Keep it coming.
You reacted to Angeleyes the way that I did. I would like to recommend listening to “Andante Andante” and “Kisses of Fire” for these super songs will hit you in the same way!
This is one of my favorite songs, I just love the melodies and the harmonies and lyrics and the production is just fantastic. Voulez Vous is their most "dancey" album, it's just bop after bop but also has some more emotional sweet songs. I heard Angeleyes is just one word because another song by the same name was released around the same time so they changed it to not confuse people, but also in Swedish we would write it as one word so that could also be why. I love seeing people my age enjoying ABBA, your reactions make me so happy!
I haven’t heard this song in thirty years or more. It’s still excellent. 🙂 You must see Abba (live at Wembley1979) “The Way Old Friends Do”. It could bring a tear to a glass eye. Thanks from Ireland ☘️ 🙏🏻
this is one of my favorites from ABBA, throws me back to my childhood! I was way too young to know how the chord structures worked, but remember telling my mom that it made me feel happy & sad at the same time. I'm still chasing that in music I write to this day.
I can tell you guys really enjoy ABBA. Voulez-vous is a great album. You should react to “that’s me”,”lay all your love on me”,among many others. Your reactions to ABBA are priceless.
You seriously need to react to the voulez vous album version of “if it wasn’t for the nights” wow what a floor filler… and it was originally going to be the main lead single from voulez vous before Chiquitita came along for the year of the child 1979
Oh youre so young. So nice to see youre reactions. I grew up in Scandinavia with all of ABBA's music.....it's in my system....all of it. And it's still the very best music of all times....
I used to teach pop music to 16-18 year olds. This is the first song I'd use as an example of composition analysis. Or was it 'One Of Us' LOL - I forget.
Your ABBA reaction videos are so sweet and genuine! Try to react to some of ABBA´s earlier songs - for example "Gonna sing you my lovesong" from the Waterloo album from 1974! Or their first single ever as a group "People need love" from 1972! Or "Dance - while the music sstill goes on" from the "ABBA" album from 1975! They are all real gems!
I think you'll really love Kisses of fire by ABBA or When I kissed the teacher by ABBA based on this reaction :)) Still waiting on "Lay all your love on me" by ABBA however ;) Or the ABBA video with their song "So Long" with the title "made for export by Sweden" after it which shows of some super energetic dance moves. Or the super theatrical, enchanting and beautiful "I let the music speak" by ABBA, or perhaps the beautifully happiest of tunes called "Thank You for the music" by ABBA that just makes you wish to grin and agree as you watch Agnetha smile joyfully whilst singing it. Anywho there's far far more great tunes than that to discover by ABBA and I'm just impatient for all of it :p Enjoy!
Hello! You listen to Abba's wonderful song Angel Eyes and thought about how long time the song is ? The answer is 4:21 minutes. Quite a long time to be an Abba song. But it would have been twice as long if I had to decide ❤️🎵🎶 Have a good times folks 🙋
I always loved this song, but I enjoy it even more now. The angelic harmonies and melody.... Amazing keyboard/synths. Like Ricardo said; every little detail!
Great reaction once again! Really enjoyed going on this ABBA journey along with you guys these past few months. Next up…Lay All Your Love on Me, or If it wasn’t for the nights?
Only just re-discovered this Abba song, and though not a big hit, it's one of my favourites It seems simple, but it's so catchy As you said the layering, sound of the keys and the voices sound beautiful I love to see the smiles on your faces and the way U move your heads when U listen So glad U are discovering and liking ABBA, they were and are amazing ❤
high simply for being high is not always great... tbh, I found that the guys often pushed both women's voices to the max... in Agnetha's case, because her voice is higher naturally than Frida's, at her max it sounds, to me, shrill. That shriek in Hole in Your Soul, and the one at the end of Tiger, ruins the song.
One of my favourites. Great lyrics and a really catchy melody. You’re right, ABBA just don’t miss. Every song is brilliant in its own way. Pls pls pls can you react to I’ve Been Waiting For You. This is my absolute favourite ABBA song …you’re missing out guys, it’s brilliant 😊
I think the reason that this song as a one word title "Angeleyes" is that the two word title "Angel Eyes" was used in the same year (1979) by a UK band called Roxy Music.
It's funny that you should say yea6r building a seasonal playlist because there's a UA-cam channel Bobby's brother that does a lot of Abba content and he did a video regarding Abba's albums showing how they each represent seasons of the year starting from the first one all the way up to the most recent Voyage it was a very interesting and kind of true feeling video check it out
In the history of popular music there is no other blend of two voices as good incredible vocals harmonies unison.
I love watching people that are one third my age react to Abba and be filled with as much joy as I am.

This! Very much this. You only have to listen to The Visitors to see how dark they can get.
I'm a fan of ABBA when I was 8 years old year 2008
I'm from Brazil, I'm 18 years old and I've loved ABBA since I was 11 years old
Yes!!! The harmonies from Agnetha and Frida never disappoint! Their voices are ANGELIC ❤️ My favourite band for all time. Iconic!
The vocal blend is incredible from Faltskog and Lyngstad it will never be matched! Its like a choir very beautiful.
I heard this first years ago in a grocery store. I found the speaker and stood under it till the song finished.
At one time, I would’ve thought that strange. But that was before I heard the entire Abba Gold album played in the background of a Tex-Mex restaurant.

They actually blend together as well live.
For story telling their late song "Cassandra" is pretty excellent - about the heroine of the Greek myth - and bits of it are in 6/8 :-)
If It Wasn’t for the Nights, Angeleyes and As Good As New, 3 FINE songs from the Voulez Vous album.
And Kisses of fire too
There’s that one line that ALWAYS gets me…
“Sometimes when I’m lonely, I sit and think about him, and it hurts to remember all the good times, when I thought I couldn’t live without him”
Everyone’s been there.
They always add a line to their poignant songs to get us.... I have noticed it in a number of songs
I've listened to this song for years, and I'm always amazed at how insanely good the harmonies in the chorus are
Look into the angeleyes of Agnetha and you will pay the price.
Love this so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's great to watch you discover music that we older generations have listened to for years.
Every song on their Voulez Vous album is a bop.. Next react to Lay All your love on me. The ultimate abba dance floor filler.
please react to abba = THATS ME . FANTASTIC SONG

The initial looks of shock on your faces the first 30s of song realizing it's awesomeness is priceless!
Go listen to The Czars cover version of Angeleyes - it lays bare the sadness that is somewhat disguised by ABBA's cheerful sounding arrangement.
I always loved this song, but I enjoy it even more now. The angelic harmonies and melody.... Amazing keyboard/synths. Like Ricardo said; every little detail!
ABBA tried a lot of infuences in order to do very different style of songs. This reminds me of Italian Disco songs.
@Marvin Quezada Agree.
The words probably came easy since they lived it with each other!
Great reaction once again! Really enjoyed going on this ABBA journey along with you guys these past few months. Next up…Lay All Your Love on Me, or If it wasn’t for the nights?
Only just re-discovered this Abba song, and though not a big hit, it's one of my favourites
It seems simple, but it's so catchy
As you said the layering, sound of the keys and the voices sound beautiful
I love to see the smiles on your faces and the way U move your heads when U listen
So glad U are discovering and liking ABBA, they were and are amazing ❤
Our Last Summer is another incredible ABBA song
React to "hole in your soul" agnetha really goes high in this song.
Tyler has already reacted to Hole. You'll find it if you search.
@@terrykemp1876 They haven't seen the live version of it though - that's a whole nother experience!
high simply for being high is not always great... tbh, I found that the guys often pushed both women's voices to the max... in Agnetha's case, because her voice is higher naturally than Frida's, at her max it sounds, to me, shrill. That shriek in Hole in Your Soul, and the one at the end of Tiger, ruins the song.
@TylerCreatesContent Try AS GOOD AS NEW from the same album and THAT'S ME (probably the best produced song they ever made)!
I recommend “Lay All Your Love on Me” and “I Am The City.”
I think this is one of the most complex ABBA songs.
Try "Under Attack"..hell of a hook!
Don’t even get me started on the Voulez Vous album! As Good as New is their kickoff song and it’s meteoric!

You 2 were born in the wrong decade. I was alive when ABBA was that peak. I am blessed for that!
