With all of the mysteries surrounding Subject X, and considering how much the KH# Secret Reports talked about her, we have to believe that our answers are right around the corner!

You should do a video on Nomura’s comment about how “the Union Leaders’ presence will be felt in KH3.” Now that we know where Strelitzia is, it leaves us to wonder what Brain’s presence was 🤔
Luxu carries the memories of every vessel he has ever been in. This is how Xehanort and Eraqus are able to remember Brain's quote about Darkness in Union Cross times during the Wonderland segment of Dark Road.
Bragi was standing near them and they could unconsciously sense it. So Brain is "present" in Xigbar, even if he isn't physically there.
Was he just referencing the final cutscenes?
I can't think of any other part of the game where they are felt tbh.. which is a bit sad.
I may be wrong, but I think remembering an interview where Nomura said Xehanort's mother was a relative of Skuld. Which explained the ressemblance.
He did mention it in an interview! I would have brought it up but honestly, Mama Xehanorts appearence says it all imo lol.
I actually think Ava and Skuld are related.
In Union Cross, at least two scenes draw parallels between Ava and Skuld. For one, Gula tells Skuld that she and Ava are very similar, and then the first thing Brain says to Skuld is, “You’re the serious one. Like Master Ava.” Followed by Ven proclaiming, “I thought you seemed familiar.”
I don’t think it’s an accident that they’ve been paralleled. Add to that Xigbar’s insistence that Ava carried out her mission, and her faith in the Player character, leads me to believe that Ava is Xehanort’s mother and recognized Player’s heart in the Blue Robed figure when the time came to surrender her child to him.
Ava also had a copy of the Book of Prophecies, so she would understand the importance of bringing about the Child of Destiny, and that they need to hail from the Isles of Destiny. Technically, Xehanort can’t be the Child of Destiny (IMO) because he wasn’t BORN on Destiny Islands, therefore he doesn’t fit the requirements on a technicality. Ava would know this, but because she has a history of seeming to go along with the Master’s plan but then changing some detail to try to subvert him, I think this would’ve been an attempt to do that.
So yeah, I don’t think Xehanort’s mother is Skuld or a descendant of Skuld; I think Skuld and Ava are related (maybe siblings? Cousins? Lmao watch it turn out that the Master is their father and they were separated at birth or something else crazy like that 😂) and just don’t know it.
It’s an interesting theory, though. Subject X has grown up, now, though, as evidenced by the “even all these years later” comment. It’s been 10 years since Lea and Isa found her, so she’ll be 25, 26 if it’s been a year since Sora disappeared. I’m excited for the future!
There is one problem with Xehanort's mom being skuld's decendant and that is the fact that young Xehanort in KH Dream Drop Distance said that in order for anyone to time travel, there has to be a version of you at the destination in the past. So skuld couldn't be the ancestor of Xehanort's mom and person X.
Well, if Subject X is Subject Cross, (Double Cross) then if your theory is correct, Subject X helped create the bloodline that would birth Xehanort (Backstabbing Cain) who creates the 13 Traitorous Keys that house the Darkness who made the X-Blade. So, Subject X creates the Chosen Dark Vessels indirectly.
Further, as I said before, Subject X indirectly created Ansem, Seeker of Darkness by making Apprentice Xehanort subconsciously hunt "the women who looks like his mother, the one the Player knows." Ansem, Seeker of Darkness then uses time travel plus the Power of Waking to make Everything up to Dream Drop Distance destined to happen, thus guaranteeing Sora and Riku's existence and ensuring Luxu sees they are the Child of Destiny.
Just as the Master of Masters scripted.

@@momod3086 In Kingdom Hearts, everything is connected to everything else, even if it isn't apparent immediately.
In kingdom Hearts X has multiple meanings, its the recusant sigil, its also Chi/Key its the X in a nobodies name, RoXas, AXel, Xemnas, well you get the idea in all honesty I think its more likely the X comes from LuXu than Xehanort which itself is an anagram of X-Chi/Key & Another or Another Chi/Key. Luxu even said at one point I'm already half Xehanort but every time I hear that line it just feels more like Luxu saying he IS half of Xehanort...
@@TheFixer_1 But you see, in order make the X(Key) to Kingdom Hearts, you need Betrayers(Traitors) to be Dark Vessels and become pieces of the Key. Even Xigbar created a Key for Xehanort, though he didn't physically die.
And The Master of Masters who scripted this whole process like a Book, knows this.
It is like crafting a Magic Spell, but with physical people/Characters.
And because The Master has already seen the script before making it, it is entirely possible The Master saw Xehanort first, then gave Luxu the X to insure Xehanort would have it.
Xehanort will be a Dark Vessel so The Master gives Luxu, his Dark Vessel the X, too.
@@Fragmentsinfractals488 maybe, but the Book of Prophecies is a Destiny Trap which Traps everybody within what it details. A Destiny Trap is Nigh impossible to escape from because you can't change events your already apart of the book made sure EVERYBODY was apart of the events to come right up to the point where Light will expire and darkness will rule for ever more. EVERYTHING was in the book all the events played out like they were supposed to. But there is a way out of a Destiny Trap and only 1 way! You need to be both in and outside of the trap this is why Sora was able to escape and beat the Destiny Trap. He was both in and outside the trap at the same time.
I think you hit the nail on the head with Skuld being Subject X and being sent to the Past so Xehanort can’t reach and compromise the World Order. We’ll see for sure in Kingdom Hearts Missing Link.
I believe that Skul is project x but I think that Xehanort's mother is rather linked to Ava whose appearance we do not know and who has disappeared for the moment, as for Skuld she corresponds perfectly to the description given by Lea and she are in a place close to Kairi which comforts me in the idea that she is also linked to Xion who resembles her a little too much for someone created solely from Kairi and Sora.
Awesome Video :) Always Thinking That Subject X Is The Nameless Star And We Don't Know How She Looks Or Her Name, Thinking It Can Be Her And Then Luxu Hide Her In Quadratum Where She Found Refuge But Then Got Her Own Form Taken Away And Then Now Is In The Final World (Also Kinda Makes Me Think That The Godmother Knows More To The Nameless Star Since She Knows She Can't Go Back To Her World In Quadratum Knowing That They Will Take Her Form) Don't Know Who's "They" But Still Makes Sense Thinking Maybe Luxu Will Take Her And Use The Power He Can Get From Her :) But That's Just My Theory On Subject X :)
I think Subject X being sent back in time isn’t what happened because it gives her a happy ending. KH doesn’t do happy endings like that. I think Ephemer repopulates the world using Replicas, and reasonably made a replica of Skuld. Since they are indistinguishable to the real thing because of Vexen’s research, normal birds and the bees reproduction would be possible.
By the report Subject X says she still is no closer to finding out who or what she is. The time span of this report’s existence is from before KH1 through KH3 so it’s really hard to say where she really is. And what she is, is another question all together. I do think however if she is no longer around, that she lives on through Xion.
If only Nomura and Square Enix would release more KH games to answer any of these questions. Feel like they’ve been stringing us along for so long, starting more new plot lines than giving us closure for.
While it is an interesting theory that Luxu already sent her back in time, I have one big issue with it, it’s really bad storytelling. If they wanted Skuld to be both Subject X and Xehanort’s ancestor, they have the mystery completely out of order. To introduce her mystery and then immediately make it impossible for Axel and Saïx to have any resolution for it would be pretty disappointing.
With your theory, the way it would have to play out is roughly: we’re introduced to Skuld, we’re introduced to mysterious subject X, we see Xehanort’s mom looks like Skuld (this one can be placed anywhere before this), we find Subject X/Skuld, Skuld plays a part in the present, then Skuld is sent back in time to be Xehanort’s ancestor.
Something like that brings mystery, gives Skuld agency in the main story, and can bring an emotional resolution.
Edit: I didn’t watch the stream yet, but is it possible that Skuld we see in Scala is the data backup of Skuld? Maybe Brain was successful in restoring everyone? Or she was pulled out of Ephemer’s Book of Prophecies somehow?

I actually think youre right to an extent, that none of this works without Isa, Lea, and Skuld being reunited. Which is why even though i think her being sent back in time makes sense, i cant help but feel like she ended up in Unreality one way or another.
So maybe, she gets sent to unreality prompting a reunion between herself, isa, and lea. And then from there she gets sent back in time
@@TheLandiLodge that would definitely make the most sense. Either unreality or, if it was Luxu that took her, modern day Skala. Where better place to hide a person than in what we assume is an abandoned world?
Its simply, shes not subject X meaning that she is Xehanorts mother but shes not the one that appeared at radiant garden ( ava, namelesss star, somebody not mentioned yet). Very easy analysis
I think you forgot about Ephemer being xehanorts ancestor
I think Subject X is actually Strelitzia, or at least a version of her. If Luxu sending "the true dandelion" to the future was something MoM instructed of him, in my mind it makes sense because he knows that Luxu would be present in RG and would be able to free her from captivity. Also, Lauriam was supposedly focusing on his sister when he activated the lifeboat. If Strelitzia (or some version of her) was present as Subject X, it could account for his arrival in the time period.
As for Skuld, I think the most obvious answer is the right one: she traveled to a point in Scala Ad Caelum's original version and eventually had a blood line that led to Xehanort.
Great vid Landi! If Subject X is an unknown character it would be cool if she was connected to MoM before he got apprentices. He told Luxu he had friends growing up that he lost. Maybe those are the four friends Subject X remembers 🤷🏼♀️
Gonna be honest, I really feel like time travel has really derailed the story of Kingdom Hearts. I was 100% on board with the story until DDD, where I felt like it really jumped the shark with its time travel shenanigans. So I really hope this theory is wrong, even though it is a solid theory. 😅
I always been wondering where Luxu hid Subject X aka Skuld. The secret report 1 said a guy with a eyepatch which is Luxu took her from the cell and it not mention where she is now. I wonder why Luxu took her, is it for a reason or something else?
I also think that Skuld is most likely Subject X, but let's pretend that she isn't.
After Union X she landed somewhere earlier in time (Missing Link could confirm this) and that's why she's Xehanort's great grandmother or something.
Then who is Subject X? Ava! And she "didn't make it here after all" in KH3's post credit scene, becouse Luxu "hid" her to Quadratum, like you proposed as another option for time travel here.
At this point Subject X will be the key to everything, it truly is a mystery.
While I do respect your opinion on Skuld being project X. It feels really minor to just have Skuld be Project X to meet with Lea&Isa and then go back to the past. I feel like the importance of Project X would be much more than that. Plus, Mama Xehanort resembles Skuld a lot to even have her son say that Skuld looks like her. That’s clearly a family connection.
So yeah I don’t think Skuld is going to be Project X and maybe Missing Link will reveal what happened to Skuld? Would be fitting with her being the Missing Link and explain why the Player was entrusted Xehanort.
Subjiect X is critical for Apprentice Xehanort becoming Ansem, Seeker of Darkness. Specifically, if Subject X is Skuld, she would trigger Apprentice Xehanort's latent memories of his mother. And Ansem, Seeker of Darkness is the one who time travels and gets Young Xehanort off Destiny Islands.
If Xehanort doesn't meet "Skuld", he won't experiment on himself. If he doesn't experiment on himself, he won't become Ansem SOD. If he doesn't become the Seeker of Darkness, he won't be able to go back in Time, and open the Dark Portal for Young Xehanort. And Timeline will be destroyed.
Thus, Subject X looking like his Mother is critical.
I think another reality is one idea, but I'm of the opinion that Subject X is a new character. Probably someone from the Union X era that survived one way or another and they are still alive. They were looking for someone they thought they knew, what if they simply disguised themselves. Someone helped her escape and she went underground. Who knows, she may have had a child.
If Subject X is a whole new character that would be mind blowing
Usually, the only reason an important character is talked about, but not shown, is because if you saw them, you would clock who they are immediately. See True Organization thirteen and the big black Cloaks.
Either that, or they are like the Player, and therefore don't look like anyone in particular. We know this isn't the case with Subject X.
@@Fragmentsinfractals488 I don't think they are [Player], I am slowly beginning to think Subject X is either Riku or Sora's mom. Even in those cases, I believe Subject X is original.
@@KewlImp That is possible. It is just you can't do the Kingdom Heart plot twist where the person re contextualizes everything about the Series unless this Subject X was someone you already know. Like Luxu.
Because of that twist, suddenly everything Braig and Xigbar say is *incredibly fascinating.*
So, the twist of that kind only works if the the person has been around for awhile saying things as foreshadowed clues.
@@Fragmentsinfractals488 I see it more like 'Knock at the Cabin'. You have a director known for these grand twists, and then you do something without a twist. It comes off as more unexpected and shocking to the players.
What if Subject X was the one that gave birth to the Recusant’s Sigil !! I know it’s highly unlikely but that would be too on the nose lol
I think it is likely something just like that. Subject X was the last research before apprentice Xehanort found out how to make Nobodies and when Luxu took her Xehanort just did the experiment in himself.
I'm starting to have strong doubts that Subject X is Skuld at all. It's extremely suspicious that at the end of Union X, we didn't get a scene showing where Skuld ends up. Everyone else who time traveled got a scene showing where/when they arrive including Brain, Ven, Lauriam, Elrena and Maleficent. Critically, we don't even see Skuld's pod leave either, it's buried by rubble as the ceiling collapses alongside Ephemer's pod. Ephemer notably also didn't make it out of the world, the rubble caused his pod to fail and he was instead set adrift at sea as the world collapses. Eventually, the pod opens and he starts building Scala ad Caelum.
It seems plausible that since her pod also gets covered, Skuld was also stranded in the world as well. Though i'm not sure she actually helped Ephemer rebuild. She isn't given a memorial statue, which would be extremely odd and offensive if she was essentially the matriarch of that civilization. The other possibility however is that her pod remained buried and was never discovered or opened. Perhaps the characters in Missing Link will find her if this is the case. To note an interesting detail about Xehanort's mother, she does look a lot like Skuld, except for eye color. Skuld's eyes are a dark amber/brown, whereas Xehanort's mom has pale grayish-purple eyes. Brain's eye color is pretty close to that. If Skuld shows up in ML, Brain is also present in that time. I've sort of been wondering if she and Brain will end up together, and that Xehanort's mother is their kid or something. That said, Brain is theorized to be an ancestor of Eraqus. And Player does not even bring up Brain in relation to Xehanort's family. So perhaps not.
The other candidate for Subject X is Ava. She's clearly the youngest of the Foretellers due to her extremely short stature and general youthful appearance and behavior. If she was 15, she'd be extraordinarily young for a master, but at the same time I wouldn't put it past the MoM to do something like that. He created child armies to fight and die in a war, some of whom were preteens (Ven is like 11 years old during UX). Despite her seniority, Ava also seemed to befriend and bond with the younger wielders and enjoyed chatting with them. The "four friends" could refer to Ira, Aced, Invi and Gula, since they're the characters she associated with most often. Luxu seemingly kept to himself a lot later on and also disappeared for several years before the war. The other four Foretellers also considered her a friend, with Gula questioning why she was absent at their reunion. Luxu gave cryptic comments about her absence, hinting that he knew why she wasn't there. Ava is who i'm currently thinking is Subject X, unless she's a new character yet to be revealed.
That seems just as likely as Skuld if the video holds any weight. I'm down for either.

Luxu been stalking Xehanort since he was a kid. Did Xehanort ever reveal that he knew luxu was body hoping and spying on him.

Here's my theory what if xehanort mother is skuld hear me out after union x she went to radiant garden with no memory after that luxu took her away and remember the pods are in the castle so maybe luxu put her in one of the pods and sent her back in time to then mother xehanort. Which is why Lea and Isa didn't see her ever again.
I think that he hid her in a heart because Xeanort wouldn't be able to find her in a heart like Kairi's.

@@TheLandiLodge That's the issue. I did, but I went with it when it was released, not all at the same time. This was supposed to be one of the last things, and... I didn't catch it watching the scenes. I heard he said it in an interview and it made no sense at all :c
@@leonoliveira8652 There's a post credits scene with the Blue Robed figure and Xehanort as a little kid camping out on Destiny Islands. The Blue Robed figure explicitly states they're the Player. The reason Xehanort has access to Player's memories is because Xehanort is an empath who can connect with and see into other people's hearts. The same way Sora can (Baldr is also stated to be one as well). Xehanort was accessing Player's memories. We do know that Xehanort is a direct descendant of Ephemer. Skuld also seems to be a relation of Xehanort's as well.
Chronologically, the first time we heard Skull in kingdom hearts, was that when dinner was ready.

Nomura stated outright in an interview that she is a relative of Skuld (something Dark Road already implied in dialog with Xehanort mentioning his mom looks like her). It's supposed to be explained in Missing Link.

@@drdca8263 He said they are related, and that this will be elaborated upon in Missing Link. A major plot point of that game being "bloodlines".
