Listen, I'ma keep it real with you: this cover is unlikely to appear on stores because The Pokemon Company for some reason does not want to make their OSTs available on stores and platforms, meaning license acquisition is nearly impossible for cover. If you want this cover on Spotify, then go yell at Nintendo and TPC - There is nothing else I can do about this issue.

To fight the will of someone long since dead, and When even an AI of you thinks you are completely off your rocker.
The thing I like is that their copy is an exact copy, they have the same memories and personality. So it’s them with hindsight fighting against a past version of themselves with no Foresight. It’s future fighting the past. They had time to stew on what they just did and said “boy we screwed up bad”
@@Broomer52 id say lusamine was also a pretty good plot twist in sun and moon, it just gets downplayed since they tried to immediately do it again but worse this rose. Lusamines plot twist just wasnt a sudden shock, it was a nice slow revelation over time.
the most undertale style plot twist ever
@@hunbi1875 honestly it was done better in ultra sun/moon
@@mdg456 I respectfully disagree -- although I think overall USUM is the better game to play because of how much more content it has, having Lusamine not actually go insane and force Lillie to stand up to her kinda kills Lillie's plot arc, which is a darn shame.
Locking everyone's pokeballs but your own is something no evil boss has ever done in Pokemon games. They left the protagonists defenseless, which I think was truly terrifying.
If we didn't have miraidons pokeball I straight up think the paradise protection protocol would have taken out 4 kids and no one would have known where we were.
The scariest part of this is that all the power and technology down there is supplied by the terastal crystals, what the HECK tier of power do these crystals have where it can full on lock pokeballs, tear through reality to bring paradoxical pokemon to where they shouldn't be, and power an entire AI robot, all at the same time?
And apparently a third legend is tied to them, which is even scarier.
@@rabbitbeargaming2441 Yeah for once the stakes felt flipped. Normally in pokemon you're fighting with ridiculous concepts and apocalypses like Groundon/Kyoger, Genocide/mass destruction, but we all know that you can try as many times as you want. In S/V the stakes are ecological devastation via invasive species, which is bad, but would be manageable, I think. You obviously have multiple attempts here, it is a game, so you will win. But it /felt/ like if you failed the world would manage, but you'd die right there. The AIs(whatever we're calling the villain?) were THREATENING.
@@claran3616 facts!
..and i still managed to icicle crash and max revive my way through. turo needs a buff tbh.
This endgame twist was AWESOME. And also DEVASTATING for poor Arven.
Pokemon having actually shocking plot twists, who would have guessed?
It’s been that way for a while but they just struggled with in in main line games. Legends had a pretty good twist, don’t get me started on Mystery Dungeon, I’m glad they’re bringing that energy to main line games
honestly, scarlet and violet are just something the mainline games have needed for years (ignore the bugs, its an indie studio), the games imo (oh no an opinion) are the best games the series have ever done, and its a definitive step in the right direction, and i cant wait to see them keep this kinda energy in future gens and even the dlc for scarlet and violet
it’s looks like they’re just rushing games, I’ve heard that they just leaked about pokemon black and white remake when they didn’t even finished to patch scarlet and violet… idk what to think I hope I’m wrong
@@nrrr2662 ah yes, gen 5 remakes leaks, remember those 5 years that people were making up fake leaks about a gen 4 remake. Yeah. That.
@@nrrr2662 i believe that we will get some patches over the course of scarlet and violets life cycle, tho sadly i wouldve prefered that the game released with none of the bugs, but gonna be honest here, i actually never saw any myself, just saw the reports
Having Toby Fox write some of the music for this game was one of the best decisions Game Freak has ever made
your words are smarter than a nerd
^ this. Anybody who is still on copium saying the Wally battle theme in ORAS is good doesn't understand how music works. Toby smacked this song on Game Freaks table and said "I'm the captain now"
@@drdandalf I agree but I think Wally's theme is just okay. It definitely could've been great if it wasn't just a 30 second loop that sounds like a glorified trainer encounter theme.
@@Sacred_Sword The irony that you say that, considering the battle theme is actually based on his encounter theme
@@MariOmor1 I didn't mean to say "that sounds like" but instead "that's literally just a" in my previous reply.
Just because it's based on his encounter theme doesn't mean it should only remix his encounter theme. It makes sense that it did but it should've been different in some ways to resemble his character growth.
You know what I think proves these are some of the best stories in pokemon? In this fight, after you beat them the first time and Arven runs in, EVERY person I've seen letsplay has said something along the lines of "Oh no Arven" some even said something like "great, I've gotta tell him" or " I don't want to deal with this."
They were RESPONDING to his character and the plot. That NEVER happens, ESPECIALLY in pokemon, people are to dismissive of the characters. But they and I were so invested it just happened.
Fr real I was actually getting emotional at the end, that hasn't happened to me with Pokemon since BW
@@KinglyRed I know right!?
XD
I was actually crying when Arven appeared to see that all this time his real dad has been dead and the reason Arven never saw his dad for most of his life made sense.
@@duskdash2546 It made me emotional too. Was tearing up and wanted to give him a big hug! ;w;
The first time Pokemon decided to make the professor a villain they did a goddamn masterful job at it. The Protocol AI fight is one of the best fights in the whole series.
I low-key have wanted the professor to be the secret villain for so long. I’m not certain this is how I wanted it to go, but I loved how it was done regardless so I am happy.
I would say the real professors were the villains, not the AI versions
@@intergalactic92 it makes me remember all those rumors about Professor Oak being secretly evil or Imposter Oak and all that from way back when.
I wish I could say the same about the game’s performance itself lol
@@teenageapple3788quit acting like the game runs like shit…
"Please, defeat me."
So the whole Penny storyline, that part I found pretty obvious right from the start but this twist had the perfect level of subtle hints that something was up, while also making you think 'no way is that what they did'.
Say what you want about the bugs and performance issues, but the story and music of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are god tier.
That 5% with the ending is the best ending so far. But the rest of the game with the designs sucked. The performance issues and bugs still add to Gamefreak being lazy.
It's not a bad game, but it could've been god tier if they actually cared about the game.
At least that's my take on how it came off.
Which the music isn't bugged and playing the same 5 second loop over and over again.
Everything is just held back by bugs and performance issues, the gameplay is actually really fun.
@@TheIGITnBLUE people saying they didn't care are being silly, you don't do this kind of game without caring
The game's glitches and performance suck because executives didn't care to give the devs enough time or people to make an actually finished game, but you can tell the devs did care
If we're being honest, I really wouldn't say that the "story" is good. The only decent "story" part is the tiny bit at the end in Area Zero, during the game itself there is almost no narrative or competent build up to speak of. They foreshadow some stuff but it's bare and quickly brushed over for more Pokemon tropes.
Admittedly endearing yet overall irrelevant events just happen in a repetitive fashion over the course of the game and that's the "story", with only Arven's story being loosely connected to the ending. I say loosely because while he as a character is hugely connected, his actual in-game mini-plot consists of "fix dog" and that's it, almost nothing to do with the ending and doesn't set it up like you would think it would at all. It's actually jarring how little the whole "fucking time monsters obviously exist" thing is brought up with him when he clearly knows about it, I would have thought it was kind of important and it would have been nice to build up Area Zero and it's true nature more but they basically don't at all and save it all for it to be stuffed into the ending. Then there's Team Star, which is a cute but laughably simple story that has basically nothing to do with anything, then the Gym challenge has literally nothing going on at all except "get badge" with the now uncontested worst champion in the series as the cherry on top. No overarching narrative to speak of, shit just happens in random fashion.
While the characters are mostly okay, they aren't threaded together in a satisfying way at all, and when the three rivals come together at the end it feels super random and forced. They have no chemistry and have nothing to do with one another, yet they focus on them and their dialogue for the first chunk of the Area Zero part for some reason and it just drags it down. Then they are all unceremoniously "off-screened" when the plot gets bored of them all being there so you can go fight the final boss alone even though at least Arven being there with you would have made it more interesting and meaningful. They stuff the entire robot professor story into the last bit and it feels out of nowhere and wasted with barely any build up or narrative connection.
In short, the game has nice characters and cool concepts, but fails miserably at actually telling a story. A lot of really cool and interesting ideas and themes are completely underutilized. You just do a bunch of irrelevant busy work and then some shit happens at the end I guess and you as a player have minimum investment and just want it over with to get back to playing Pokemon. That's just how it feels, not like a woven together narrative with twists and turns that keeps you hooked and immersed like a story should, especially in an RPG. It's actually worse than the stories in Sun and Moon and Black and White in this regard, they succeeded in a lot of ways Scarlet and Violet fail.
The part at 1:13 literally sends some chills down my spine. Absolutely the best part of the song, and the way it sounds kinda like an electronic alarm is so very fitting for the circumstances.
read this right as i got there… yep.

Holy shet man so true. haha
GOD SAME BRUH HOLY SHIT I LOVED IT
Can't stop replaying it gives serious blaring red alarm high octane time crunch
What a banging cover, love the "scary" feeling it has. Also video effects are very cool and appropriate
❤❤
That’s just Rich Terastalized just for this cover
PokeDoom
I mean that's what happens when the original theme is by Toby Fox :)
After hearing the whole thing, it’s fun, packed with flair and gave me as much of a thrill as the actual theme. So sad you only hear it right at the very end of the game 😭 AHHH It’s so good! Toby Fox’d it.
Do what I do and use it as the BGM in ranked battles. 😅
@@KRussell16635 my boy knows whats up 😂😂😂😂
"Toby Fox'd it" lmao YES
Not gonna lie, Sada's team was the scariest thing I've fought in a pokemon game in a long time, and this does a great job at capturing the terror I felt fighting them.
Honestly I thought sword and shield was so easy but since i didn't grind levels between bosses and decided not to use potions I ended up being like ten levels behind and this fight was incredibly hype and difficult for once .
Difficulty in a pokemon game is like, unheard of .
I had a feeling you would vibe with this track, this came out super sick dude!
The fact you go 2 rounds with the AI of Arven's parent... and second time around you built so much trust with the 1st Koraidon/Miraidon that came thru the machine that you use them to fight the very aggressive one... it's like a redemption battle for the Koraidon/Miraidon just adds the cherry on top. You executed this cover perfectly! Keep at it!!
This was one I was hoping you'd do after Penny. One of the best twists, endings and fights of any Pokémon game, period.
The music is neat too.
I had forgotten that Toby Fox has been making music for Pokemon now, but here its so obviously one of his compositions lol
Bro, I thought it was just a joke on how similar the tracks sound to Toby Fox. Thus was so surprising to me when I found out it was true 😭😭😭
The theme on its own is already a banger, but with the context is so much more. You feel so much more when this theme plays. Thank you Rich for another banger cover! And another thanks for making being of the first people to cover this theme :)
One of the most intense and amazing final boss themes I've ever seen. Got chills from this that I haven't gotten since Final Fantasy 10's theme "Challenge" which sounds like I'm killing some unknowable God. Though I suppose this boss has more in common with Final Fantasy 10's final battle against "Sin"...
I love the distortion effect you did, replicating the eerie reflections that you get from the Tera Crystals during Tera Raids.
"You will not stand in my way" intensifies
AI Sada sent out Savage Metal!
AI Turo sent out Iron Shredder!
Underappreciated comment. Take my like
Ooh, those are great names for paradox pokemon. I feel like those would be good for ancient Steelix and future Haxorus respectively.
This song fits your style quite a lot huh
Awesome cover, well done my guy
Well by now he has some practice covering compositions by Toby Fox lol.
I was so into this part I forgot to consider how much of an absolute banger this song is, and your cover is amazing
bruh. i was legit shocked when i found out the truth about the professors. now, true fans know the pokemon world isnt all rainbow and sunshine but to pull that PLOT TWIST with professors was so something
And on top of that, throwing a battle that neither side wants to have but has to have in order to save the world at you is absolutely amazing
Love it you truly captured the fight to the finish vibes the original gave off perfectly
Awesome cover but I really want to highlight the video. Rachel knocked it out the park with this video. It's soooooooooo good and fits the theme PERFECTLY.
🙏 thank ya!
This song was meant to reach your hands, amazing job on all the melodies. You and Rachel are killing it! :)
Oh boy, you blew me out of the water with this cover! The original track was incredible and this adds a more frenetic and explosive flair to it.
Let me tell you I got FULL BODY CHILLS. This track is incredible on its own but you bring in a whole new layer of intensity and emotion that is unmatched. Hats off to you once again Rich.
Scarlet and Violet have been an absolute blast, even in spite of all of the bugs. Thanks for the cover, I greatly look forward to some Team Star covers, if those are on the menu. :)
I've to absolutely agree there. They're great games that got overshadowed by the bugs. Hopefully they'll get fixed eventually. And I can't wait for him to cover other music too from this game because it has a lot of great tunes.
This is amazing. The intensity gives me some old school battle Pokémon theme vibes. The part of the whammy bar lick is so sick and fit it perfectly. I need to get on this and make my on Pokémon Scarlet & Violet cover. Rock on
Truly a fitting theme for the Gigachad with a team full of Iron Pokémon.
Not to take away from Sada or anything, it’s just that the metal pun was right there.
honestly the text glitching into Paradise Protection Protocol in the 2nd round was somewhat spooky
0:44 wrenched my soul out of my body
I actually stopped fighting and just listened to the song during the fight
The cover I've been waiting for since completing Pokemon S&V. Thank you so much for covering this banger of a track.
The best comment I ever saw on this boss fight that encapsulates the whole True End of this game “when did Pokémon become SMT?”
This sounds so cool! I haven't made it this far in the game yet, but I can't wait to get there, haha
The video editing was amazing, but I think the best part was how spooky and energetic it sounds! Been a while since I got that vibe from a Pokemon song. This one's definitely going to the playlist!
We need a Sada/ Turo game or episode in the anime showing what happened... Hell more Arven too. Their storyline was the best one
YESSSS!! !! Your pokemon covers have always been among my faves and this one does NOT disappoint! The riffs, the movement, everything is just as amazing as always! What a fun fight this was in the story and thanks for bringing it even more life!
honestly, ive been waitin for this since i heard the theme in my playthrough, this theme is fucking god tier in the game and even as a metal cover its fucking better, i love it
This might be my favorite video game cover song I've ever heard. From anyone or any game, number 1 right here. Completely fantastic 👍
I was anticipating Scarlet and Violet covers and hoo boy did you fulfill my expectations. I really liked that you kept a lot of the individual parts if the song distinct while adapted to guitar, it works pretty well for a lot of the song
The voices in my head motivating me despite the fact that I’m being sweeped by an Iron Bundle of all things:
This theme gave me so much chills hearing it, in-game! Great cover, dude!!
Man, hearing this cover makes me feel I can't wait to hear your take on so many good soundtracks from this gen. Team star grunt, Penny theme, Elite four theme. The list goes on. Great work as always Rich
I was hoping you’d cover this one. ❤
hell yes, ive been obsessed with those whole soundtrack for weeks now lol; this is a great rendition
This is honestly way better then I thought it was gonna be. I've only beaten the game once so far so I'm not super familiar with the theme. But I can't help but feel I will be disappointed when I get there again and this version isn't playing in the background. Amazing job.
Raw as hell. 10/10.
This is my favorite theme from S/V and this is definitely my favorite cover of it. You did it absolute justice, the arrangement is faithful and yet on top adds onto the original in a way that enhances and elevates the experience. Great work!
Love the crystal intro and visual effects. Amazing cover of a banger song.
Always love a good metal cover of a Toby Fox song.

Yo that fade in is EVERYTHING to me rn
That hunters mark! 🤩 what an absolute banger! 🤌
This is a whole new level of awesome. Dammnnnn that was good!
@RichaadEB.. Won't accept. Faker
This was a awesome final boss, this cover is also fire I hope it gets a spotify release soon!
i really wanna hear ur take on the team star battle theme. epic as always
Especially the boss theme, it begs for a metal cover, even more than the grunt theme which I also want covered eventually.

itll happen
I found this to be the best moment a pokemon game has given me. True, Arceus final fight was also cool but I think it doesn't compare. The music is superior, the effects are superior, and it felt all way more personal and deadly
Also I'm weak for glitching effects
1:12
I like the danger and rage of that section
This is absolutely horrifying and I love it.
As a subscriber and fellow musician, I love your stuff. Please hear our cries. We need a Penny's Theme. 🙏
This is absolutely great! I'm also thinking of a Djent version.

As soon as the guitar fades in you know it's gonna be good. Nice job as always!

holy hell. this is so good, and I am not usually into this kind of music. should probably try to remedy that.

Great cover. Too bad there does not seem to be a way to get the song as mp3 or flac.
This should be their Rematch Theme, cause it sounds awesome
Hey man, just subbed you from your collaborations with Dr Pez. I gotta say, your solos were on point in R/S/E medley cover as well as the recent D/P/P covers.
Love your work, keep it up! :)
Been waiting for a metal cover of this track, you killed it!
Dude… i JUST came back from the Battle against a true hero video cover you did. The level of growth you have displayed both from an arrangement perspective and a technique perspective is just out of this world. Earned a sub for sure and keep up the amazing work!!!!

I hope that we get a future DLC where we get to take on both Professors on at once in a double battle, perhaps in the form of alternate versions of the AIs who decide to create an "endless now" by combining their plans into one. They would each use level 80+ versions of their respective Paradox Pokemon, followed by a double battle against a level 100 Koraidon and a level 100 Miraidon, possibly with the following movesets:
Koraidon - Collision Course, Wild Charge, Dragon Claw, Iron Head
Miraidon - Electro Drift, Flash Cannon, Dragon Pulse, Solar Beam
With these sets, they would not only cover their weaknesses, but work with each other's abilities. Koraidon setting up Sun would enable Miraidon to use 1-turn Solar Beams, while Miraidon setting up Electric Terrain would power up Koraidon's Wild Charge. These moves, in turn, would deal with any pesky Flying and Ground-types that would threaten them as well. Iron Head and Flash Cannon, being Steel-type would cover their weaknesses to Fairy-type attacks. Everything else would probably just fall to their STAB attacks thanks to their overwhelming power.
And what would be more is that they could be EV-trained - possibly +Speed natures and heavy Speed investment to outspeed their two likeliest counters in Flutter Mane and Iron Bundle.
I’m still reeling that in a song that Toby Fox made for Pokémon he used a melody that he wrote for his rock opera about Homestuck mpreg
(For those that don’t know it’s called “I’m having a baby and the baby is you” you can look it up on UA-cam and the melody plays near the end of the musical I’m sure there is a time stamp in the comments)
@@honey3762 i did a little voice work on "The Baby Is 2" which is a fan sequel to The Baby Is You and it opens with that melody too, the number of comments we got in 2019 with people thinking it was the actual Toby song used in Pokemon was hilarious
