If we're being honest, I really wouldn't say that the "story" is good. The only decent "story" part is the tiny bit at the end in Area Zero, during the game itself there is almost no narrative or competent build up to speak of. They foreshadow some stuff but it's bare and quickly brushed over for more Pokemon tropes. Admittedly endearing yet overall irrelevant events just happen in a repetitive fashion over the course of the game and that's the "story", with only Arven's story being loosely connected to the ending. I say loosely because while he as a character is hugely connected, his actual in-game mini-plot consists of "fix dog" and that's it, almost nothing to do with the ending and doesn't set it up like you would think it would at all. It's actually jarring how little the whole "fucking time monsters obviously exist" thing is brought up with him when he clearly knows about it, I would have thought it was kind of important and it would have been nice to build up Area Zero and it's true nature more but they basically don't at all and save it all for it to be stuffed into the ending. Then there's Team Star, which is a cute but laughably simple story that has basically nothing to do with anything, then the Gym challenge has literally nothing going on at all except "get badge" with the now uncontested worst champion in the series as the cherry on top. No overarching narrative to speak of, shit just happens in random fashion. While the characters are mostly okay, they aren't threaded together in a satisfying way at all, and when the three rivals come together at the end it feels super random and forced. They have no chemistry and have nothing to do with one another, yet they focus on them and their dialogue for the first chunk of the Area Zero part for some reason and it just drags it down. Then they are all unceremoniously "off-screened" when the plot gets bored of them all being there so you can go fight the final boss alone even though at least Arven being there with you would have made it more interesting and meaningful. They stuff the entire robot professor story into the last bit and it feels out of nowhere and wasted with barely any build up or narrative connection. In short, the game has nice characters and cool concepts, but fails miserably at actually telling a story. A lot of really cool and interesting ideas and themes are completely underutilized. You just do a bunch of irrelevant busy work and then some shit happens at the end I guess and you as a player have minimum investment and just want it over with to get back to playing Pokemon. That's just how it feels, not like a woven together narrative with twists and turns that keeps you hooked and immersed like a story should, especially in an RPG. It's actually worse than the stories in Sun and Moon and Black and White in this regard, they succeeded in a lot of ways Scarlet and Violet fail.
The fact you go 2 rounds with the AI of Arven's parent... and second time around you built so much trust with the 1st Koraidon/Miraidon that came thru the machine that you use them to fight the very aggressive one... it's like a redemption battle for the Koraidon/Miraidon just adds the cherry on top. Truly a fitting theme for the Gigachad with a team full of Iron Pokémon.
Not to take away from Sada or anything, it’s just that the metal pun was right there.
Considering they're both robots then I would assume a metal pun could be made for both of them
The cover I've been waiting for since completing Pokemon S&V. Thank you so much for covering this banger of a track.
As soon as the guitar fades in you know it's gonna be good. Nice job as always!
YESSSS!! !! Your pokemon covers have always been among my faves and this one does NOT disappoint! The riffs, the movement, everything is just as amazing as always! What a fun fight this was in the story and thanks for bringing it even more life!
0:44 wrenched my soul out of my body
This is honestly way better then I thought it was gonna be. I've only beaten the game once so far so I'm not super familiar with the theme. But I can't help but feel I will be disappointed when I get there again and this version isn't playing in the background. Amazing job.
Love the crystal intro and visual effects. Amazing cover of a banger song.
I was anticipating Scarlet and Violet covers and hoo boy did you fulfill my expectations. I really liked that you kept a lot of the individual parts if the song distinct while adapted to guitar, it works pretty well for a lot of the song
Definitely feel like you've captured a different sense of desperation with this song and I absolutely love it. Wish I could hear your version when I replay haha
This might be my favorite video game cover song I've ever heard. From anyone or any game, number 1 right here. Completely fantastic 👍
This is my favorite theme from S/V and this is definitely my favorite cover of it. You did it absolute justice, the arrangement is faithful and yet on top adds onto the original in a way that enhances and elevates the experience. Great work!
The best comment I ever saw on this boss fight that encapsulates the whole True End of this game “when did Pokémon become SMT?”
I feel like this may be more Persona than SMT but yeah, similar.
1:12
I like the danger and rage of that section
This was a awesome final boss, this cover is also fire I hope it gets a spotify release soon!
Professor Sada & Professor Turo : Bad Parenting 101
This sounds so cool! I haven't made it this far in the game yet, but I can't wait to get there, haha
The video editing was amazing, but I think the best part was how spooky and energetic it sounds! Been a while since I got that vibe from a Pokemon song. This one's definitely going to the playlist!
So, when you did reach that part, what did you think?
@@BJGvideos My goodness, it did not disappoint. Not that the competition's been steep, but this has been the best Switch Pokemon game so far to me. I still prefer the DS/3DS games, but it's getting there. Genuinely was impressed with this game after Sword/Shield.
@@penndragyn3728 It feels like they took the criticism of SwSh's weak story to heart and made the best goddamn story they could (and in their zeal forgot to bug test)
@@BJGvideos Yeah, exactly. As easy as it is to dunk on Game Freak's management, they have made that improvement. Wasn't looking forward to gen 9, but I hope that (a decent amount of time from now obviously) they keep that improvement into gen 10
Raw as hell. 10/10.
God, what a song and what a cover! I have been waiting for someone to cover this song and I am NOT disappointed!
This is a whole new level of awesome. Dammnnnn that was good!
@RichaadEB.. Won't accept. Faker
Excuse me? Sorry. Mommy? Sorry. Daddy? Sorry. Sorry.
Scarlet and Violet have been an absolute blast, even in spite of all of the bugs. Thanks for the cover, I greatly look forward to some Team Star covers, if those are on the menu. :)
I've to absolutely agree there. They're great games that got overshadowed by the bugs. Hopefully they'll get fixed eventually. And I can't wait for him to cover other music too from this game because it has a lot of great tunes.
I actually stopped fighting and just listened to the song during the fight
That hunters mark! 🤩 what an absolute banger! 🤌
Oh my god the TONE in that bass, so goooooooood
Genuinely love that bit at 1:12 more than in the original. Sounds like an alarm. Very fitting.
un des meilleurs combat des derniers pokémons sans hésité. Il est mythique !
This is absolutely horrifying and I love it.
that effect you have on at 1:13 is insane
Such an Epic Rendition of this song! Very well done!
We need a Sada/ Turo game or episode in the anime showing what happened... Hell more Arven too. Their storyline was the best one
I feel like some sort of Generations or Evolutions series is going to be the only shot we get for seeing the professors or AIs in the anime. Horizons may have Turo at some point but they're in Scarletverse so both Sada and her AI are long gone (and I doubt the anime would have a "save the AI" plot, unfortunately)
I get real Protest the Hero vibes from alot of the lead work here, love it
good ear
I was hoping you’d cover this one. ❤
Been waiting for a metal cover of this track, you killed it!
Always love a good metal cover of a Toby Fox song.
When it crosses over into the Raid Battle theme I cry evertim
As a subscriber and fellow musician, I love your stuff. Please hear our cries. We need a Penny's Theme. 🙏
カッコよすぎる!
I knew this would be the first one
i really wanna hear ur take on the team star battle theme. epic as always
Especially the boss theme, it begs for a metal cover, even more than the grunt theme which I also want covered eventually.
@@GoinGreninja Same
itll happen
This should be their Rematch Theme, cause it sounds awesome
AI RichaadEB has initiated another great guitar cover.
seeing you without a chef hat is weird after all those pizza tower videos
but the cover still hits
Dude… i JUST came back from the Battle against a true hero video cover you did. The level of growth you have displayed both from an arrangement perspective and a technique perspective is just out of this world. Earned a sub for sure and keep up the amazing work!!!!
holy hell. this is so good, and I am not usually into this kind of music. should probably try to remedy that.
HOLY SHIT THIS IS AMAZING
This is absolutely great! I'm also thinking of a Djent version.
This guy doesn't get nearly the amount of views that he should. Richaad is a legend
The universe was created so that we can enjoy this remix 😂
Holy s***! This is FIRE! Makes me want to get Scarlet and Violet!
Did you?
I found this to be the best moment a pokemon game has given me. True, Arceus final fight was also cool but I think it doesn't compare. The music is superior, the effects are superior, and it felt all way more personal and deadly
Also I'm weak for glitching effects
Hey man, just subbed you from your collaborations with Dr Pez. I gotta say, your solos were on point in R/S/E medley cover as well as the recent D/P/P covers.
Love your work, keep it up! :)
2:26 to the end… chills
Jeeeeez that's so fucking great!
I love the story and all, but our Raidon got a boost to beat a former rival? The twists in the story and everything? It sounds like a modern action-based Disney movie. I'm not complaining though, the storyline is actually good.
It’s my favourite song of the game! 😁
Great Cover! 🤩🎉
This is just off the walls crazy and I love it
Dude I'm so glad you covered this, it's amazing!
OHHH IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FROM YOU
idk why but there's a few spots in this cover that remind me of your cover of oppa toby style, good shit
The song is like SUPER inspired from Oppa Toby Style if not straight up taking samples from it and messing with it a bit. The drums are like note for note OTS
Yeah, this makes sense. The Toby Aura compels covers
HERE IT IS!!!!
Been waiting for RichaadEB to enter the fray!
Oh man, when that Tera Battle motif kicks in...
