Oh I’m addicted to this dressing since I tasted it in Japan once. So thank you so mich for the explanation how to make it myself. Now I’m curious, whats the difference between japanese and european mayonnaise? So maybe I can do it myself as I have never seen this in my country. Thank you so much
You're welcome! I'm not too sure about European mayonnaise in particular, but Japanese mayonnaise is made only with egg yolks to give it a more creamy texture. It's also made with rice vinegar which has a lower acidity and milder taste to other vinegars used in mayonnaise in other countries. Lastly, it contains MSG which adds umami. Of course you can try the recipe with mayonnaise from your home, it will taste slightly different but I think it will still be good. I hope this answers your question, thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy the recipe :)

If it's kept in an airtight container at the back of the fridge, it should last for 1-2 weeks. If you make a large batch, I recommend storing it in multiple smaller containers and use each container one at a time, this will help it keep for longer. Thank you for your question, hope this helps!
Hi, thank you for your question! I recommend keeping it in an airtight container in the fridge for about 2 weeks tops just to be on the safe side. Theoretically it should keep longer than that if you use freshly opened mayonnaise, but my personal rule is 1-2 weeks. Hope that helps!
So good! I added a little red miso and a little bit more sugar to balance out the umami of the miso! Was so yummy and is my go to dressing now!! ₍ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ₎
Thank you for your question! It can be stored in the fridge for 1 week since it contains mayonnaise. If you mix the ingredients without the mayonnaise, it can be kept for 2 weeks and you can mix in the mayonnaise before serving. Hope that helps!
You're welcome! I can't think of any substitute if you still want the dressing to be creamy, but if you're just looking for a sesame flavor dressing you can just omit it and try adding more rice vinegar, soy sauce and sesame oil for a thinner sesame dressing. Hope that helps!
I had a look online for you and found there's a company that makes halal certified Japanese condiments called "Yokoi" yokoi-vinegar.com/products/others Alternatively you can substitute rice vinegar for apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar (they go through a process to remove the alcohol), hope this helps!
@@SudachiRecipes Since in Islamic's rule, any food that already in contact with alcohol is considered haram, maybe there are some halal version of it. Thank you for the suggestion & help 🙏
@@ferryoctavian4247 I didn't realise that, thank you for educating me. My last suggestion would to use lemon juice, but of course this will change the flavour quite a bit. Good luck!
This recipe is a small batch for 2 people so you'd basically need to multiply the ingredients by 25. Below is the measurements for 16 servings using cups (instead of tablespoon measurements) so hopefully it will be easier to multiply. For 50, multiply the recipe below by 3 and a bit. Good luck with your cooking competition! Let us know if you win! For 16 servings you'll need: 1 cup sesame seeds 1 cup Japanese mayonnaise 40 ml rice vinegar 1/4 cup sugar 40ml soy sauce 40ml sesame oil

Thank you for the comment! The music is from a Japanese royalty free library so I doubt it unless they sourced it from there too!
