Another very useful video. I love the quick release knots especially as I have arthritis in my fingers. I really like the improved Highwayman's hitch and look forward to trying it out. Just checking, I thought the Evenk hitch has a Figure 8 topology, I couldn't see that in your knot but I'm no expert.
You're right, the evenk hitch does have a figure 8 structure, but is not that great, and twists in a way I don't like when under load. I guess I should have named my version the modified and improved and simplified Evenk Hitch as its much easier to tie and doesn't twist like the standard version 👍👍
