My favorite, monkey knot
You literally make money by tying up loose ends
We need a tie shoes subliminal
I am a sailor. Knot is one of the most important thing when one lives on a boat or into mountain climbing. Videos are great, very articulate. I am impress. I salute you
Thank you very much for demonstrating these knots. I'm kinda liking the figure 8 knot for sealing small bags of weighed fruit at the supermarket, but if you think there's an even easier knot to untie for such a use, I'd love to see a video of such a knot!
I'm lucky, I don't have to make some of these knots, I just find them in my shoestrings.
Hilarious and very true!
🤣
🤣🤣🤣
even found a monkeys fist? heard they spawn very rarely!
Ha ha
Thank you...no one has taken the time to really discuss the knots. I use them in beading and I have had the worst time working them out. You would think that making a video on knots wouldn't be appreciated, but it is. Too many people out there are getting into designing jewelry and beadwork, even rosaries, and knots are exceptionally beautiful in the work when they are done correctly. God bless.
The audio is pretty much relaxing to make us enjoy knoting even doing many mistakes hahaha
The best explanation to do the barrel knot, love it. Thank you!
This tutorial is exactly what I needed! I sew drawstring bags and used the knots to decorate the drawstrings!
Do you have a similar and quick technique to make this knot to a bracelet only from these knots? I mean a prayer rope but the simple and quick knitting technique?
Restrung some pleated blinds and needed several stop knots. Perfect and very easy. Thank you for posting!
I have been trying to make a couple of these knots for a while. First time I ever could follow. I appreciate this video so much
Thank you for taking the time out of your life to teach this. I very much appreciate it
Always assumed the Monkey Fist was too complicated - followed your video and produced an acceptable knot first time. Thanks so much.
Thanks for showing us these Knott’s, very useful. 👍
Stevedore stopper knot worked perfectly for my usecase. Thank you for the great video!!
Thank you for sharing love your vids and your tutorials are so clear and nicely paced for someone like me who is clueless to do this.
Nice upload, I used the celtic button knot for one end of my drawstring shorts and it seems to be holding up. The visuals of how to tie the knots are really well done good quality upload.
Love this video! I have an application that a Celtic knot is perfect for but the working end is already tied down so tying the knot with only the tag end seems impossible! 😉
Great video, good explanation and demo of each knot.
For decorative monkey's fists, I like to put a stopper knot in the very end of the line and use that as the core of the knot. Knot auto-bulked, end auto-hidden!
Great tip!
Best tutorial for end knots!!
Excellent Instructional Video. Thanks 😊. I saved this one to my private Knot Tying play list for future reference. I'm just learning different knots for jewelry beading projects.
Awesome! Thank you!
I’m grateful for this! Thank you!
My favourite is the monkey's fist. It's very decorative and useful at the same time. Thanks! Subbed!
i was making a mini factory out of things like popsicle sticks and i used 2 of these knots, thanks for the info!
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much
Immensely helpful, thank you.
My Barrel knots came out great! Thank you
Great video, well done. Thank you!
Thank you bro for this video you made that was very simple knot but yet very useful👍👍👍
I like the diamond knot the best as a satisfying pull-together process, aesthetically. Practically, the double-overhand.
Thanks, your tutorials are really good :)
Appreciate the video. Knot on my forearm workout rope got too small. Overhand knot was big enough to plug the hole.
Excellent & Educational video! I use the Figure 8 Knot the most. I believe each knot has its purpose and place. Bulky knots don't work well for me when carrying a pocket knife, especially when wearing dress slacks or a suit. Key fobs should have lighter knots as the weight of keys and whatever else is attached can wear down the ignition switch.
I had no idea there were so many stopper knots. THANKS .
Thanks quite clear and useful
Thank you! Very useful! 🥰
Just what I needed, thanks you
Fantastic, and easy to follow! Thank you 🙂
Enjoyed and nice to have a free education~
Perfect! Thank you!
Thank you so helpful
I always use the double over hand - it's simple to remember and execute.
Put the barrel knot to good use today. Thanks!
Thanks for the monkey's fist - that's one I never learnt! Originally it was used in a heaving line - insert a medium size stone in the knot, and you can throw the rope end a long way.
For boating, the only stopper knot recommended for use is the figure of 8 (RYA syllabus) - it's the only one that can be undone easily after tension. All the others bind - great for not coming undone, but will usually require a marlin spike to undo them...
Thanks! Easy tutorial for the monkey fist. Appreciate it!
Two thumbs up.
The pacing and commentary were dead on!
Thank you!
Nice tutorial on stopper knots. I'm probably not the first to say on your first example the correct term is working end, running end, or bitter end, but not standing end.
Hello, i came here looking for fishing knots. I stay here for the cool videos. Very good teacher👍✌🤝
Thanks and welcome!
Nice! Really nice!
My favorite stopper knot these days is the Ashley Stopper Knot.
Thank You 🤙🏻
Just replaced the drawstring on my rucksack and tied it off with a couple of stevedores, thank you!
Thank. I did it
Wonderfully clear video. Could I ask for advice? I need a stopper knot that is easy to undo. It will be in a halyard and if that halyard stretches I will need to move the knot. Any guidance? Thanks
I like the stevedore
Good Video, Stopper knots are Important , Knots have Interested me for Decades, Fishing, Climbing, Maritime, you name it, For me not only Useful but it makes you use both sides of my Brain, I easily know more than 100 knots . I always struggled with the Monkey fist, what is your favorite loop knot, also your favorite version of boline
thank you !
Yohr videos are very nice
For extra credit, when you do the Stevedore Knot, instead of clipping the end, feed the excess back through the knot so it becomes part of the standing part of the cord.
GJ bro!
very nice video

The single strand Diamond Knot would’ve come in handy when my ID lanyards were still somewhat in demand. Oh, well. Nothing lasts forever.
Thanks
You’re a great teacher with these knots. Unfortunately I’m an old fart and it took me umpteen times to get it right but I got it. Thank you so much for sharing your tutorial it was very helpful🤪😉☺️
Le Agradezco mucho esta información amigo mio
Excelente
Love the monkey paw!
Without wrapping around your finger, the double overhand and barrel (aka triple overhand) knots can also be made by twisting the loop over the overhands when you cinch it down.
Celtic Button Knot/Single Strand Diamond Knot - 0:18
Figure Eight Knot - 1:38
Double Overhand Knot - 2:10
Barrel Knot - 2:45
Stevedore Knot - 3:22
Monkey's Fist - 4:21
Another awesome learning Challenge, I love your channel and I love making these but I have a question. When I make these and wear them my friends always want one but paracord and tools cost money, am I allowed to sell the ones I make from your tutorials? Thank you for these super fun awesome challenges, hoping to br a patreon soon! :)
Of course you can sell the paracord bracelets you make! Go for it!
Okay, Thank you again! ;)
You mentioned Begleri for one of the knots. Are the other decorative/practical knots good for that?
PSA: The loaded Monkey's Fist is classified as a concealed weapon--a 'slungshot' (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slungshot )--in some jurisdictions!
Monkey's fist is my favorite
I’ve used a different of the barrel knot (where you pull 3 loops of your finger. Pau the workiing short end through the barrel and then double back. Did this so by the end it is s pointing in the same direction as the long. The loops can be tightened so a loop is formed.
Diz knots!
I take my scraps of cord and make "marbles" out of them to use in monkey fists :) like, I make a single strand Diamond knot and cut of the extra cord and fuse it down to make my "marbles."
Nice vid!. While I like the celtic button knot for decorative purposes, the one that I use when I need a larger stopper knot that is also symmetrical is the Ashley's Stopper Knot (Oysterman's Stopper) ABOK#526. Keep up the good work.
I agree that this is the best , practical, stopper knot, especially to prevent a line from stripping out of a block/pulley. It is chunky and symmetrical, and is easy to tie and untie.
Thanks!
Thank you for your support Bruce! 🙏
monkeys fist is my favorite, although i do love tying the celtic
Celtic button knot on all things!
New subscriber here! 😃👏
Thanks for subscribing!
Brilliant! I'm very sad that I lost my interest in paracording! I have so much cord left and all kinds of jigs self made. But I get confused after measuring a wrist and then after the work it doesn't fit either to big or to small! 😕
Them make something over than bracelets. This guy has so many tutorials for loads of cool stuff
love your videos! But sometimes my pockets do the tricks. =P
Could the Celtic knot be used on slightly bigger rope or just best for paracord?
oh this is exactly what i needed for a macrame project! thank you!
How about cufflinks?
By the way... can you make a chotki/kompuskini with paracord?
An ex's dad taught me the figure 8 and it's one of the few I still know by name. "Make an alien head, strangle them, then poke them in the eye"
you sound so much like Will Forte! ✌💓
Top!
3:27 this is just for later . Thank you
When tying a monkeys fist it’s useful to splice the bitter end through the standing part of your line so that the monkeys fist itself is part of an eye. Then wrap the spice with whipping twine for a strong, clean connection. Also, a small, lead cannonball fishing weight (no more than two ounces, and with the brass eye removed) will give enough mass to carry the line a long distance without hurting the person on the receiving end.
Great tip, thank you!
The grey, the red and the green one.
DEEZ KNOTS!!!! Ha GOT EEEM!
Btw would you consider doing a vid using a paracord to strengthen the iPhone charger wire? They are notorious for fraying and takes me a month before it looks like a rat chewed in it
Can you please give a example of every knot. It will be very helpful if you do.
Great :-)
Which is best for the rope to put laundry on? A fixed hook on wall + straighten the part of the rope where clothes would be...
What is the best knot to use at the bottom of a single stran 1.25 inch diameter rope swing, using only the knot at the end/bottom of knot? Thanks in advance
I actually found the figure 8 know out on my own and saw it as more of a fly than a figure 8
Monkey Fist can be considered a weapon and is illegal as such in many states. Also, most ships use sandbags instead as if longshoremen find out you have a "loaded" monkey fist you might be in for a swim.
Super Video ! However... with all the due respect, I can't stop myself from saying ... "Know theeeese nuts !" ... have a good one !
Do you have any continuous knots that I could make in two colors, one running down the middle to make the diamonds and then filling the remainder of the pattern? I can't find one anywhere. Tx.
