This ones maybe a bit of a longer video but thought it'd been a while since you saw a good old reaper fight from me, enjoy my dudes! :D

A trick I learned the other day, apparently, you can throw a firework at the Reaper's face and it stops the final thermobaric blast for a time.
I might try this since you apparently get worse loot if it explodes

Got my first Reaper this weekend. Luckily it was a nice hilly area so I was able to snipe at him with relative impunity from behind a rock at the top of a hill (I wouldn't fancy trying it on flat ground like you're doing).
I followed your advice and now have an experimental Kpist, which is pretty sweet.

I found this video both entertaining and informative! Highlighting the fact that the reaper does not always spawn with an example, and show casing what to do when that happens, was allot more effective than just stating it happens.
Gave this a try myself and got pretty lucky! Had a threat level over 21k and maybe 6 or 7 rivals active when the reaper spawned my first try. I wasn't expecting that.
Just finished taking down a Reaper in the Mountains region. For some reason this proved to be my most difficult one yet and got my arse kicked well and truly. Have taken down one Reaper without dying thou. I have used the same sort of tactic with Harvesters to farm Hunters to build the region score. Hardest region to build up was the Archipelago. Got 3 Reapers to spawn there almost one after the other. Thank you once again. You certainly have given me ways to improve my tactics. My try 'The Storms' "quiet attack" also. See you next time.

I’m not sure but I think the Experimental LMG can still damage the Reaper while it’s shielded because of the electrical arch damage
Also I would love to see the environment get effected by the Thermo explosion, like the trees bend out and dust/dirt gets push out like in old nuke testing videos
Man if we ever get terrain destruction, the reapers thermobaric will be terrifying! :D

For me, best Reaper farming has been to farm region level to max for 4 or more regions. Sometimes I try to get them all to 25, but Archipelago takes ages. Anyway, once i have 4+ regions maxed, then I start trying to spawn the reaper. One I kill the first one, another will usually spawn in another region in 10 minutes or less. My best reaper run when doing this has been 7 in a row. Also, i do all my region farming solo. When I am ready to start hunting Reapers, I'll open the game up for others to join.
Those are some good tips! What i like to do though is to turn on spotify and just go ham in a region

the electric arc that the Experimental KVM 59 makes as well as the experimental ammo types that do electric damage (like the 9MM Pistol ammo and the 7,62 as well) can damage the reaper even if it has the shields active. i killed 3 reapers back-to-back taking NO damage with this, as i used the N60, or rather M60 as it is called irl with a 5 star mag extension and only electric ammo. killed it in under 2 mags. 3rd one i got in 1 mag, but i think he was damaged from fighting russian robots, so i'm not sure if that was all me or not haha.
That is a fight I would like to see is a couple Spetsnaz Wolf's fight a Reaper.
@@-_918Buba_- i have seen it, and it went pretty much as bad as if a level 1 player fought the reaper for the first time as well.
I will still farm Reapers in my way. I call it "quiet attack". To do it you need to throw a smoke granade into the Reapers and then do the "quiet" part. Its all about throwing as many normal granades as possible on him.

Never had found a real use for smoke grenades except for recycling. Obviously you would try the attack when the shields are down. Thank you for the idea and I will give it a go.

I'll have to say the most annoying thing about the reaper is how much he likes to move around. Makes it so hard to take out his shields. Otherwise I wouldn't say I've ever had too much of a problem with him after the first time fighting :D
just wanted to toss this out as a player who HATES gas attacks, if you did not know you can disable a harvesters (and tanks) large aoe gas cloud by going after there Neurotoxin Dispensers (partly seen at 7:32 its the plate with a bottle and vents just under the armor plating ) there one on each side, same for the Concussion Actuat ( aoe blast attack that does like 70-80 damage) but there much smaller and harder to hit, would recomend finding the basic blueprints for both to start learning where they are, as most modles share the same or similar placments for them.

You can actually spawn the reaper without having to wait an hour if you go to another region that’s level 21+. I keep all of my regions at 21+ so I can farm him all day and fight one right after the other without having to wait that hour cool down time.
I must have had some amazing rng then cause i spawned, fought, destroyed 5 reapers back to back last night 🤔 interesting about the difficulty though i always thought the higher the difficulty the better the drops could be.. amazing video as always, I learned something new!

Level 4 tanks drop experimental weapons now, so no more running your inventory dry of ammo.on reapers since last update. Also, there is a lot more lead, explosives, tungsten, and copper about. Good times.

Region level maxes at 25, based on how high the respective region score is

Would it not be better to just focus on getting the region score above 21 first? Since with getting max rivals first you guarantee youd need to kill one, but with focusing on region level instead there is a chance you will hit 21 first, making you have a sligth chance of getting a reaper as you farm to 25.
Farming to 21 would obviously make getting max rivals a high chance. But I just see no need making sure you have 8 in the first place.
Sorry for the late reply here but the idea is to have set harvesters you go to in order to farm hunters for large amounts of region score. If getting one reaper was the goal then yeah you'd beeline for the highest score as quickly as possible, but this guide is for having your regions set to go spawn the reaper when you want to. So leaving rivals to maintain score is also essential and having all of them tracked makes farming much easier in a region as you know where to avoid if need be!
Tldr; having farmable harvesters gets you many repeatable reaper regions, which is the primary goal of finding rivals.

When you say wait an hour do you mean an actual hour in life to count for an hour in game or wait an in game time hour? And if it's the in game time hour how long would that be to count 1 hour?

I just started playing this game, only 15 hours in. But the game has so many more layers then i expected in the beginning.

For all the people who have played and finished the game why can’t the devs just make the reaper a normal rival in the game.
Cause then it won’t seem like the big bad grim reaper and would be seen as a apocalypse tank rival
I've always had love for this game but its really annoying that a scrappy little tree or a wooden house/shed can be used as a indestructible bunker. There needs to be some destrucability to the world.

Only by a very small amount, due to the chance of proc explosions. I'd say keep that uranium for shock ammo instead and use typical bmg ammo for its shield gens :D
Man I thought the regular tanks were dangerous enough, and I mean they are since even they can insta kill you if they get a clear shot.
The sound design in this is so good. You instantly know when you are getting close to a machine when you can just barely hear the grunts and grinds of their gears and the various other sounds they make. With more time you realise that each machine makes a specific set of noises and it helps you realise when you are getting near a tank for example, or worse. I also love how as the larger machines get closer the literal ground starts to shake, like in the Jurassic Park movie when the T-Rex is coming. I feel like the Reaper has its own sound design.

Very helpful guide! Just one little question, the one hour wait time between rivals/reaper spawn, is that in game time or can you shut the game down and go do something else meanwhile?
in game time. so just go idle in the game for a bit if you have the score to spawn another
Jeez, almost half an hour to take down one of these!!! Would it be easier/less time consuming to use like 25 HE rockets instead or maybe put down a few land mines and lure one over them?
For the 1 hour timer, do you have to wait in game for it to go down?
I started playing late December on game pass, with a pc friend, and we have had a blast. However, I've watched your vids and have only died 3 times in combat. My PC friend who hasn't, has died around 10x as much lol. Recently had to drop him alot of adrenaline as I had 30+ and he had zero lol. Thanks for the tips!

Currently i find the best way to get experimental weapons. Since they are now easy to get. Make rivals 5-6 even having 4 at tier 4 is also a good way to farm them. Rivals spawn experimental weapons so long as they are military or above. Finix seems to be the best way ive found to farm the Experimental weapons. Ive gotten 6 back to back yesterday from 2 different areas while keeping 3 rivals alive in the areas im in so i can get the region level back up. And spawn more rivals. Ive also noticed that the region level helps with the drop rate. You can get an experimental weapon from your second rival even on a rank 3 rival.
I kept rewinding the first second because it amused me to hear "Fwa-" xD
I never get tired of seeing a reaper nuke the dogs around it and then seeing them go flying!

When targeting a shield generator, and you can't directly see it, can the PVG90 shoot through leg/shoulder structure and hit the generator?

Tht sound when the reaper spawned in gave me Terminator vibes. I’m new too the game, guessing this is like end game boss.how did get all those top tier crafting recipes? Like ammo like med kits? Great videos as well they have helped me a ton
The experimental ammo and medkits are earned by completing the base defense mission in the Forest region over and over, you'll need a good supply of wood, textiles and steel before you start, at least 500-600 wood and half that for the others to build your base. Each time you complete the mission (you can do it once per hour and you'll need to build up your region score between each run) you have a chance of earning an experimental schematic, which is somewhat common on the easy and medium difficulty but on hard it's all but guaranteed that you will get one. I don't suggest trying hard until you're fairly well leveled up (it's a great end game activity, I didn't even start doing them until I was level 31). On each run you will earn a few pieces of uranium which is required for all exp schematics, they require two pieces of it per unit of experimental ammo or health packs, you get 10 health packs per, and anywhere from 60 to 400 rounds of ammo depending on which type you choose.
You can also farm the reaper in the same region, you can both take out the reaper and do the base defense every hour if you keep your region score above 21 and don't kill rivals unless there are more than 7, since the reaper counts as a rival and the max is 8.

Wait wouldn’t killing rivals decrease ur region level?
Kill the rivals at level 1 so it only drops your region level by 1, then continue your robot spree
Does normal rivals still drop experimental weapons or is it only the reaper who does that now? Because I haven't looted one for a very long time from rivals lol
I don't mean to be that guy but I'm still kind of confused on how you get your region score up I go around killing regular enemies but it doesn't seem like it gets my score up any higher definitely having problems with the region score.. and how do you get special ammo?
No worries at all my dude! So tahts why i have the section specifically on how to increase your region score, the goal is
1. remove your rival harvester weapons without killing the harvester
2. farm all the hunters the harvester spawns without killing the rival
3. rinse and repeat _without_ killing any rivals and
4. profit! :D
Hopefully that helps, try it out in your game and maybe give me an update here if you start to see that score get higher!
Special ammo blueprints are earned by completing Base Defences (Good News side quest) I think u get at least 1 exp ammo blueprint per defence, you can’t just find special ammo, somebody needs to craft it….. I think 😙

@@TenebrisInfinite and I would like to say yes it did work I believe I was level 13 and now I'm level 16 in the region.I did it like two or three times and it feels like it works a lot better cuz you can just keep going back and doing the same thing to the one harvester that I found so far so thank you very much for taking the time in helping me I really appreciate you very much
Has hunter spawning from harvesters been changed? I can’t seem to get the harvester to start spawning hunters again unless I quit and go back in, fast traveling doesn’t seem to be working for me

btw, you can essentially neuter any rival tanks by shooting off their guns and tick pods and then leaving them
If/when a Reaper finally spawns, is it persistant? Meaning, Now that I finally got a Reaper to spawn, and I'm out of gaming time for the day...can I come back later or the next day to take it on when I have more gaming time?
Yes you can do exactly that dude, the dmg you do to machines persists too! So if he takes a couple swings you can keep coming back to him
Once the reaper has spawned in can I re-change the difficulty setting back to normal or does it effect anything bad?
I beat reapers by attacking first the lighted nodes on its legs closest to body then concentrate on dome on its head can take up to 200 rockets machine gun fire,exploding ammo concentrated on those nodes can take them out fairly quickly.

I was able to spawn the reaper in apaelgo region 🙌 the starter region of the game,,, I did LOTS of assiments with RUNNERS @ PROTOTYPE machines running in circles lol
Are we gonna ignore how he haves a rival from the marshlands in the middle of the farm lands you know how long it would take for it to walk to the center of the map

Have the devs said anything about the Reaper dying to thermobaric suicide ..... if it's a bug, it's been around a long time?
I've lost track of the number of times I've experienced this. If the suicide didn't nerf the loot, I wouldn't care.
Na its a little feature it does the suicide bomb when around 40-30% HP kinda rare tho. But you just need to try your best to kill it before it blows up. Id go for components like his gun, eyes or the tick Despenser
I always play on Guerilla Mode, I was wondering how this effects the drop rates, if it does, and whether that is what you play on for these videos?
Drop rates are not effected by difficulty
You get the same amount of exp and same amount of loot
Only thing difficulty changes is rivals spawning from what i remember

I got a reaper with a region level 20 and it only dropped an experimental helmet and a 5 star silencer, tough luck

I was thinking about using Ammo Packs after I noticed I had 36 in my FINX box. Guess that is why the game will not let me make more right now.. :)

Tips take out ticks if there is slot use a emp cell it will kill Al of them
Also you can leave rivals at 7.. then if you don't get a reaper just kill the level 1 rival so you don't lose 4 points
I pretty much use a experimental sniper with explosive rounds and shoot it's components quick and easy
edit: I have to like bait the Reaper to a spot that it can get stuck like a buildings or trees so I can safely kill it without getting shot

I like they patched the reaper so you can now get an or more experimental weapons every time you kill the reaper. And by other way wich one of these ars has better damage per round, Experimental AG4 or Special AI-76? Wich one takes less bullet to kill a machine?

South coast region challenge my dude! Check the challenges tab and look for truth, then complete the ones in cataclysm day till the end of the tree and that vraken pilot mask is yours!
