    filtration can be used agro film which is used to protect plants from frost it is the cheapest filter. The film comes in 17g; 30g; For 50g / M2 thickness standards, density can be selected or a double layer can be used. It is possible to filter not only during fuel production but also before filling into the fuel tank.

    Hey Greg.! Out of all the videos I have watched (A LOT) over the past month on biodiesel, I always find myself coming back to yours and this set up. Can you tell me how it’s running now, is it still going well? And has there been any modifications done since you done the video? Or is there anything you would change about this set up? Honestly, I’d just like to say thank, everything about these videos you did has been brilliant for me.

    Could a mini version of the system needed to make bio diesel be built to fit in the bed of a truck under a camper shell? I am planning on hitting the road full time pulling a travel trailer. I would like to make it interesting by driving cross country while processing. My own bio diesel.

    • @gregs_garage
      @gregs_garage  3 роки тому +6

      oh wow that would be interesting. 12 volt pumps could move it around I guess. Getting the heat into the oil would be a challenge. and this system only makes 100 litres at a time. If you have access to 120 volts when camping it is a good idea to make while you camp but not on the road.

      @@gregs_garage I will be traveling with a generator. It's a 2200 watt inverter. I could always upsize and get one big enough to run a small 220v water heater. But the bigger ones are so loud. If I was working with 110v only what heating source would be ideal for that compact space? In all reality it wouldn't be that compact. It's an 8 foot bed lol. If I could figure out how to process while I travel (while stopped of course) that would cut my living expense down to almost nothing and make for a real cool UA-cam channel

      @@gregs_garage I'm actually a master plumber. I know I could get a small 5, 10, 15 gallon heater. Let's say for example I stop every 500 miles to refill and it cost me around 90 bucks. My tank is a 3 gallon tank. If I were to stop and try to make 60 to 120 gallons of biodiesel using a 5, 10 or 15 gallon heater how long would my stop be? Are we talking hours, days, weeks? Once I'm on the road I will be in no rush. I can camp out while making batches. And If I got to get somewhere fast I can just use regular diesel and go.

    • @gregs_garage
      @gregs_garage  3 роки тому +1

      say 15 gallons: Heat the oil for a couple hours, add chemicals, process and circulate for an hour, let settle overnight (not while driving), transfer the oil to another tank for cleaning. Repeat the next day. After 4 days you will have 60 gallons if everything goes perfectly. Then you have to clean and filter it before use. Say another day. So yes if you have a very efficient process you could make 60 gallons in less than a week.

    I use one steel tank that used to be a pressure accumulator in a large building for water, with a rubber bladder inside. I made a new flange for the bottom for the heater and one inch outlet. Cut a 4 inch hole in the top and welded a bush on it. I do 300L batches with a 2 stage reaction. No titration, thats a waste of time, just use the 27-3 test. I store raw fuel and then wash and dry in a 200L plastic conical finishing tank. anything less than 300L batches is not a good use of time.
