to remember Cayde, i literally pulled the Ace of Spades card from my stack of cards and put it in a frame, then hanged it up on my wall so i’ll remember him everyday i wake up

Cayde-6 ~ 2017 Destiny 2
What I call his “stare down” is easily one of the most powerful moments in any cinematic universe. Him standing up, pulling on his hood looking at his weapon the only connection to his son he has, saying “I’m coming home Ace”. It’s that scene where we see him accept that this is it the moment where the weight of reality sets in. And then seeing and hearing his gun clatter to the ground it really truly shows, It’s Over. A year or so later and thinking about his death still saddens me, his character had a life to it that no other has really had.
3 years later and this comment is the closest I've come to crying in a while. Cayde-6 had so much substance and personality that losing him actually felt almost like losing a friend. That scene is just... unrivaled. Forsaken as a whole is completely unrivaled by anything we've seen since. I still can't believe it's gone forever; I've never understood how they could bring themselves to permanently vault such an amazing DLC with a wonderfully crafted and emotional storyline. To me it feels like taking away the Red War and Forsaken pretty much gutted the game of its soul.
The worst part of life is seeing the ppl that gave u memories become the memories fly high king 👑

His backstory makes his death a little less sad to know he was a dad who’s one big wish was to remember his son and to see him again and he got his wish
He doesn’t actually know if they exist,he wants to,it gives him hope.

Mobslayer 211 it’s a bit more complicated then that, I think it’s a D1? Book, that’s talks about his wife one of the big reasons he doesn’t for sure know if they are real or not is his reboots. He lost the journal he woke up with when his ghost first resurrected him, the one that detailed his wife and son. But after 6 reboots he no longer is for sure if they are real or not as to him it’s a failing memory
Actually code04drawing, he doesn't know if there real or not but he believes they are because he wants something to give him hope to keep fighting when he wants to give up he wants something to fight for
Cayde in fact did have a family. Unfortunately cayde turned himself into an exo to pay off his debt so that he would be able to see his son again.

Cayde you will be remembered through the stories we will tell our kids and our kids will tell their kids. Cayde, you will be missed you are the best hunter to have roamed the cosmos. The day I watched Cayde die and carry him back to my ship, was the day I hung up my warlock bond and took up Cayde's Cloak. Rip old friend. Thank you for helping me deal with the loss of my wife and child for the past few years. You were one of the few things that helped me with your lore. Ace is in my hands now. Rest well hunter. My friend and mentor.

Destiny 3 is supposed to be heavily about Dark vs Light and, from what I heard so it may not be confirmed, there may be an option to be a guardian of the dark so if that's supposedly the case I'd most definitely keep my warlock to the light just for remembrance of our favourite Gunslinging, knife throwing, joke cracking, bad idea planning Hunter Cayde-6. I doubt we'll get the option to go Dark but if they do, in sure itll be interesting to see what happens.

After replaying Destiny 1 forsaken hit a lot different. I always wondered what would Cayde be doing right now, between the Black Fleet arriving deleting planets, Stasis, Crow's introduction, and Savathuns reveal.
He'd be the same joking, awesome, stylish, extremely capable Hunter he always was. A little war wouldn't phase him.
4 years later and I'm still in my feels.. Miss you Cayde
I really hope they introduce him back as a surprise as if he had to reprogram him and resurrect him, ngl the end of the cut scene where he dies made me shed a tear

I use the ace of spades with my hunter and everytime I shoot it I know that cayde is by side in every shot
Just like how the nameless hunter heard Luna's joyful bark every time he fired his cannon, Cayde's laugh will echo with every last Ace fired into the hole.
The sad part is that ace might not be real.
