- Tata Altroz problems is what we are going to discuss today, with an amazing build quality, amazing features and a great road presence it is hard to find issues on the Tata Altroz.
if you own a car and you drive it for a very long time it is easy for you to explain the issues. this is exactly what I followed before doing a long term review on the Tata Altroz. I started driving it for a long time, understanding the vehicle, appreciating the features and what it has to offer.
I also got a chance to talk to Tata Altroz owners before making this video and the problems they were facing so that I get you the information that you are looking for before buying the Tata altroz which is an excellent vehicle but as always, all cars have their own set of pros and cons so does Tata altroz and we are going to discuss each one of them.
Tata Altroz automatic DCA is also going to be launched very soon and it is very surprising considering Tata neve had a dual clutch to offer, is it worth waiting for the Altroz automatic? we will have to wait and watch as the reliability of dct are not known to be very good.
Tata punch and Altroz of are the cars that you can go for at this price and both of these cars have a lot to offer considering they have a five star Euro encap rating which makes it a big deal considering safety being such an important thing in any car.
Tata punch was launched recently so does it still make sense to go for the Tata altros instead of Tata punch? watch the full video to find out and also I will be getting a comparison video of both these cars so that your confusion is cleared.

Altroz has best aerodynamics than any car in India...except VW Polo.
I am a satisfied user of XZ diesel variant with its pepy engine, safety feeling, better suspension and so on. The only negatives are engine noise in the cabin, slight turbo lag and dust catching rear body. These are negligible when compared with the positive aspects of the car. I think it is the best in the segment.

Bahat achha review tha ye. Sab points cover hua ye video me. Tata Altroz looses its premiumness in gear box and laggy Engine. This type of honest opinion is very necessary for a genuine buyer. Keep it up bro 👍🏻.

April 2021 altroz xm+ petrol owner,
Clocked 9000+ km till now
Issues I faced till now
* Gear is not as smooth as Hyundai or Suzuki
* If i am driving 90 kmph i get 17 kmpl averag if between 100 and 110 kmph i get around 14 kmpl average
* Space is good front as well as back seat but underthigh support is bit of problem.
* Tyre noise and bit of engine noise over 70 kmph
* You have to be in proper gear and rpm and to get the most from the engine.
* If engine is heated or driven for 35 minutes.. engine performances increases...
* You have to gear down to overtake.
* This is not city car 😅 specially because you have to change the gear every now and then. On highways true altroz you can feel and see with best deving and handling
hey, how it's going? did you had any issues like fit and finish getting off or central locking or electronics? reliability and service are my only concerns before considering it

@@DhananjayPatankar-q9o I have driven ithus car around 29k, I have driven in mahabaleshwar, bad patches, never touched anywhere but yes you have to take little care while driving..
Tractor sound coming frm left side of dashboard. You did not mention this issue.
Yeah...i obserythe same in my car , apparently it is of engine mount vibration

Petrol or Diesel bro?
Air filter mountings are the culprit for this. Try to check them and tighten.

Altroz is smallest premium hatchback. That’s while it has less space.
I bought Altroz XT in Dec 2021. Done with first servicing, drove 1500km till now. Here are my observations:
1. Initial pickup when starting from still is very bad. It feels like the car lags power when you try to pick up the car (below 2000rpm). I face this problem everytime at the traffic signal.
2. Personally I don't like the rear design of the car, the black strip at the middle attracts a lot of dust and mud. Ceramic coating is a must.
3. Gear nob is a little hard and shifting of gears is not smooth as it is in Hyundai/Suzuki cars.
4. Engine and road noise is observed for long trips on highway when traveling at 80+km/hr.
5. Suspensions of the car are really good. Steering response is top notch when driving at at low speed/high speed.
6. Car is spacious and premium, Rear seats are comfortable for 3 mid sized adults, even during long trips.
I had taken test drive of Altroz before purchase, but there was no power lag issue at low rpm. I am not sure if it was turbo or diesel. I hope the gear problem that I am facing will go by 2nd or 3rd servicing.

@@samarclub9358 In city with A/C I get 13-14kmpl, whereas on highway I get 16-17kmpl.
Without A/C I have reached 19kmpl on highway max.

Yes, fueling is also very big problem inspite of being 200nm torque it doesn't feel like that.
To get the 200nm experience, first ride a Bullock cart. Then a Buffalo cart. Then a dog cart. Then a cat cart. Then a rat cart.
Now get off and sit on altroz. There you feel like 200nm.

Ground Clearance is Less . 165 Only.
I have an Altroz. Bought in 2021. Suddenly my car engine will shut off while driving like there’s no petrol and then shows signs of abs, engine and battery. And then after sometime it starts again. But same problem start again. Have replaced new battery. Cleaned o2 sensor, filter etc but problem is still there. Tata servicing aren’t able to find out what the problem is. 😢😢😢

Same issue came to my altroz as well. Abs, boat and battery symbols appeared. Battery replaced and abs sensor fixed still the abs issue is there but less frequent.
Tata service is unable to fix the problem hence they compensate this with penny discounts.
@@kuldeepvm update. Recently replaced the O2 sensor and the ecu updated. Problem solved. Not sure which one fixed it. I recommend having yours checked too.

I have manual ac Altroz , and I am facing issues since beginning, there is no one capable enough at my service center here to fix the problem of manual ac, air comes from both directions face and feet area even if the knob is set to face only mode, moreover I have also seen a few places started rusting, my car is Oct 2020 built.

AC vent issues will be sort out but what worries me is the rusting part, sell it before its too late

I completely disagree on the reliability point. I've owned a Tata Manza for over 12 years now and i never faced an issue about the reliability of the car. Yes quality needs improvement i agree and the gear shifting issue is there even on my car.

What abt group clearance? Since it has only 165mm, does the bottom touch when we pass huge speed breakers?
What I observed during my test drives was that though the GC of Altroz is marginally lesser than both the Baleno/Glanza and the i20, it makes up for it with the shorter wheelbase. Which means that the rear wheels get onto the speedbreaker before the bottom touches the ground. So, there is almost nil difference in the behaviour any of these three cars while crossing speedbreakers. But if you fully load the cars, it's a different story. Hyundai suspensions are generally softer, so i20 might touch the ground before Altroz does.
I’ll tell you an example, when you park your vehicle besides a small roadside footpath or service road partition/divider you can open your door without your door hitting, when two people are sitting. The suspension is stiff and has strong capabilities

100 percent true, Altroz owner here since last 3 plus years.
1) Jerking in first gear
2) Quality issues - clutch sensor failure- hatch opening issues - minor issues but irritating
3) Low power, feels winded on overtake or on slopes especially stoping and starting in slopes
4) NVH
5) Bad service
6) Auto start stop with AC is a joke, auto starts saying cabin temperature is low, sometimes misses turning on when we need to
7) No in built maps or music , has to plugin your phone
I still love this car but these are its cons
And guys there are different versions of this car released in different years. I brought the very first petrol manual version. There are other versions like iTurbo that solves many issues mentioned.

I am using Altroz XZ plus diesel car, I noticed below issues
1. Gear shifting hard
2. Engine noise at outside only, inside it was hearing,but not high.
3. Dust catching issue
But these are negligible, because I seen heavy accedent also no one is heavily injured. This is the first and most important.
Diesel car is getting excellent milage. With in the city I claimed 15 to 17 and Highways I claimed 22 to 26, speed limit of 60 to 80 Kmpl.
I strongly recommend this car. My point of view is the best car in this segment.

yes youre correct i feel gearbox definately need improvement.im also facing reverse gaer not engagiing properly.most of time 5th gear fall instesd of third gear. under tthiee suport also problem.

I have also observed initial power lag in my test drive of non turbo 1.2 petrol engine. But when I have taken test drive of 1.2 turbo engine I feel that this is some what sorted. This may be because of heavy kerb weight. Those who have driven Maruti or Hyundai cars will specifically find this power less

I faced the following
1 when shifting gear sometimes its jerk in first gear… if Ac is on then its jerking horribly
2. When Ac is on then no pick up at all.

If you Go a lot of long drives then go for a diesel Altroz

My test drive experience: Engine vibration comes only while starting and cabin is silent, pickup is decent, interiors are amazing, look is amazing, drive quality is good.
Only concerning thing for me is harder gear knob. Being a Dzire owner it felt harder to me.
How is the 3 cylinder engine performance
@@maheswaransivanandam6995 you will not realise that engine is 3 cylinder. The only thing i left this car over nexon is its petrol engine is not powerful. Even the car which i denied delivery was having smooth gear knob coz it had updated ecu. So that issue is also resolved.
