🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Masterpiece! An absolutely charming little (b&w) film, directed by Vincente Minnelli and starring the strikingly beautiful, Judy Garland (in a non-musical role) and the handsome and gentlemanly, Robert Walker. This "sweethearts" story of a soldier and his chance meeting with a secretary, while on leave in NYC during WWII is truly heartwarming! The gorgeous cinematography and the hauntingly beautiful music score just add to the magic of this already amazing picture!❤❤ "Highly recommended!"
i remember when i was younger ( before the internet was big ) i was bored flipping through channels on my TV . i came across this movie while it was coming on . i sat and watched the entire movie . Its always stuck with me , its that good .
I've just finished watching this film and I can't work out whether I'm crying because it was so beautiful or because I'm gutted its over...although its probably a bit of both.
I love the song that plays at the beginning of this trailer. It also played all during the movie. I have no information on it, but I wish someone could put the entire song on UA-cam. It's really beautiful...
Ok i literally didn’t know where else to post this but i had to get it out there: Did anyone else notice that when Alice and Joe first get into the milk truck, “Our Love Affair” (which Judy of course did a lovely rendition of in “Strike Up The Band”) is playing on the radio?? I know it was a popular song of the time and It might be unimportant i just thought it was a really sweet like moment. Love everything about this movie!
LOVELY GIRL 🤍 Yes !!! and Much ♥️ That was the Beautiful Judy Garland 🌷 In all his movies !!!! In this movie.... The Clock..... You fall in Love with it
This movie is a top 5 all time. Caught it late night about 4am on TCM. It was amazing. Im glad I listened to the TCM intro because I may have just brushed it off. Glad I paid attention. But no I do not believe you can ever know someone in a few minutes as well as someone else who knows them a few months or years.
Such a sweet film saw it during the War when films were so romantic & Hollywood was top of the World (You should have just kept making films not War USA)
I love this movie. Judy garland is not acting. It is positive that she has become Alice Maybury. Judy is such a brilliant and amazing actress that she ruined me for many other films. All of her films are extraordinarily beautiful but I love the Vincent Minnelli movies especially. I could NOT even feel cheated because didn’t sing inn the Clock because the Movie was so magnificent.
I adore this film. So sweet and nostalgic. I especially love the score.

One of my favorite movies. Both Judy Garland and Robert Walker were wonderful in this film. Robert Walker died much too young.
The most beautiful movie ever made!

One of my all time favourite movie 💕
Released as "Under The Clock" in the UK, this wonderful film hasn't been shown on TV here for decades, for some reason.
entitled "The Bells of Destiny" in Argentina
My favourite Judy Garland film. A "romance noir"
A beautiful film. Vincente Minnelli, who was in love with Judy Garland, crafted that love upon the screen.

Mosaic Rose It’s the musical score by George Bassman composed for the film.
The ending when the humming arrives brings tears to my eyes
