If my AC handler and my ERV, plus all vents are in my attic, I will want my insulation to be in the roof, so my attic is about the same temperature as the house and I don't lose energy in my AC. Insulating the attic roof is much better solution so make a passive home
No, you'll lose a heck of a lot more energy trying to cool an attic that's only inches removed from screamingly hot shingles. The smart move is to insulate the parts of your AC that are in the attic and to vent the rest of your attic well. Don't try to keep the heat out. Just make sure it leaves quickly.
Think you got knauf insulation up there?
