Yeah. One time I was at a pool in Lexington KY, when in the kids area, there were 6 waterway VGB’s. There were 2 sets with 3 drains each, and I met a friend at that pool, who was coincidentally into the pool drain hobby a bit, so we talked about them and such. We found Aquastar drains by the slide, which had a bit of suction on them. About the waterway drains, me and him tested the drains, there was a tiny little bit of suction on them, but here’s the plot twist; 3 of the 6 drains were loosening up. You could stand on it, and shake a bit, and you could fell the cover alternating positions. Scary, right?
I thought people daring one and another to swim inside the wave generator chambers was bad enough let alone people doing it with pool drains. The duty manager and couple of swimmers admitted to swimming inside the chambers after removing the bars.
@@Chironex_Fleckeri are you fucking stupid? It's a drain with a suction that is powerful how stupid do you have to be to not know to stick any part of yourself into a mechanical machine or pump, jet, vacuum system etc. God you literally are an annoying person and idek you
If the hole doesn’t have a lid, then don’t go near it. Luckily, the public pool near my house just had a large number of low pressure, 2 inch wide holes, so suction pump entrapment wasn’t a problem. But lidless holes like this are especially dangerous.
yeah the kid shoulnd't of been dumb but theres no way a child can pull off a grate ever unless it was already barely on there and the child was able to lift with ease. doesnt sound vgb compliant at all
This is why gravity-feed drains are how most commercial pools work - there isn't actually suction, rather the water itself "falls" into the drain, so there is essentailly equal pressure on both sides of the drain
This is why, uneducated people should not be fooling around with pool equipment, they are uneducated in the dangers! In the summer, I work net door at a campground, cleaning the pool, back washing it, emptying the skimmer, picking up the trash, cleaning the arcade, etc, and I remember when my friend Homer was taking me on the golf cart to the pool pump room, he told me that some of the thug kids there got into the pump room, and messed with the equipment, It just made me so mad! I was like "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING, Messing with expensive equipment in there, and closing the skimmer valve? I hope you found out who was doing it Homer!" Homer never found out who was doing it, but I have my suspicions who was doing it! And It's a good thing I didn't see them myself. They wouldn't be coming to that campground anymore!

When you are dared always say "you do it first". Daring can be a malicious act and I think the teens should be prosecuted

Well, the drain cover should have been VGB complaint and screwed on properly. If not, not up to code. Either way, it was dumb of the kid.

Did his whole body or just hand
So it's called "Peer Pressure" even though still can't lie it was dumb
The grate is only held in place by four phillips screws, someone that determined could easily take them off with just a Swiss army pocket tool.
