Yes, a million times yes. I would love to see warcry battle reports. The small skirmish sized games fit so much better with a more narrative-heavy battle report in the style you do. You can more easily have models feel like characters. Even without all of the fancy effects you put in, I just love seeing battle reports from the perspective of a battle unfolding rather than the more common perspective of a play-by-play of two coaches pushing their sports team around the field.
This actually looks like something my pea brain could wrap around! Price aside, those models are really cool, and the low time barrier is really inviting! There is a Warhammer club on campus, I'll have to see if they play warcry : )
It's absolutely one of, if not the, best games GW puts out. It's fairly simple and intuitive, and it has a lot of depth in the list building step. The Ally system lets you take a cool mini from another warband and slot them into your own, granting you their strengths or making up for a weakness in your own. But listbuilding is one of my favorite things. If it isn't yours, you can absolutely take one box of something, put it on the table, and have fun.
I'm an old WHFB player that likes 40k and loathes AoS, but I also hate Killteam and LOVE Warcry. Would love to see more Warcry from a prolific channel as yours 🙂
After bouncing off both editions of Killteam, WarCry is the only GWS I can get my board game friends into. It’s a great time and it’s a fast play. I’d love to see more WarCry videos for y’all.
I would love to see you guys make custom warbands and gangs for Warcry, Killteam and Necromunda . Especially if you guys did a campaign battle report series
I would love to see you guys do more skirmish games, especially Necromunda, I think you guys could do fantastic modular terrain and a fun campaign for it
The latest Warcry starter box contains two previously released Underworlds teams, the Crimson Court and Xandire's Truthseekers. Both sets of excellent models are available direct from GW but if you can find the right retailer the Starter box is cheaper. Plus you get a few pieces of accent terrain.
Great stuff. I've been wanting to try Warcry ever since they moved away from the 1st Edition Chaos focus, and I think I might be able to send this to a few friends to convince them to give it a shot.
your story of balance in early warcry really rings true for me, had a lot of fun with my Splintered Fang fighting the other warcry warbands, but as soon as i went up against an Ironjawz warband i just couldnt do a thing as they had so much damn health per model
Really interested in these smaller games. Smaller table requirements make it so much easier to get a game in especially in old tiny uk houses like mine! Have you tried one page rules skirmish? I would be curious how it compares
Warcry is for everyone. Sad that it's on the more expensive side, but once you have the Core Set, warbands themselves are fairly priced. Please make more Warcry content
No bias. I just feel Warcry is absolutely perfect/brilliant/creative, etc. I painted the heart of ghur terrain and feel immense pride when playing over it. The shattered storm vault ravaged lands set - said to be more boring - still feels so thematic and fun!
I bought into this at release but only had the chance to play my first games this month, and it's *so* good. It fixes my #1 problem with Kill Team, Necromunda, Infinity, the old Skirmish rules and probably other skirmish games, which is binary life/death - one wound models that die to one lucky dice roll. There are still moments where a single model can score a one hit kill, but it's usually either a) a superpowerful attacker, b) a super-weak defender, or c) the result of a non-spammable ability. And because games are so short, going for kills isn't necessarily the right strategy - there are other ways to block enemies from completing objectives. My main two criticisms are that a lot of abilities seem copy/pasted between warbands, which might harm some of the long-term appeal of the game, and the runemark system is a lousy way of describing which models have access to which abilities - use your words, GW, or at least your numbers. I'm printing up reference sheets before each game so I can see which abilities I can actually use without pausing the game to scour each unit card. Oh, and also, Stormcast are just ludicrously tough, I mean geez, guys.
As a necromunda player first, it was hard back in 2017 and 2019 to the follow the rule set. But now with the new core rulebook and better re-tooling of the rules, its much easier to get in. The only thing that's hard is campaign play since there's more book keeping on that end
I haven't watched yet but the answer is Blood Bowl, if this video isnt about Blood Bowl then Tabletop Time has failed to journalism. Ive now watched the video and it is about my second favourite GW game. I play Warcry with my 7 year old, he pretty much understands the rules. I always find it amazing that Warcry easy enough for kids to play, yet nuanced enough to provide challenge for adults. Its a great system.
The old GW game that I'd love to see you take a shot at playing is Legends of the Old West...it kind of perfected the older LotR skirmish rules from early on in that ranges history. The old Warhammer Historicals stuff was awesome and the other small games were fun
When I saw the title: "BEST wargame Game Workshop", I thought this was going to be a video on Mordheim. As for Warcry, I got a bit of a sour taste for it from the two games I played. The first game I played ever was with a random assortment of Nighthaunts I had brought in vs a meta list Sigmarines, who one shot all my units every turn while I could do 0 damage to them. My second game was against another beginner, her first game and my second game ever. We had a guy who was over seeing us as neither of us knew the rules, however he spent most of his time on his phone and getting annoyed when we asked questions. I lost that game and felt cheated because I did not know the game ended on turn four. During turn four, I controlled one objectives with 2 points, but the center objective had been taken by her tree elves and was worth three points. The final objective was controlled by both of us, giving us 2 points each. I expected the game to continue after turn four and knew that in order to stay in the game I needed to get the center back or at least contest it. I took my guy off of his objective, only to be told a minute later that the game was over. I lost by one point, where as if I had kept him on the objective I would have won by one point. 2020 happened and I was unable to get any more games in of Warcry, and as of right now I don't really want to give it another try just yet.
@@TabletopTime For the first game, yes, 100% as those Stormcast were just broken. The second game came down to me not understanding the game and getting blindsided by the referee declaring the game was simply over without warning. I had bought the Skaven card pack that same night intending to try again with a different faction but Covid happened. Love ya'll's videos.
Been wanting to really get into Warcry, despite for some weird reason my LGS doesn't carry much of just it (it's mostly 40k as expected). I've heard mostly good things about the game itself in this current version. My only weird issue is I'm not that into the Chaotic tribe or super-monsters look or vibe of it. It's like the Underworlds sets are more of what I want, but I need them in the Warcry rule system. Also, I don't want more Stormcast Eternals that are featured in the starter box set. If I could get another Skaven vs something (with obviously new sprues), I'd be happy. Wouldn't be opposed to a Slaves to Darkness subfaction warband vs something like...elf or Cities of Sigmar related.
My group calls Warcry the best game that GW doesn't know what to do with. It's stupidly easy to learn, plays fast, the warbands each feel unique and special, the campaign rules with their narrative structure are *chef's kiss*. It's what Kill Team should have been but instead we got triangles and circles Lord give me strength. They could make it a quick and easy pick-up game with an awesome price point that just flies off the shelves, but instead they overprice and undersell it - especially compared to the AoS and 40k starters - and give it one of the most p*spoor Starter Sets in any GW release. It's almost like they don't want it to succeed because they're afraid it will become too popular. Is that even a thing? What my group would really love is Warcry: Horus Heresy Edition. Give us a set of Stat cards for Tactical Marines, Breachers, Assault Marines, Veterans, Scouts, Terminators, Centurions and the like, a set of unique Abilities for each Legion and a set of Campaigns and Missions that recreates scenes from iconic battles, ship boarding actions, skirmishes in temples, city fighting, etc and you're done. After all, when it comes to low model count individual model skirmish games AoS has this and Underworlds, 40k has Kill Team and Necromunda and Horus Heresy has.... nothing. Zone Mortalis is the closest, but that's still unit based and turn-based activations. Warcry is just too good to not expand into another universe.
The kill team games was fun to watch and if yall are looking into smaller table top games. Why have you not done necromunda!? Would love to see some munda content on your channel
i really wanna get back into warcry, i havent played since the first couple months of the original release, but hardly anyone in my area is interested in it sadly

Great review! I have bought four of the boxes, Catacombs, Red Harvest, Heart of Ghur, and Nightmare Quest. I've played 20 or so games and while I love the models and older terrain, I'm not really a fan of the game mechanics. "GW releases a great game and kills it immediately with unbalanced expansions and high price of entry for an unknown game to push away players" Feel like I've heard that many, many times 😔
You guys should do videos where you make custom armies for age of sigmar like you do 40k. just imagine loyal chaos warriors or chaos ogres!
