- Why is Nechung Allowed but Not Dorje Shugden?
Nechung is a worldly spirit of the Gyalpo class, most likey from Persia, who tried to block the coming of Buddhism into Tibet, and finally Guru Rinpoche has to wrathfully oath-bound him.
This video clearly demonstrates the contradictions Tibetan Govt overtly exhibits.
They worship Nechung the spirit yet Dorje Shugden's practice is suppresseed as they claim he is a spirit.
They ask you not to seek advice of spirits as it damages one's refuge vows, yet they are seeking advice.
They ask you not to pray to spirits, yet they set up Nechung's chapel right along the lingkor where hundreds of people religiously circumambulate daily.
There's one policy for them and another for Shugden practitioners.
They put up letters to ban Shugden practitioners yet they promote Nechung the spirit to the lay people.
Why is it they may worship spirits, but we may not worship Dorje Shugden which they have wrongly labeled a spirit?
How can Nechung who has limited clairvoyance advise Dalai Lama to ban Shugden?
How can Nechung with his limited powers as a spirit have the abilities to see the level of Shugden? Why does the Dalai Lama need Nechung's advice at all?
Trijang Rinpoche clearly states Shugden is Manjushri. Yet Nechung says Shugden is not. Who do we listen to? The Root Guru of all Gurus, Trijang Rinpoche or a spirit called Nechung?
The Tibetan Govt in Dharamsala gives many contradictions that do not make sense to those who are learned, can debate and refute. Hence all requests to discuss the Shugden issue with the Dalai Lama and Tibetan Govt have been refused.
Please contemplate on these contradictions.
This film presented is not meant to disparage the Dalai Lama nor Nechung. It is to bring a point across that the policies from Tibetan Govt must be fair and Dalai Lama should never ban, restrict, or speak against Dorje Shugden's practice. Dalai Lama has the right to worship Nechung, so the followers of Trijang Rinpoche have the right to worship Shugden.
Shugden's practice was estimated clearly to be around 4 million strong before 1959. Shugden was not a minor practice but a leading force within the Buddhism of Tibet.

Yes...it is absolutely true that you can Nechung a spirit or diety. Nechung who has taken a vow to protect tibetan people. So we consider Nechung as a friend or help but we never take refuge and consider him equal to three jewels.
There are various level and designation in spirit or diety form. The place of Nechung is like a chief of staff or general, but the place or designation of Dorjee Shugden or Gabbar Singh is like a sweeper to the other low levl rank diety. That's why Dalai Lama urge people of Dorjee Shugden community to not to treat Shugden as equals to Buddha. Dalai Lama also urged that if they really wanted to follow this spirit Dorjee Shugden then they can worship him seperately away from bhuddhism....

There are no two brains that are exactly alike ... but there is only one MIND. It is the Kali Yuga, not a good time to partition the Vajrayana or any other faith. It is not a good time for competition, we are on our way to the age of cooperation. Peace be with all ... and May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness ... May all beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering ... May all beings never lose the happiness beyond suffering ... A major difference is that His Holiness the Dalai Lama and other Buddhists do not worship Nechung as a Buddha. He is consulted in his capacity as a spirit protector and is only secondary to educated decision. Whereas New Kadampas have elevated shugden, a malignant spirit by most accounts, to the status of a Buddha, thereby tarnishing the very heart of Buddhism! The second point is that Nechung as a dharma protector is ecumenical whereas shugden has been and is used a center for sectarian division and violence among the Tibetan Buddhist schools!- Not a very Buddhist thing to do and hence His Holiness's objection!

At the end of his life Buddha said that he confessed that he is sinful man, and tried to find truth but can't find, the meaning of life is empty for him. Buddha tried to find how universe had been created, where we had come from.

Who is Shungen Dorje? Why there's so much fuzz about that spirit? Isn't it obvious that there aroused a quorel among Tibetan monks and lay people practitioners, concerning worship of that spirit as was predicted by H.H.Dalay Lama? Didn't Shungen Dorje's followers kill lamas and monks in the past, in the name of that so called"Manjusri's Wrathful Emanation" by Trijang Rinpoche? Dalay Lama was praying and practicing Shugen Dorje but one day he eliminated that practice himself seeing it harmful,no?

The Dalai Lama gave up Shugden in the seventies, not early eighties (as you claim here). Trijang Rinpoche was still alive. "The Yellow Book" was the main reason, I don´t think the Dalai Lama needed Nechung´s advice to make up his mind.

Who is Trijang Rinpoche compared to Guru Rinpoche. Guru Rinpoche founded Buddhism in Tibet in 9AD.
Nechung was appointed and entrusted to protect Buddhism in Tibet by Guru Rinpoche. Trijang Rinpcohe is one of the great Lama of Geluk in 20th century.

For non-Buddhists watching this video and thinking (1) Buddhism is strange, and (2) the Buddhists commenting on this video are nuts, let me explain very briefly what is happening, what is the dispute, and why things are the way they are.
Like Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, Buddhists often identify themselves by their religious denomination. Tantric Buddhism (aka Vajrayana) is a group of religious denominations which came late into the picture where there was a lot of suppression of Buddhist teachings. Local religions, fertility cults, and Hindu beliefs and practices joined together in a very unusual and colorful way. For Christians, think of it this way: You are aware of Catholicism and Protestantism . . . and you are also aware of Mormonism. All of them are Christian, all have disputes about Christian teaching, and all have their own practices. To other Buddhists, Vajrayana is kind of like Mormonism. It has controversial practices even to some of its adherents.
In the above video, the oracle has summoned a spirit to take over his body. Others in the audience are also succumbing to spirit possession. Most Buddhist monks would caution that allowing an entity to take over your person is unwise; you do not know who is coming in for a visit, or to stay. But then again - this is the oracle. Different person, different rules.
Now about Dorje Shugden. He is considered by many to be a powerful bodhisattva -- essentially, he is a powerful angel. The issue is whether one considers him to be a righteous angel (like Michael) or a fallen one (like Lucifer). The controversy really developed in the 20th Century, and there is plenty online which discusses it. The current Dalai Lama sees Dorje Shugden as a fallen angel.

Your system is not Gelug, new Kadampa or even Buddhist at that. 'cause you go against refuge only to three jewels. Your system is at best a 'PARASITIC GELUG'. For you want to maintain the respect and image gained by Je Tsongkhapa's great tradition and his profound teachings but at the same time you want to establish a different system of worshiping a spirit as the core of your system. You want to replace Gelug Dharmapala appointed by Tsongkhapa himself(Kyibu Sum) Six Armed Mahakala, Namsey, Dhamchen Choegyal, with Dhoegyal a mundane spirit who is in violation of his oath. and as for Yidam, you guys emphasis on Neljorma instead of SangDeJig sum.
But the bottom line is Please do practice and worship Dhoegyal as you please (which you have been doing), But don't come to His Holiness teaching, empowerment, ordinations. That is all he ask of you guys.
And most of all, please don't try to convince us with all your wild twisted lies and fairy tales and promotion of Dhoegyal such as these days claiming Dhoegyal is the reincarnation of Je Rinpoche etc which even Phabongkhapa and Kyabje Trichang Rinpoche would be speechless if they were to hear that!!!.

Shugden worship was an individual choice and a group faith till in early 1970s some leaders of the beluga tradition tasked by pawongkapa n disciples like trijang, song n Mongol lama in Delhi fired their base. One difference, nechung, palden Lamont, etc., take a supporting role. Shugden attempts a primary role; n make claims that defy rationality--like claiming to be one who taught grandma to suck eggs. Leave a will for future-- pls stop retroactive wills.

I'm just a normal person, since i do not know what is right or wrong, fuck all spirits and their desires. Pray to Buddha or Christ and you'll be fine.

But we dont consider Nechung more important than the Three Jewel. Nechung serves HHDL not the other way round. You spirit worshipper place statue of your spirit above the Three Jewels. The biggest statue, the biggest Thangka in your monastery is that of the Spirit. Though in recent times, because of our logic based positive criticism you are apparently making some effort in the right direction. Very good. Just dont forget the image that you have created of Buddhist monks in US is that of placard hoarding, screaming, zombie like chanting men and women. You are all insult to Buddha.
