When i went to go take my polygraph it was a horrible experience. I was there for almost 5 hours. With only one chance to go to the rr. Then after all that he tells me i failed and that he wanted to know where i was moving the drugs. And kept on insisting as to who i do it for and where. It’s a ridiculous part of the process and shouldn’t be done for the process to get into BP.

I'm going through the same thing bro it was my first time applying fresh out of college going through the process with ease then came poly, I've never done anything wrong in my life in regards to crime and drugs, I went in the first time got hooked up to the machine and asked the questions then the guy totally changed his attitude and started screaming at me accusing me of drug use and distribution I knew I've never done such a thing so I kept my cool and denied the statements he was making, I felt it more like an interrogation, after like 3 hours of this he then told me if I was willing to come back for a second time I said yes long story short the second guy was more chill he didn't scream at me like the first guy and I felt confident going in the second time after the test was done he then told me I failed yet again and it was that same question after he asked if I was hiding anything and I told him I wasn’t I mean if I were why would I be lying let alone applying for a federal career, two days after that I got the email that I had to wait two years to reapply to say that I'm bummed out is an understatement it really hurts you mentally because if you know your a good person then why are you being accused of something you've never done, I don't want to say polys are a joke but they are a letdown to say the least

You know.... By the time recruits get to the stage where polygraphs are administered, I think they've already gotten a good idea of who they want and who they don't want. I think up to that point, all potential recruits submitted tons of information, and BP has their own criteria which isn't made public. While all of the recruits up to that point satisfy published standards, their hidden standards already flagged some people. Not necessarily "bad" people, but people that don't fit their criteria for one reason or another. Relationship status, job patterns, political stances, etc. The polygraph is a great way to just cut them there without having to reveal the hidden standards. You can tell the truth and fail or, conversely, lie and pass. Or combination of both. Hell, they could KNOW you're lying, but if you fit the model of what they want in a recruit, they'll pass you. Polygraphs aren't an exact science and departments know that. It's one step where they can cut you without really telling you why. I wouldn't doubt that that's intentional.
I hope you don't mind me shooting you a little advice, bro. I grew up in a bad part of Los Angeles and I got into some heavy bullshit. Drugs and eventually homelessness. Violence. But I became an EMT. I just saved up $900 selling oregano to my peers and did three months of EMT school and my life took OFF from there. Paramedic school, fire dept. Eventually, I got into radiology and cardiology. I'm 39 now. I heard you didn't get your GED. I dropped out of high school sophomore year. I lied on job applications about having my diploma (nobody checks) until I went back to school for radiology. I got my GED at 32 years old right before applying. I was tired of lying. I say stick with whatever bullshit job you got for now, earn your GED. It's honestly not TOO difficult exam for most if you put in a little study time. I heard you wanted to be a fireman. You TOTALLY still can. You're 28/29, so you carry much more maturity than most of the 18 year old EMT's. And it's only 3 months of school. Get your GED, get your EMT, and you're in the PERFECT position to apply for fire department.
I'm currently saving to buy my first investment rental. I'm shooting for millionaire status. But I'll be honest.... I watched your videos because I'm ALSO super tempted to join BP. But I've lived a life of a LOT of lies before I cleaned up my act and I've got to do SOME lying to cover my past and preserve my medical career. 😅 BEST OF LUCK TO YOU, BRO

As someone who has gone through the federal hiring process, e-qip is brutal and soul sucking experience I waited several months for a public trust clearance let alone the secret that typically required for border patrol and cbpo's
You should look at maybe the TSA brother their clearance requirement is significantly lower with atleast comparable starting pay and no polygraph.

The hardest part for a mexican American, is they likely at some point have had illegal family, helped out an illegal or something, so it's easy to fail that portion. The drug use, they just want to know it wasn't recent. If you smoked weed 2 years ago, but it says it has to be over 5 and you go in and say you didn't, then yeah you're going to fail. They don't care what you've done, they just want to know you're honest. Telling them you've done drugs, been arrested and all that isn't going to get you flunked, it's the lies. Bro, don't feel bad I passed everything the S.I. the medical side, the p.t. exam, even the polygraph yes even the polygraph but then my background investigator and O.P.R. denied me my job offer in the end. And @ the time I was a Department of Defense Police Officer for the USAF as a security forces member, with a security clearance. My clearance wasn't TSCI but in any event they didn't hire. I come to terms that if ur hispanic or latino they will scrutinize you to the fullest. Since the majority of cagers in the CBP rank have been Latinos, and now we have to pay the price for what other pendejos have done in the past while working for CBP.
