today on genshin impact, we realize that our friends might be closer than we initially thought!
still supersimping for candace in this, obviously zzz gonna be building her in a video very soon for sure! super exciting stuff though, can't believe the storyline isn't over yet for sumeru! the climax of this quest is going to be absolutely NUTS.
again, yes the exploration will be out eventually, but not before the entirety of sumeru is out! i want to make it a great video and definitely do not want it to be rushed.

ok also what if paimon was the god of time and also used all her power to reset the world. that's why she became tiny again just like the aranara/nahida? IT KINDA MAKES SENSE TO ME

Something I think the Sumeru archon-quest line really nails is it’s use of personal and world stakes.
Every worldly dilemma is tied to some sort of personal stake to make us actually care about solving the problems and become connected wholeheartedly with the plot that’s unfolding.
1. Needing to cure irminsul. They introduce us to Collei and Dunyarzad and give time for us to develop a friendship with them. They then reveal that both of them are dying from Eleazar and inform us that the only way to save them is curing Irminsul which would also save both the forest and the desert.
2. Stopping the sages: through the story we begin to care about Dunyarzad and Nahida, as the plot unfolds we learn that the sages were behind the samsara that nearly killed Dunyarzad and are keeping Nahida prisoner.
Additionally we begin to see the levels of depravity the sages are willing to go to to achieve their goals which makes the desire to bring them down even greater which catalyzes into the motivation for the final act “Crush the Sages and save our god”
Compare this to Teppei in Inazuma and you can see just how big of an improvement they’ve made in their writing.
I think the sumeru gang (candance, dehya, alhaitham and cyno) is the best "ragtag found family" that genshin has shown so far, with a great group dynamic and build-up. Them acting on their own at first really exemplifies their different values and methods for investigation as well as not trusting each other, but over time as more answers are revealed, they become more empathetic, understanding and really stuck by one another towards the end. The tension was also enough to develop their characters (cyno especially) but not too much that it would become overly prominent (the chasm gang suffered a little bit from excessive tension but was overall executed alright in the end). But ofc this is just my opinion ^^
Yes! The scenes in Candace’s house really sell the “strangers from different backgrounds uniting for a common goal” for them. The Sumeru gang and even the traveler are all characters that typically work alone with little to no help from outsiders, which makes their camaraderie feel more special.
It reminds me of the prologue with Jean, Diluc and Venti, but the difference with the Sumeru gang is that they have a specific dynamic with each other rather than just the traveler (They did interact with one another, but there isn’t a huge growth in their understanding of each other except for maybe the gang’s reaction to Venti being an archon) In Sumeru, some of the scenes revolve around the characters’ shared dialogue, and allow their relationships to grow rather than keeping them the same the whole time. Their interactions are more fleshed out than characters in the previous chapters. Just more proof of Sumeru having amazing writing

To be fair, the stakes for the Chasm were higher overall considering death was literally looming above their heads
I love the dynamic of cyno and Al haitham, super typical brothers annoying eachother vibes plus Candace bringing the big sister energy. All of their personalities fit together so nicely found family is a perfect description for them I really hope we just get more and more content with all of them

Cyno went from not caring about Kusanali's existence to actually calling her "our god" in the end tho! Brings me back to how Keqing used to be really against Morax but then appreciated how hard an archon's work is in the end. Is that an electro thingy? I CAN'T wait for the next patch to burn the akademiya.
It would be funny if Ei will be the one to take care of her rebel son tho. I think a little asian mom slipper slap will do.
It would be cool tho if Ei came to talk to scara, cause she is one of the main reasons why he's like this today. Imagine a scene where she tells us that she will take responsibility for the very thing she created

I don't think that Cyno didn't care the sages made it look like she wasn't doing anything and no one even seem to know that she existed because when the traveler said that it was Nahida who was using her powers to save the village he was very surprised and that's one of the reasons why he was so angry at the sages once he found out that she was doing things to help her people
Honestly teared up when they revealed that Nahida is actually Rukkhadevata. She's been with her people all this time and has sacrificed so much of her power, yet they don't want to accept her. :(

If you actually look at King Deshret's robots and Candace's shield, they both share the same technology. Also make perfect sense since she is direct descendant from Royal bloodline.

people really don't know how good of friends cyno and tighnari really are, first of all it should be pretty obvious they know each other and that reason is collei, it's cyno who left collei to tighnari, and let's not forget collei is a girl with
1. illness that requires medical check up all the time
2. was experimented on by evil people which is causing her having flashbacks to this day, and she's scared of anyone touching her,
it is revealed in tighnari's character stories that they became friends after tighnari became ver popular with students (his animal features, it was also touched upon in tighnari's story quest when we can see that other students treated him like a zoo attraction), that cyno thought it's sus, but he realised soon that that's not the case, their whole relation is based on trust, they have special communication method that requires electro and dendro to even be able to read it (sumeru furinture), they play cardgame together and they wrote a forest guide together, tighnari who rearly leaves the forest goes to cyno to patch him up, so yes they're very very good friends

Sure I’m not the only one who wanted to see the scene at 02:07:25 play out instead of black screen white text, right? I know it’s a discussion about some heavy content, but it still sounds pretty cozy. You know, Alhaitham sitting on a chair, Cyno leaning on the wall, Paimon burying her face in snacks and a tea.
Could've been another dragonspine event(2nd) character interaction. You can't tell me that one wasn't cozy XD
After spending half an hour taking pictures of Al Haitham (for research) I'm finally done with the quest. Now I can watch it again. 2hrs I know it's gonna be good.
Also what Paimon read in Al Haithams book was Newton's first law of motion I think. They just made it sound so complicated.
That's because, in its original Latin description, Newton's First Law of Motion WAS overly complicated/verbose lmao. A lot of early maths and science were written like this, heck almost all literature was written like that back in those times
They really got me hyped for the next Archon quest with this one. It's so interesting! They got me so invested in bringing down the Sages and the Fatui Harbingers. And I hope Kusanali will get the recognition she deserves! Any Kusanali wanters?

There are two types of it. The ones like Gouba and Aranara who also got their memories and thinking capacity shrunk like their bodies and then there's Nahida and Paimon type. If we do keep Paimon along these lines as that of Nahida, then these two have not lost their thinking capacity. But Paimon also has memories of teyvat because she is definitely a really good tour guide. I think this capacity of shrinking lies on a spectrum. Some lose their thinking, others lose memories. Most of them lose their original form
I think Traveler said that "It's the only lead" about ressurection of the Scarlet King(King Deshret) because they didn't trust Cyno at the time
EDIT: a lot of times Lumine didn't share info was because of initial distrust in Cyno and Al-Haitham actions and intentions. She would have no way knowing that at the time. So she does that at the very end. At least that's how I see it
the traveler has a track record of witholding information, yeah! if you think about it, they've never told anyone they're from another world (those who know learned it on their own), or any details about what their sibling is up to, being... abyss order ROYALTY and all that. this happens even with the players: as much as we know about them, there's still A LOT we don't, like their backstory or why they use a nickname when only we and their sibling know their real name...
hell, we didn't even know that the traveler had been looking into khaenri'ah until We Will Be Reunited dropped that bomb on us + the whole "woke up to a sea of fire" thing. traveler is perfectly capable to lie and act like they don't know shit if they feel anything but complete trust for someone.
(al-haitham is the first one to call us out on it though, which is kinda hilarious ngl 😂takes one to know one)

If not false, then extremely secretive at the very least. We genuinely know nothing about traveler's life before coming to Teyvat. She has lived for probably thousands of years. She must know a lot of stuff that she never discloses.

Also, yes I agree that Paimon might be the God of Time smol-ified because of exhausting their powers. Dendro archon and Aranara aren't the only gods/beings like that; Guoba too.

I really like how they made these two Acts. 3 was very action-packed and intense, so 4 being a bit chill and more about relationship building and lore drops, is great. Act 5 will sure to be an exciting one! Very looking forward to the next patch as well

You just made me realize something when you said what happened to rukkhadavata/nahida is similar to what happens to aranaras when they turn into seed, this is the same thing that happened to guoba and this confirms when gods uses too much powers they get smaller and lose most of their memories, this make paimon really sus and maybe the theory of the unknown god being paimon wasn't so crazy after all
I feel like this quest could be great for a "take a shot everytime scarlet king is said" challenge

YES ok I am so glad you (and I) played this quest after finishing the Aranara one! It's SUCH good foreshadowing and context for what happened to Nahida, and why Nahida herself doesn't even remember she used to be someone else...
(That and also it's p much what happened to Guoba, which is WILD... the god damn stove god arc was foreshadowing for an archon quest, somehow)

When you peak into the achievements, for now we got the desert series 1, so there will be even more to the desert map and achievements! Lots of lore to come with it for sure.
And I thought Nahida was the smol bean of previous archon, since there were talks of ressurection all over Sumeru withing the 3.0 patch already. Like, the sages stood in exact place previous archon died and that's where they found her. So it's the same archon, just reverted to a baby for now. Additionally, the statue was making me wonder - the baby in there was Rukkadevata or Kussanali? Must have been Rukkadevata on the statue, but again, Kussanali looks exactly like her and only Makoto and Egg were twin gods.

It just occurred to me this is following a startlingly similar format to the Inazuma quests. I.e. flee main area, meet up with and form an alliance with marginalized group, return and attack the main city's authority.

Either they’re trying to do the Inazuma Archon Quest again, but better. Or it’s a hint that the rest of the Archon Quests are going to follow the same format, but with different details.

Talking about cliffhangers, I read back in 3.0 about Dunyarzad's name and lore, apparently in the 1001 nights tale, she's the sister of a princess that prevented a death through the tactic of cliffhanger storytelling.

Also I love the huge pyramid as well! Looks so amazing and it's even bigger inside than it already seems. Maybe you can do a video on the pyramid exploration? You'll explore it with the world quest "Golden Slumber" as well as the world quest "Old Notes and New Friends" after completing golden slumber (you'll need to wait for server reset). Maybe that's something for the second channel like aranara quest? There's tons of rooms, puzzles and underground exploration. Plus some really impressive chambers! It's mad scenic.

only downside of doing the quests is that you permanently get rid of the orange swirl above the pyramid :/
can't watch the video yet but here to say i like the title for it, very clever
the mondstadt event is very relaxing and chill. as for the archaeology world quest, i enjoyed it and i know i'm not the only one who did but i don't think it's everyone's cup of tea. if you enjoy learning more about king deshret's civilization. and some of the npcs in that quest are very cool (not tirzad, but he's alright by the end). you'll also see some beautiful ruins doing that quest. none of the puzzles are very hard i don't think. just take your time with that quest to enjoy it i think :)

A lot of people also says that Rukkhadevata was Guoba-fied to Kusanali cuz like Guoba she exhausted her powers to save her people as Guoba did to Liyue and forgot their memories of the past as well, so maybe it applies to other people LIKE PERHAPS PAIMON?? HMMMMMMM that cud explain why she knows so much but forgot her past memories/doesn't tell lumine/aether for some reason??

Alright so if I'm following the lore, the reincarnation of the dead Sumeru characters are as followed:
Scarlet King(King Deshret) - Alhaitham. I feel like this is true because Alhaitham's eyes have a similarity between the eye of the Scarlet King(King Deshret)
Kasala(The guy who had the same hood as Cyno) - Cyno. Pretty self explanatory.
Goddess of flowers - Nilou. Also pretty self explanatory.
Greater Lord Rukkhadevata - Nahida(Lesser Lord Kusanali). Rukk is actually Nahida but smol-
So yeah, that's pretty cool! Anyways, I really enjoyed the video(As always)

the two version of scarlet king name, i suppose it's easier to say scarlet king than the other one idk how to spell it right, probably for us to remember later on because in non-voiced world quest they use the other term.... it's just to remind us they are the same...
as for wether the current goddess is the same as the former one...i personally think nahida is still different deity because if she isn't why ganyu and the other archon only acknowledge venti and zhongli as the og, not just that in zhongli story in his profile the og is just him and venti. she also doesnt have "dei" in her cons while the two og archon do. idk at this point all we can do is wait for what is the truth. there is a lot of pararel in the sumeru archon quest, we'll learn more as we beat the shit out of scaramouche as well.
