I was an avid collector in South Florida as an 80's kid (Hollywood - still collect comics and hit Tates and/or Past Present Future every now and again, but, ah, currently in a bit of a financial sitch). Determined to get my friend Evan, a friend from baseball, into comics, I took him to Superheros Unlimited (LCS). I ended up picking several books I'm quite proud of from that shop - and loved those guys. However, Evan...? First time I took him (and his father being of some means): did Evan pick up the entire current release wall with the $100 bucks he had? Nope. Evan immediately gravitated to Wolverine and bought BOTH Hulk 180 and 181. His FIRST time in a comic shop. Knowing nothing other than me telling him Wolverine was cool... Don't remember the condition, don't know what he ended up doing with them, but... God damn it, man.
Had NO idea that Conan #1 from the 70s goes for SO low... total craziness that something that old and part of popular culture isn't up there with your other heavy hitters from the decade. Maybe if Arnold decides to commit to playing 'King Conan' we'll get an uptick in sales to increase the value. In the meantime... perfect opportunity to add a copy to the PC.
@@Boxingbearjust like most comics of that era… Hulk #181 ain’t rare either over 17000 copies on census compared to Conan which has under 7000, H#181 has 2 x the amount of 9.8’s… I get it supply and demand but the crazy price differences on some books are just that, CRAZY 👍
Truly appreciate the work you guys put in for the videos but..ya Never mentioned the Canadian $1 price variant of Transformers #1 that Comics the cream of the Transformers #1 crop only 180 total graded!! Only 27 9.8's 24 9.6's I have a cgc 6.5 and there's only 6 of them
I got Moon Knight #1 in a dollar bin. I skipped Spider-Boy #1, a 10 year old kid saw that book and said it was a fake Spider-Man. Kids know what's up. I got G.I. Joe #1 in a collection of 50 comics for $25. You guys get ripped off! Spawn #1? I paid 5 bucks for that one! I got Dazzler #1 in a dollar bin too! I never thought it would be worth anything.
Conan #1 was the first comic I ever heard about as a kid that people were paying money for after it came out. I remember two years after it came out being told people were paying five dollars for #1, most of which had to do with the popularity of Barry Windsor Smith at the time.
Totally agree with you guys on Conan 1. How can this be SO low still??? Classic Cover of a very well-known character. 50+ year-old. 1/3 the number of slabs compared to ASM 129 (4 year newer book)...and it's less than half the cost? Is Punisher a bigger character than Conan? Maybe??? But still...way fewer slabs, older book and it's way less money? Just sayin'. And Batman 227 - awesome Neal Adams goodness - this book and 251 are huge holes in my PC and definitely on my want list.
I think 85 percent of golden, and sliver age , especially B.M.and A. S. M. Are very desirable, and I'm glad I put them away for today!! My better half said you're not getting any thing for them books!! So I took D. D. One and sold it, and when the check came in from the auction I told her "here, buy yourself a new car!! She believes me now!! 🤗
Anyone in SoFla: was in Tates yesterday - they had roughly 20 raw copies of Dazzler 1 on a wall. Didnt paw through them all, don't remember what they were asking, but plenty of high grade copies available.
I know I'm 3 days late to the comments, but the What If Season 2 trailer dropped and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears that Talisman is coming to the MCU. Certainly not an A+ character, but raw copies of Alpha Flight 19 can be had for a few bucks.
I paid $80 for my Batman #227 which is probably around a 7.0. One of my favorites of all time and a solid investment. People will.always be after this book.
Classic George Perez??? That's CLEARLY by Mike Zeck. This is the problem with your show. You don't know your artists by style. That comes with years of experience, so you might as well do some research first next time. In fact, you should mention EVERY artist and writer of books you show. I shouldn't even have to tell you that.
I still have my Wolverine from when I bought it at the LCS. Best 60 cents I ever spent!

For some reason I bought doubles of that book and still have them. 👍
Isn't the original Secret Wars cover by Mike Zeck, not Perez?
Yep.
Yes- Zeck
Perez was the Crisis On Infinite Earths guy!
Zoro put up the wrong Red Sonja! Check out the latest one at sideshow 💎
I like the Inhyuk covers in the Wolvie #1 composition.
Secret Wars # 1 is classic Mike Zeck…not George Perez.
Experts…🙄
Glad to see Transformers, G.I. Joe, and Conan on the list. Thanks Tom and Gem Mint!
Gem: Mike Zeck did the classic art for Secret Wars, not George Perez
Secret Wars #1 cover is by Mike Zeck, not Perez.

It is undervalued. But truthfully, there is no shortage of copies either.

really nice work guys. we really appreciate your weekly top 10s
Love that Batman 227. Great Neal Adams Cover. Nice Video. Thanks for sharing.

Batman 227 is a perfect storm of N Adams tribute cover, the Bat & goth sensibility.
No hatin' but...
House of Mystery post 175.
Love those gothic covers like House of Secrets 89 and 95 and covers of Sinister House of Secret Love! So very 1970s!
Bought 4 copies each of the whole mini series cover price from Funny Business in NYC back in '82.

I picked up a Dazzler #1 the error book along with an X-Men 130 early direct a few months ago!
Hello. Terrific content. Some prices will go up and there are some prices that will go down. Have a good day.

The Red Sonja premium format you are showing is the old one , not the new one .
Good list.

The spawn 1, black and white Variant is the one you want

This list has some fantastic books.
Great show today
King Conan was Old Man Logan before Old Man Logan.
I paid $80 for my Batman #227 which is probably around a 7.0. One of my favorites of all time and a solid investment. People will.always be after this book.
I would not assume Doctor Strange number one is not a heart book, many COLLECTOR‘s are looking for the higher grade Mark jewelers, CGC version
People sleep on Marvel Premiere 3 which begins Barry Smith and Frank Brunner's Dr. Strange run that predates Dr, Strange 1
The only problem with Batman #227 is that Robin is on the cover. Otherwise perfect.
What is happening with Defenders 66, why so many Ebay sales this week??
#10 i need to get a copy of that book.....it's so good
BATMAN#227 IS AN AMAZING COVER
Doctor Strange rules in terms of what a character is capable of the cover. Doctor Strange one is vibrant other than that I’ll leave it at that.-
I wish I had got that conan book a few years ago , my mom was going get it , but I told her cost too much.
I just picked up a raw dr strange 1 for $34 😎
I own all these except the Batman comic.
Trans 1 should def be worth more.
Conan...solid
14:11 "...classic George Perez..." What? George Perez? (SMH in disgust).

Gem Mint Collectibles > Mint Hunter Comics
man, they have another type of content, there is no way you can compare them
at least mint hunter would know who did the cover for secret wars 1
Hi there guys I just need help selling my comic collection so if can help me that would be great and ofcouse you will be pay for your service

stop trying to get prices up , 99 per cent of comics are falling ,, stop these lie lie lie , there no shortage of comics , over supply
