Japanese Bluegrass Original TV Show

This is the original TV show I taped over the internet back around the year 2000. It was lost for a while and then I found this on a DVD packed away. It is not the full show, but most of it. Great bluegrass music by the Japanese Bluegrass Band

Greetings from Durham, North Carolina, USA. These guys are amazing! Especially considering the language differences, and stylistic differences between two cultures. They're all accurately interpreting Bill Monroe in their instrumentals & vocals! So enjoyable to watch and listen--ended too soon! Wish they would come to North Carolina & do some Gospel. Wonderful! Thanks for posting it. It demonstrates, amazingly, the total arbitrariness of genetic and cultural identity. Japanese can be as American as any American, and presumably any American can be as Japanese as any Japanese, etc. =)

His name is Sasabe Masuo (family name is "Sasabe"). This band is a just one day session unit for TV show, like Muleskinner. Session leader is a fiddler, Kishimoto Ichiyo (family name is "Kishimoto").
