I agree with the post about seeing more on the crew quarters. A happy and confortable crew would be important to me. The crew makes or breaks a charter, in my opinion. It would be nice to see them given a bit more space.
..naa.Italy is Italy (Ferrari..)Germany is Germany (Mercedes..) Netherlands (make the best yachts Anyways?).Turkey is Turkey. It’s all in the mind/set.Won’t change anytime soon😏.
The one thing I really like is the positioning of the crew quarters, out of the way but pleasant enough, crew accommodation is very high up my list, I would have liked to see more of it on the vid.
Very clean and exciting always more to feel and see . Looks larger inside , like the TARDIS ! Sci - Fi !! Great design through out , a yachters , yacht much respect !
In the last 2 years I’ve probably virtually toured over 200 luxury motor-yachts that were 24 meters and up. Out of all those yachts - my hands-down, without a doubt Top Pick is the Alpha Spritz 102!!
Without doubt, one of the most amazing layouts on a yacht I've witnessed on your channel. They've finessed this to the nth-degree, in a way that is simply incomparable on yachts her size. Every aspect, every angle, every dimension is simply pleasing in a way that I'd struggle to put into words. As a Chef, my job is to put very few elements on a plate, making it look simple, but delivering it in a way that, unless you've done it a LOT, over a LONG time, is difficult to replicate. That takes a lot practice and eye for nuance/detail that is semi-OCD. Alpha do that seamlessly, because they are next level. They "got gud" and Hull #1 is achingly beautiful. In Chef's terms, we'd say "Banging" or "Boom" To paraphrase Marco Pierre-White "The road to perfection, lies in doing lot's of little things exceptionally well". This yacht sums that up, and then some. 15/10 PS Loved the wee snippet of the beloved David Attenborough on the screen in the background @16:25. Made me smile...
This is one of those times where I *want* to like this. There are some things though, that make me scratch my head...I guess none of the designers ever used a grill when they put it right next to the outdoor TV...that's going to be a pain to keep clean. Beyond that, one thing I look for in any interior space is warmth; does it look inviting and someplace where I can really relax? In this case, it doesn't come close. Maybe it's a Europe vs. America thing, but the interior, especially the salon, gives me the vibe that I need to keep my hands in my pockets because I shouldn't touch...only look. Add to that some of the industrial touches, and *for me*, this isn't something that I'd relax in...I want something fun, comfortable, something where I can kick off my shoes, lay on the sofa, and not look out of place. Instead, I see an interior where people with names like Binky, Buffy, Biff, Rutherford, and Rebecca (never Becky!) would lift their noses and the hoi-polli on the shore as this beast passes them by.
Everything comes at a cost! If you focus heavily on exterior space and smaller interior then you loose volume ! 100 foot yacht needs large saloon! The interior saloon tv area on this is the size of a 70 footer! Small circle dinning! And that's about it! Take the riva 100 fly interior is what a hundred foot yacht demands! I do like this vessel but it's to heavily focused on exterior entertaining! I bet some exterior seating will never get used! And interior is small and cluttered! 10 people at night watching a movie won't happen! Yachts need a balance of interior and exterior ! I respect the bold choice to be different but this design will only work on a 130 footer were you have space to have large interior and exterior space to work with! Thanks for quality Denison videos!! Happy sailing all 🛥⚓
Serious tub. Solidly impressive. Small point on presentation, never ever under any circumstance show a room with curtains closed. All windows on a yacht must be entirely unfettered for presentation. Without exception.
So, for the past 40 years, whenever someone mentioned Turkey... BAM... all I could think about was Midnight Express, even though Turkey is a wonderful country steeped in beautiful history, culture, religion, food, and loving people. It's sorta like Ned Beatty. Fine actor, plenty of good movies under his belt, but the majority of us only know him from "squeal like a pig" Deliverance in spite of viewing most of his catalog. But now, and also thanks to UA-cam, as Turkey emerges as the World's foremost luxury-yacht builder with brands like CMB, Numarine, Vicem, Bering, and Sirena, those disturbing images of American student Billy Hayes being held in a Hellish, third-world, Turkish prison for trying to smuggle hashish seemingly give way to turquoise waters, calm breezes, leaning palm trees, smiling faces, and sun soaked days. And for that I am grateful.
That is a great yacht for a 102. I am very surprised at how much difference that a wider beam makes. I would add a hot tub on the upper deck and darker interior (darker, just like my personality) but other than that I love this yacht.
So if you put 2 jet skis up near the bow, can you get a tender and another jet ski on the swim platform? Instead of the umbrellas, can you get poles for a Bimini top that runs out to the edge or the beginning of the swim platform.
It was just a matter of time before the best in in modern marine design found the extensive construction and finishing skills that were available in turkey. .
The range is not good when you drop it down to 10 knots 2500, Nordhavn 120 6,500-nautical-mile transpacific passage, the beam is nearly 28 feet the draft lets it down somewhat but with that difference in the range that you get I would certainly put up with a deeper draft
Lets put the flybridge halfway back down the boat so you cant see half a mile infront of you. Lets make it wider and shallower than any other boat in class so it rolls like a kayak. Lets give it a trawler bow but then cut holes the size of shipping containers in the hull and a stern that will catch any following sea ... Looks great but god help anyone taking it into blue water
Beautiful boat. So much contemporary design is cold and ugly. This isn't. Only wish the main salon was bigger and it had a hot tub instead of a plunge pool.
First comment I have seen from someone else that has figured this out! LMAO It really is that simple with the ISO 20022 standard coming by 2023. Hope all the nicer yachts don't sell out before then!
Why so many times in these videos in general and this channel in particular, they say the seats at the table are more than they actually are? No matter what you do, you can't fit 12 people on the deck table.
The Italian yacht builders San Lorenzo with their SX series, ISA with their Extra series and Arcadia with their Sherpa series came up with this design 5 years ago already.. I guess the no brand yacht builders can only copy instead of creating their own original new designs.
For me, boats will either succeed or fail by their interiors. This one fails big time. Did the so called designer layout offices in his previous job? Errh, dreadful. They fail because it does not exude intimacy, warmth, personality, just utility. Where do i go for a "cuddle up" night in with my wife and a bottle of wine? Many so called renown "Interior Designers" seem to fall back again and again on Sofas. The interior ends up looking like a hotel foyer. Sorry you 2, you tried your best, that's your job but even your oily slick sales pitch failed.
The 102 Alpha has actually become a popular choice, and was a huge hit at the Miami Boat Show this year. To each their own, thank you for sharing your thoughts.
It really looks like Extra Yachts of Italy Very, very similar design In my opinion, 13.4 MUSD is too much for this boat which is higher than Italian high-end brand yachts designed by world-famous designer In & Out
I think the Turkish builders are better than the Italians. But it all comes down to personal preference. The wide beam is a major selling point for me. It makes a huge difference. But I do agree that the price is pretty high. A Princess 95x is about the same price.
@@kokomo9764 I agree to the fact that some Turkish shipyards are very good at building quality yachts. Engine room access from the swim platform makes this boat useless and unsafe as a passagemaker
With the impressively large transom area, it allows crew to safely access the engine room while underway
